    You had me tearing up. Thank you for sharing this magical time in your life. It reminds me to always be in the moment and to make each day worth remembering. Also, I can totally see you being an entertainer. In fact, you still are. You make all our days a little better by watching your videos. 😘

    Oh how sad, but wonderful memories I'm sure. I grew up in Waukegan and spent many summer days with friends at Great America. Your video brought back pleasant memories for me. Thanks!

    Sorry for your losses - but what a great video! I don't think anything the park puts in the Grand Music Hall in the summer season compares to what used to be in there. The quality of shows used to be much better. But I'm glad you got to come back and revisit some of those memories.

    Such an honorable video, sharing a difficult thing in your younger life with us as well as the recent loss of some of your colleagues from back then. The thing is, they were all so young and that is tragic. I'm sure it must have been difficult for you but it was a heartwarming tribute to your departed friends.

    As an employee at California's Great America in the entertainment dept, it was pretty cool seeing the inside of SFGAm's "Grand Music Hall" (which ours is called the "Great America Theater"). Looks nearly identical other than the fact we have soft folding seats as opposed to the plastic seats.
    So far I've been having a blast working at CGA and while it is technically "work" it sure doesn't feel like it with the things I do - building multimedia content for our shows, recently working on our teaser campaign for the new RailBlazer coaster, and much more.

      +AngryGumball Despite the drama, I really had so much fun at summer! I hope you continue to enjoy what you're doing, and that your experience ends differently than mine!

    Wow. Didn't know you were a performer and a dancer. I can't even do one back flip.

    What a touching video and do cool to see you performing! I remember working at a museum with a huge group of people and it gave me such great memories. I pass by it everyday on my way to work and it's just sad since many of us didn't keep in touch.

    Thanks for bringing back memories of working at Six Flags in the mid '90s.

    Very interesting. I did not realize that Six Flags had live musicals. I am not a fan of live shows. I have gone to several musicals and even an opera and always found them unfulfilling and a little embarrassing (I don't know why). I guess I am too much of a movie guy to appreciate the live stuff. Anyway, I am glad you had a good experience (aside from getting fired), and I am sure you were very good at your work.

    I absolutely get it. As I mentioned in the other video, I worked at the park between '93 and '00 and am still friends with many of people I worked with those many years ago. Working at a major amusement park during your high school and college years is one of the best experiences a teenager/young adult can ask for; the life experiences, the friendships, the romances, etc. My time at Great America remains one of the best times of my life.

    I spent my summers from 1996 to 2001 working at that park. I still keep in touch with many people that I have met from there. They were the best summers I have ever had.

    • @VeryunOfficialTravelGuides
      @VeryunOfficialTravelGuides  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      What crews did you work on?

    • @Jojo19799
      @Jojo19799 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I spent a good amount of time at Iron Wolf. Then in 1999 I switched to entertainment as a theater hostess. Spent most of my time at Picto and SW Amphitheater. I did spend some time at GMH and Theater Royale too but I was mostly at the other theaters. Oh and of course did the nightly parades.

    • @VeryunOfficialTravelGuides
      @VeryunOfficialTravelGuides  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      When was your last visit to the park?

    • @Jojo19799
      @Jojo19799 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Last month. LOL. I still live in the area. I do go to the park often, but only for a few hours here and there. If I have friends in town who've never been then I'll spend all day there. When it's hot out, I'll spend the day at the water park.

    • @VeryunOfficialTravelGuides

      Would you ever consider working there again for a summer, just taking like 3 months off of your normal job and going for it?

  • @chavidey
    @chavidey 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    HI! Loved this! I used to work there too a few years before you :) I played piano in the Snowshoe saloon and also played piano in the music hall for a show called Silver Screen ...this brought back great memories!

      It was so great going back to the park, yet very emotional. When was the last time you were there?

      I haven't been back since 1999 ..moved away from the area and been on the East coast --haven't gone back -watching this video made think about a small trip - I remember renting an apartment in Waukegan for the two summers I was there ..it was hard work but loved every minute so many memories!

    This really had me tearing up. I worked at a place that I made so many great memories but had to leave for 2 main reasons. I had a 3 month long travel coming up and the change in the place made it unbearable. It also had me tearing up because these people were just a couple years older than my parents. It makes me thankful for sure!

    So this video is years old and I honestly do not know if you will ever see it. I don't know if you will remember me but I also work at Grand Music Hall for Crime of the Century. I was the dresser on stage left or opposite side of where the dressing rooms were in. Your video brought back a lot of memories. I remember Erica, and Chaz, and a few others. Only really kept on contact with Aaron. Like I said I don't know if you will remember me. My name is Corrine and good to see you again. 😁😁

    I can't believe they have been doing the Jumpin Jammin Jubilee since 1994! They renamed it Bugs Bunny Starlight Spectacular, That lasted a few years then they did a glow in the park parade that also lasted a couple years. In 2013 they did Ignight grand finale and that basically flopped only lasting one year. Do you have any memorabilia or other pictures or videos of shows, rides, or really anything you could show us?
