    The thing that drives me up the wall regarding fluids is that there is no way to figure out if/when something has been disconnected. That Refinery or Water extractor might sit there and look like it's working, but the junction I thought it was attached to isn't actually connected. This has happened multiple times, and while the existing mechanic works okay-ish, it feels like the game treats the pipes exactly the same as the belts + head loss, and as a consequence has the same problems as the belts: - when it has to pass through a floor/wall hole ?!?! what is going on. Both pipes and Belts seem to treat holes as "container" and as a such bottleneck. - belts can go uphill. Pipes carrying Nitogen can go up hill without head loss, but liquids it's impossible to determine the head loss if you have to go over like a 1 meter hump somewhere and then back down and then back up 5 meters later. As an example of this, is one of the bauxite areas where the closest water extraction point is like exactly 10m. - it feels like the way belts work is BELT X is really a container going Left-to-Right, and works in a FIFO (First In, First Out.) The way pipes work is that it's a container going Bottom-to-Top and is LIFO (Last In, First Out), and the fill rate determined by head loss. But when the pipe has Nitrogen in it, it works the other way around without the head loss, like a belt. So if you have a bunch of really short pipes (eg from the extractor, or to the machine, not your main bus) you don't know if there is actually liquid in the pipe if the machine is consuming it all. What the game could do to make it easier to understand is when you press E is indicate head lift gain/loss from source. So if you press E, it should say if that segment is above the head lift limit or below it.

    Those stairs sucked... but they were more compact than the modern catwalk pieces. The minimum footprint for a multi-level stairwell with the old stairs was 1 tile, while the new catwalk pieces require 3/2 of a tile.

    so there is 3 issues (2 are related) 1) FPS at 32 will create a weird desync and throughput problem (quite a significant one) 2) alt tabbing or pressing the windows key out of the window will create a stutter effect and desync with minor throughput issues (1 to 2 units per event). 3) auto saving will create a stutter effect (varies on file size and PC performance) (minor throughput of 1 to 2 units per event)

    What about ADA and in-game manual showing an animation for a general "how to not mess it up" or general guidelines. You're right, most of the problem is you have to TH-cam it to figure it out.

    So im looking into both Factorio and this game and gotta be honest the building and the beauty had me leaning towards this Satisfactory for a long time now... However, when i found out that Factorio has base defense that scales and gets harder as you explore it made me leans towards that more... Don't get me wrong i want both and def will get both its just this small fact tipped the scales a bit. As much as i love games with massive base building being the main focus? they all got one thing in common. once the creativity runs out or recourses or space or whatever it maybe you're stuck with 1 option.... start all over. which is great the first 10, 20, 50, maybe even 100 time depending on how good the game is. however, it WILL get stale and if you wind up getting to that 50th start over? It's hard to ever come back to the game. With the idea that things can't attack your base. get harder as you get bigger. Being able to build bigger and Badder defenses while having to choose to focus your resources on more building for more resources faster, or bigger defense to make sure nothing gets destroyed essentially pushing you further back and having to rebuild all over to learn from your mistakes? Trying to find that balance and getting better each time that gives UNLIMITED replay ability and makes it so much better and harder. Of course, giving the option to avoid this for guys that wanna build and get bored never coming back. Cus some people are just happy with that. However, having that option for most people i know? Will have them coming back over and over. If this will never be the plan? I think giving modders an easy path to go down this road should be thought of. Right now it looks like threats just wonder around but aren't real threats till engaged. Maybe giving a switch at the beginning to turn base damage on and off as you get closer and or build closer to enemies would help. Also, a slider on how many threats are in the world and a switch whether they attack or not you, the base, nothing at all, or the way it is now, Attacked when engaged. I think modders haven't gone down this road cus they would have to add all that themselves before even beginning. I also have a feeling it wouldn't be something you mess around with for an hour or 2 as you stated, Im confident if done right? This will have you sucked in completely. In 1st person on a 3d scale? There would no longer be any competition for factorio. Idk thats my opinion of course but i know for pretty much anyone i asked? They either love both games or just love factorio but both sides agree they would want to see this. The group that only plays factorio is because its missing this or something is just missing period. Of course this could be biased. I moderate a big tarkov discord so this is where im getting my info. These guys might just love action lol. but for me? Its the option... I love games that give me options. sorry for the long text. Hopefully someone sees it and understands where im coming from though

    The fluid system is over realistic, I prefer to have more gamified version of the fluid system sort of like what Factorio did with in the 2.0 update

    The devs seem to dislike the blueprint planner so much that I'd be surprised if it got improved at all in the next year. ADA even mocks you every time you unlock a new blueprint planner.

    i produces 6000 liters of regular fuel, I have 10 "600" transport pipes, there is a "water tower", there are pumps... and there is still no fuel. it's not a problem with "dynamics", it's a problem with pipes... you can start adding new things once the BASIC ones are fixed.

    imo if you just have ADA explain on first connection of a pipe network that you should let the pipe fill and half fill up a buffer or something, and that while headlift exists, machines fluctuate being on and off in a 100% efficient system, so a buffer is basically mandatory, and while the machines are off gravity is a total bitch and will not fill your machines....in short, build a water tower and fill machines from a location above the machines so they gravity fill when machines are off

    i personally think this is important. I have seen many reddit post saying "fluids broke me" or something along the lines of that. You don't want people quitting because of a mechanic they don't understand

    I built this big fuel generator cluster with 400 generators, hooked it up and it never worked well. Read a 16 page pdf explaining the mechanics and how to deal with fluids. Didn't help. I asked on the Satisfactory discord for help, had 4 different people join my world and diagnose the system with different issues. "Oh you don't have fluid buffers, you need buffers!" the next one went "oh we dont use valves, valves bad", another one said "NO FLUID BUFFERS, BUFFERS BAD" and the last one said "no buffers, no valves, no long pipes, dont connect them to too many machines, no floor holes..." I've spent hours debugging that system and never got 100% working. If you reach a point, where your supposedly working mechanic cannot be understood and implemented by a player in ~20 hours of trying, is that mechanic working well? It's cool to have fluid sloshing and head lift and whatnot realistic mechanics, but not if it's like this... I would much much much rather have a simple fluid system, no sloshing, just a functional system that delivers X amount of fluid if there is enough of it and if there is head lift. Spent another ~100 hours building a 6000 rocket fuel factory where I eliminated pipes as much as possible. No buffers, no valves, no head lift required, no floor holes, almost no 600 pipes. It's a lot of packagers but hopefully this makes it work...

    As much complaints of as I’ve heard about fluids, I have not had a problem and I have just started in 1.0. And when I have ran into problems, all I do is troubleshoot back to it and fix it simple but maybe people are lacking this process or the ability and patience to perform this process.
