Mr. Morgan, I know I don't write much, but I can truly say I am so happy to know you. I LOVED this video (along with all the others). Such a personal story, as with most of life, with it's ups and downs. Too bad your youthful enthusiasm for the show couldn't have inspired some of the more jaded performers to be more excited about the production. But I'm guessing most of them were pretty young and still learning what it means to be a professional in any field, Keep up the wonderful videos and I can't wait for your Disney recollections.
Ok, you cannot leave a cliffhanger about working at Magic Kingdom and not follow up on it! Loving the Storytime episodes, thanks for starting this sub-series.
At least the job ended at the end of the summer rather than earlier and at least you got to experience your dream. Love your story time videos. Would love to hear about your other park experiences.
Morgan, even though this was over 20 years ago, I still wish things would have been different that day. I was always told to stand up for my beliefs and this was something I felt very strongly about. I truly am sorry, but very excited for all of your success and the success of others that we have worked with. I enjoy having an outlet for what creativity I have left, and hope someday I can find time to go through what videos survived the flood and see if there is any fun material. One thing I will never forget, is that you had a secret way to get on Batman the Ride and in between shows you would just jump on and get to ride. I'm almost positive you rode over 100 times that summer. LOL I thought you were very COOL!! (I also knew you were very talented back then and would go on to bigger things)
Ooh, what a bummer, but THANK YOU so much for sharing your story. As a former Six Flags employee (actually leasee employee) I wondered what happened after your last video. I can feel how crushed you were - much like my final try out for the Nutcracker at Arie Crown theater when I knew I would be too tall the following year. Worst part was my sister got a role in the party scene and I got to watch the show about a zillion times pouring salt on the wound every time. I'd LOVE to hear about your time at WDW. We took a behind the scenes tour and our guide had a lot of fun parking us near one of the show lines at the end of the parade so we could see the dancers drop like flies as soon as they were out of sight. Love the videos, love the personal reflections. Thanks for all your advice and time and effort to share them with us.
Getting fired is very traumatic, I know. Sorry this happened to you Morgan. I once got fired for "hitting" on a woman. It was her word against mine and they believed her. I didn't hit on her so it was very conflicted and painful. Love your channel.
great story. I watched until the end and would like to hear your other work adventure. These stories help us understand more about you. We do trust your advice now we know why. Also I find your experience with poor attitudes to be true throughout the work force. I have a military/law enforcement/protection services background. I have seen it every where.
Holy Mackerel Morgan! The only problem is that your Six Flags Story isn't longer. I love hearing about "Live E" experiences and yours is a great one, but I think that theme parks today place a greater importance on rides, roller coasters because that's what brings the tourist in to the park. Now when my partner and I go to theme parks (Disney Word, Universal, Six Flags) the first thing we do when looking through the park guide is finding out what are the show times for Live Entertainment. lol Morgan you now must tell us about your Disney World experiences!
Thanks Geoffrey! There are many more story time videos coming, and I have some reeeeally interesting WDW stories. Are you going to come to the live chat today? 3pm EST here on my TH-cam Channel.
Ha ha ha ha ha...again I am at the beginning of this story but I understand! Got to fit in with the cool people thinking the job is uncool but you loving it! I just adore you! I just started a story time and have been afraid to tell my story, but am getting better...you are an inspiration!
Love your story time videos. My son did drama and was in many of the musicals and other productions in high school. Once he graduated we left CA and moved to Florida. A large group of his high school drama besties went to college together majoring in Theater and they all got jobs at Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm. It was hard for him leaving his friends. He has some of his best memories with his drama friends. He and other drama kids faced some tough bullying in high school. Did you ever have to go through bullying? Maybe a good topic for story time? I think it helps kids to hear from adults who understand what they're going through and it's going to be OK!
Oh yes, lots of bullying, but I honestly think it made me stronger and sort of prepared me for a lot of tough situations later in life. That doesn't mean I think it was good, but in a strange way it helped me. You have to have a really thick skin if you want to work in showbiz, that's for sure!
