No excuses Snutt, you don't need to couch it. You all TOTALLY deserve awards for this game. It doesn't matter if you get an award or not. We all love what you have done and appreciate all the time we have sunk into this monster. Stand tall, stand proud. Period.
Please please please, maintain the full kb / mouse support from pc on console. I get it's necessary to support controller on console, but please bear in mind consoles have had full kb and mouse support for many years... and dropping support for kb and Mouse would be a major step back for many. As a console player, I find controller more natural for some actions, such as movement through the environment, vehicle control, etc. But kb / mouse is much more natural for precise positioning, menu interactions, etc. In addition, allowing multiple mappings for the same command so you can use mouse or keyboard for whatever you are doing as feels appropriate and not be forced to temporarily swap for one action would be essential. Please don't make the mistake that so ,any companies have made of going "this is a console port, console gamers have a controller glued to their hands and never want to use anything else..." Currently, I play satisfactory from console using geforce now... looking forward to getting it natively...
15:12 I've been playing Satisfactory with m&k for years and recently on Steam Deck while on the go. I have a Steam input layout that definitely works for me now and I've gotten very used to it. The main thing I am hoping/looking forward to with controller support is being able to navigate menus and things without having to use the right joystick or right thumb pad as a mouse. That would improve my experience immediately.
For me, it's a mood thing. If I want to sit back and relax, I'm on the couch with steam deck or controller. If I want to grind a game, mouse and keyboard
I tried "Before We Leave" on console after mostly playing on PC and it was weird. 😅 I think I understand what Snutt is saying about how it will feel. I'm not sure I understood what he meant by iterating... Like... Can they at least rework the controller support and it's UI/UX *on PC*?!
Console support will be huge. I curious what the controls will be for the build menu and hotbar. My favorite menu style w controller is a cursor controlled by the right stick. I think having a hotbar you can scroll through like Minecraft, would also be intuitive
@SatisfactoryClipsArchive they might not like vr but loads do not my fault they dont but heard loads asking for it might have to look into that mod for vr
I am also stunned Satisfactory didn’t get an award. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game but 1.0 has been a mess for me. If it wasn’t for the story elements I would have packed it in already. I had a better experience in update 8. Maybe not sticking the landing took you out of the race.
@@leotheliongamesWell the viewing angle in which you can get belts into ports reduced to near line of sight but is normal now. There are still pieces that won’t build or glitch unless it’s in a certain direction. We are back to the dismantle crates being inaccessible on geysers. The back wheels of the explorer don’t touch the floor. You still get mud trails off the wheels even when your on foundation roads. Can’t make the signs glow anymore and you can’t copy and paste any settings on them either. Some build pieces turn red if you Zoop over existing items while others just happily double up. I know this next one is subjective but the physics for the vehicles is straight garbage. The explorer is tolerable but still dives left or right as and when it wills. The truck however is just an embarrassment. With the size and weight of that thing it shouldn’t go airborne like it was made of Flubber every time you run over a matchstick. Gonna stop now but you get my drift yeah?
@@rieskorin2027 these are all such weirdly niche things though? like calling it bad enough you won't play anymore because of this just seems.. like a wild overreaction, personally.
@@LauraLovesHugs It is just the gut reaction i had. If not for the story i would have put the whole thing to one side for a year or two until it was polished properly. I'm in it now so i'll go to the end but compared to my last playthrough in U8, i'm not loving it. At first all the new stuff distracted me but now i'm into my main factory build phase all the shonky bits are getting on my pectorals. Still a worthwhile game. If your reading this and don't have it, get it 👍
but it is a DLC, no matter the quality they should have added new category that includes DLC and remakes but Game of the year the name itself means game of the year.
Dev: So, you want to target more platforms. But the real question is where to start. What's the quickest and easiest way to start with targeting different platforms and get experience in going so? One option is consoles, that requires adding controller support, integrating with new stores, and tackling various branding requirements that the different suppliers demand. So there's probably a load of new assets involved. Option 2 is native MacOS. We know a bunch of people are already playing it via the game porting kit, it's just mouse and keyboard again so no controller support is needed, there's no new assets, and we can distribute via the Steam store, which we're already on. Plus, Unreal already targets MacOS, so all we need to do is configure our builds for a different platform! Manager: Console it is then
I swear the CMs pull out their answers from thin air. Every time vertical nudging is brought up there's a different reason. Edge cases, lack of key bindings, lack of community support, taking away from modders... just say you have other priorities.
you gotta understand this that Console is a huge market that they can tap on to, and in other hand Mac os is barely 1% , I have a mac I would love to play on mac , but Apple is natorius for money grabbing from developers , you have to pay developer fee yearly , and also its is not just using mac version of unreal and it will work no gamedevlopment doesn't work like that. Controller support enables so many thing you might don't even understand. like with controller support people with disability can play this game , they can map the keys with their preferred system , for us steamdeck would be so great with proper controller support , Console market is going to boost their revenue and that which is going to enable them to continue working on games more so then they already do. Mac support is not going to do any of that , believe me I really want mac os native support but I fully understand their desicion.
No sane person would want to play Satisfactory on MacOS due to performance, especially in the graphics department. x86 has a huge optimization advantage. It would make more sense to target Linux natively due to this despite the smaller user base. Remember that Macs were never intended to be serious gaming machines.
Im going to be honest. I've given it a long time. At first, I cast my opinion away as a "Hes not Jayce" bias. But now all these months and months later, I think I've properly let go and consider my opinion unbiased of Jayce. Mikael is just not a personality for this job. I feel like everything he does is just mimicking Snutt's reactions (annoying hype attempt) or he tries to have unique cringe moments like Snutt that just.. fall flat. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a nice guy. But I find myself more annoyed by his presence than appreciative because he brings nothing to the table. Snutt makes the content and Mikael is just kind of there. Back in the day, Jayce would bounce off Snutt and vice versa. It was symbiotic. Mikael is just kind of always there. I get that it has to be nice (if not necessary) for Snutt to share some of the workload with a partner. But in terms of the camera, Mikael does more harm than good when next to Snutt. I love CSS. I love Snutt. And although I don't feel I've been given the opportunity to really KNOW you, Mikael, I appreciate what you're trying to do. I'm just not sure all the pieces are in their optimal places in the current arrangement. CSS fan forever, regardless. Have a great Wednesday everyone.
I would point out that Jace & Snutt knew each other a bit before Snutt joined CSS & had years to develop their rapport, whereas Snutt & Mikael have only worked together for a year.
satisfactory already won an award in my heart
I completely agree

