These are some awesome tips! I also have this park as my home park and my biggest tip is to go early and hit Maxx Force and Goliath first and save Raging Bull for later because of its amazing capacity- I made a similar video about Great America tips and tricks and you clearly blew all my tips out the water with this video (everything you said is very helpful for first timers)
@@MozzarEllaOfficial just got back from the park today! Even with 100% capacity and the parking lot filled I got 9 rides all being station waits or walk-ones because I was super efficient with time (I didn’t even have a flash pass) But Viper and Demon moved way up in my rankings and Goliath is still my number one over Raging Bull and Maxx Force
@@AirtimeProductions I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed demon. I remember riding it before becoming an enthusiast and I didn’t like it because its rough and has janky transitions. But after riding it while knowing what to expect and with my head more forward, I was able to avoid pain and thoroughly enjoyed the ride!
Nice video. I still remember when my father took us to "Marriott's Great America the year that it opened in the Bicentennial year of 1976. I was 7 years old and my eyes were large as saucers taking in all the wonderment! We had been to carnivals & Santa's village, but this was SERIOUS stuff. Of course, Mickey mouse was in Disneyland, so Great America had the " "Looney Tune" characters walking around and meeting guests. I was quite impressed to shake Bugs Bunny's hand (paw?) I also met Sylvester &Twenty Bird, Yosemite Sam & Peep LePeu! 🤗
One thing I would like to add: you can also buy single day tickets for Great America at Jewel-Osco which is the large grocery store chain in the Chicago area. That is going to be cheaper than paying at the gate.
This was very helpful. I've been to this park before, but it's always nice to hear more advice from others so that the next visit will always be better than the last one.
Great video! As someone who also has this as their home park, i thought this was very accurate and you can have an exceptional day from using this video! 12:03 minor correction: there are 4 wooden coasters but 5 if you count American Eagle as 2. those are Goliath, Viper, American Eagle, and Little Dipper.
@WaterishDog Sorry to be that guy, but you are misinformed. The supports are not what classifies a roller coaster as wooden or steel, its the track. If a coaster has steel track and wooden supports its either a steel coaster or hybrid coaster, not a wooden coaster because the track doesn’t have any wood in it. And if it has wooden track and steel supports its either a wooden coaster or a hybrid coaster because the track is wooden. Goliath is RMC topper track, meaning it has seven layers of wood and a top layer of steel. Thus, it is a wooden coaster. This is different from RMC I-box track which uses all steel track, which makes roller coasters like Twisted Timbers a steel coaster. The more you know! 😁
@WaterishDog Hahaha! I have been an enthusiast for a long time and, while I don’t remember exactly where I first learned it, the information is readily available and you can probably just watch a video on RMC. It will tell you all about the company and make more sense. Although, to be fair, goat men and roller coasters are different 😂. Because a roller coaster type is classified by the track and not the supports. But I guess you’re right, a goat man is always a hybrid!

I can confirm you can enter with food for medical. At SFStL, they give you a medical sticker at the gate if you ask. When I went to SFGAm opening day and asked for a medical sticker, they had no idea what I was talking about, but had no problems letting me in with food. Also, I was told over the phone by an employee that fanny packs are allowed except on Maxx Force and Goliath.

I'm thinking of buying Flash Passes the next time I go. If I purchase online, do i need to stop somewhere in the park to get cards? I've heard of people waiting in line for 1-2 hours to get Flash Passes. And is it better to go right away when lines might be lower or go on rides first to take advantage of low wait times.

Restraints fit everyone differently, so it's hard to say which ones are the worst for everyone. I would recommend trying the test seats if they are at the entrance of a ride. If there is no test seat, try walking up the exit of a ride, asking if you can check out the restraints to see how they feel for you, and then reenter the line if they're good.
That tip is true for the older rides that may not have test seats available. Just talk to the attendant at the exit and explain to them that you are only testing the seat. If it is fine and you are comfortable, you would then reenter the line as per normal.
