I actually really enjoyed the Metal Fusion game as a kid, and the coolest part about it was that it came with its own exclusive Bayblade toy with a painted wheel and metal face.
There actually was a 3rd game for metal fury. It was on the 3DS, but it was combined with the Shogun Steel series. Also you should try out the very first metal fight beyblade DS game. Its a japan exclusive

I never had the metal fusion game, but I did have the Metal masters game. I was (and still am) really into beyblade, I had a 3DS by then and one day when I was in target, I saw the Metal masters game, behind the glass cabinet, there was only one, and being afraid of missing out, I got it immediately and played the absolute hell out of it. Me and my friends would play it all the time on the school bus. Out of the 3 Beyblade games on the DS family that released internationally, Metal masters is definitely the best. I was so Pissed when the 3ds game Beyblade evolutions (which was the Metal fury/shogun steel game) didn't continue the fighting game route. All I can say now is: BEYBLADE METAL MASTERS FOR EVO 2024 LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
I played those games as a kid lol, I've spended quit a lot of time hard tryharding both story mode I think I got pretty far but that was some of the hardest thing ever especially the first one lol
Only thing sucked is that if you had more than enough bey parts you wouldn't be able to buy acquire any more bey parts and you had to sell exchange them it was so stupid
You know though I think you could actually get to customize your beyblade in story mode but i think I believe you had to beat story mode with all unlocked characters and with theire story modes too
You have a bakushin susanow ver so you start with differant character to a nightmare rex copy in rex you get masamune and tsubasa rather than ryuga and takeru
Metal fusion was so fun as a kid this is honestly just a skill issue you’re just bad at the game. I had no problem playing this game as a kid. I thought masters was fun too
Metal Fusion is so hard and I can't even play it properly when I was a kid cause my mom will get super angry whenever I scream at my NDS.

In the japanese version of metal fusion you can customize your beyblade parts in story mode, i don't know why they removed it in the english version.

I didn't play a ton and it's been a bit, but I don’t think it did? But they made it the coolest one in the second game

I made multiple beyblades for each and every character or maybe just for ginka ryuga sora and probably a few other bladers
I PLAYED METAL FUSION AS WELL I FORGOT, the gameplay on it felt more inclusive compared to metal masters
If you guys want to play this try an emulator it’s the best invention that has ever been jnvented