Some games I find easier to play on controller but I started gaming on k/m and still find that the easiest.
For me, it's a mood thing. If I want to sit back and relax, I'm on the couch with steam deck or controller. If I want to grind a game, mouse and keyboard
Same here
At the very least they should've been nominated for best sounddesign because the sounddesign is absolutely top tier
Power outtage? You forgot to feed the powerplant some biomass. Consider coal or turbo fuel.
Will we get DLC for golf? :D

Satisfactory can still be award-whining. :-P
Relax Marv, it's only wednesday, play the game!
I still haven't finished updating the production planner for 1.0, _haven't yet played the game 😅_
Satisfactory DLC confirmed
Some people refund/dont buy games, because game does not support controller.
if you want an award, dont focus on a DLc but on the current bugs :)
1.0 wasn't ready when it launched, too much bugs and etc.
When vr port please?

Q&A: Have you considered adding VR support to the game?

Need to add gruesome industrial accidents first.
Theres a tool where you can port technically every Unreal game to VR i believe

@AdmiralEisbaer yea I heard about that going to look into it

What issues have you had? I’ve been playing since launch day, and the only major issue I ran into was the coal gen input issue?
I agree, 1.0 is not as polished as it should be.

So sad that Satisfactory didn't win, but the DLC for Elden Ring is pretty much a game on it's own

No. It already has a healthy modding community.