Hi, love the story time! Yes I have worked with negative people my whole career. They just suck the fun out of doing our jobs. Take care and safe travels
Awwwww!! Morgan - that should have been a happy story, but it was sad!! I can sympathize - I've lost a job (along with my fellow pre-school teachers) because of attitudinal problems (not me - I loved the job, but we all got punished for something that wasn't our fault)! And I do want to hear about your Disney experience!! I always used to say that I wished I had been more musical and would have learned to play a musical instrument because I had always loved the Main Street parade - alas, I had no musical talent (not dancing, singing, and I wouldn't have been happy wearing a character costume in the FL heat)!
I love your videos, you're experience and advice is very informative, I just followed you on twitter, keep up the good work!! I hope one day I can travel as much as you do! (:
Morgan it is the case in every job I've been at that many people are miserable at their job. I've often been an outsider but hopefully you never compromise your enthusiasm now. Hard to do in college though when you are just getting started in your career. However that is not getting fired because it wasn't your personal actions that caused management to make that decision.
Hi Morgan. I work in finance and we have a lot people who complain about their jobs all the time. I am now at a company were there are a lot more positive people and it does make a huge difference.
I'm in the midst of watching your videos, chronoligically, from the beginning, and I don't remember seeing the video about being fired from Great America. I did see the one where you went back for a visit, and that you were in the show, "Crime of the Century", but I don't remember anything about you being fired. I'll check out the link, I guess. I'm watching on my ipad, so I'm not sure how to go about that, though.....I'll figure it out.
I worked at an amusement park several seasons in a row. It was fun the first season and then management ruined it. Too little staff and too many hours. Really put a downer on the moral!
Hey, Morgan. I said in another video "Six Flag Great America??? That's MY home park!!" Now I listen to this video and ..... Man. I KNOW that audition, and that hotel, and that process.... because I did it. I, too, was a music major in a college near (nearer) by. But... unlike you, I didn't get the job. :( And I KNOW the feeling of being so INTO the show/the job. What I wouldn't DO to have been in that show! It kind-of bums me out.. no, wait, it ANGERS me that those who MADE it - stopped appreciating it. Cross out a time on a flyer? Heck, I would have typed up a whole new flyer and passed them out myself if it meant I could have gotten the job. :/ oh, well. Let me tell you - as someone who LOVES theater and works/goes there any chance I get... the audience CAN tell the people who WANT to be there and those who don't (no-one is THAT great an actor). And it's really crappy to spend time, if not money, watching people for whom you KNOW there are hundreds who would have given their eye teeth for the job - and they have an attitude as if we should be GRATEFUL they showed up. Thank you for being one who cares!
And now I have watched the rest of the video. I know you were crying - I would too...but more likely, I'd be fuming. You excuse these folks and their actions (perhaps because they were friends and maybe are now viewers), but Morgan this was just ----ty behavior. No! You get into a show for the summer - you stay in a show for the summer. You don't say, it's almost over and I'm going anyway... and now I want to come back, but I DID leave...and everyone else - tough that they lose their jobs." NO! That's not something - even years later - that's ok. I hear songs from Annie Get Your Gun and Curtains ringing in my head applauding the spirit of "show people"... and these.... pffffft. And what gets me angrier is that *I* and others lose gigs to these brats (
I would have been pissed at those three guys. Entitled, much? I am sorry you lost your job and I think that's amazing you had such a passion for performing. Do you still perform?
Great Video Again! I think it is very unprofessional of that theme park to make you cross out performance times. they could've just printed some more off!
Going back in time and seeing some of your videos from the past. Saying Six Flags is in Chicago is crazy , I dare you to walk to Chicago from Six Flags. Ha ha otherwise good video
extra... seriously. It had to do with the show. It's not EXTRA. I just do not get people. You do what it takes - or find something you'd rather be doing.
Mr. Morgan,
I know I don't write much, but I can truly say I am so happy to know you.
I LOVED this video (along with all the others).
Such a personal story, as with most of life, with it's ups and downs.

Hi Fran! Nice to hear from you! Yes, we were very young and I'm sure it would all be different now.
Ok, you cannot leave a cliffhanger about working at Magic Kingdom and not follow up on it! Loving the Storytime episodes, thanks for starting this sub-series.
Ok, ok! I will do a storytime about that, too, but it won't be for another few weeks. Got some other stuff to post first :-)
At least the job ended at the end of the summer rather than earlier and at least you got to experience your dream. Love your story time videos. Would love to hear about your other park experiences.

Thanks, and I honestly have no hard feelings!

Oh, that must have been really uncomfortable.
Awww thats was a great story , bit sad 😢. Please do more videos about your performing !! It makes sense why your so good a being infront of a camera .
I know it was kind of sad, but they are such great memories!
Can't wait to hear about your Wdw experiences! Keep it comin!

I'm glad I could help!

Morgan , I love watching all of your videos..So yes!
You could read the newspaper & I'd watch!
Wow, thanks!
I love your videos, you're experience and advice is very informative, I just followed you on twitter, keep up the good work!! I hope one day I can travel as much as you do! (:
I really like this video. You should indeed start another channel talking about your work at theaters. :-)

Thanks! And I agree! And I am still very enthusiastic! :-P
There will always be complainers at any job, and it brings everyone down.
Yes, it is pretty much a given, isn't it?
Please can you do a story time on your job at magic kingdom? Thanks!
Yes please do! :)
Hi Morgan. I work in finance and we have a lot people who complain about their jobs all the time. I am now at a company were there are a lot more positive people and it does make a huge difference.
I'm happy for you, and I totally agree!
Just followed you on Twitter! Love your vids!
Do you have any videos of you performing? I would love to see this!

Yes! I want to hear the story!
heading over to watch the "almost fired from Disneyworld " video now
I worked at an amusement park several seasons in a row. It was fun the first season and then management ruined it. Too little staff and too many hours. Really put a downer on the moral!
What park?
It was a small place called Craig's Cruisers. It was really just go-karts, mini-golf, video games, bumper boats, laser tag, etc.
Oh, ya, guess I shouldn't be surprised that I haven't heard of it. .-)
Awwwww such a sad but sweet story. I miss the 90s :) Yes please do tell about WDW!!
OK, I will, but not for a few weeks probably. Need to post some other things first to get some variety back ;-P
no rush :)

I think we "get" each other.
So what’s the rule when u get fired u can’t come back until the next year or ?
I would have been pissed at those three guys. Entitled, much? I am sorry you lost your job and I think that's amazing you had such a passion for performing. Do you still perform?
I've made the transition back to "back-stage", but I'm still involved in the entertainment industry!
I want to contiue to hear your stories!!!
There will be more coming! Stay tuned!
I work at a place people complain constantly. I am at a point I want out but no jobs are available in this area.
That must be so frustrating.
Great Video Again! I think it is very unprofessional of that theme park to make you cross out performance times. they could've just printed some more off!
But then they would have had to throw away thousands of these flyers, and that would have been a waste of paper and time. It really wasn't a big deal.
Going back in time and seeing some of your videos from the past. Saying Six Flags is in Chicago is crazy , I dare you to walk to Chicago from Six Flags. Ha ha otherwise good video
I think dollywood has there own shows and stuff dolly parton also has alot of shows around the world
Yes, Dollywood has great shows!
YAAAAS! My friends and I just stay for the $49.25 an hr
Dear one, you are known by fellow workers as a "goodie-goodie".
If that's what it means to be motivated and enjoy my job, then I guess you are right.
To enjoy one's job is truly a blessing.
I dont get it if you crossed out all of the flyres you shsould of got a pay raise did you get a pay raise
Nope, it didn't work that way.
cause I know some parks if you do extra you get a pay raise
extra... seriously. It had to do with the show. It's not EXTRA.
I just do not get people. You do what it takes - or find something you'd rather be doing.
So if it rained, the duck couldn't get wet?....LOL.
Ya, basically.
It's in every profession:/
That's too bad. Why is that, do you think?
first!!!
