One thing that I love about Predecessor Howitzers is how the in-game model lose his missile in his left arm when he shoot it and he recharge it and change his left arm position when he recover the cd.
The same happens with the E which is that little antenna that he have in his left shoulder, having it up when he have the mine ready and hidden it when he uses the mine

Really? I think OG paragon shits on pred so far. Cards and gems > over cluttered item shop. Built in teleport is lame and ruins engagements and escapes
The visuals look much cleaner with a better contrast so hopefully it's easier to see stuff because in over prime I struggled to see the enemy due to the low contrast and washed out visuals

@@billjim7288 What's wrong? The fact that Predecessor's Early Access is pay to play, is going at snails pace in terms of development compared to Overprime.
Has 8 less characters, no ranked mode, no progression and even though it is prettier, that is due to using 2nd map not the legacy map.
Only things Predecessor has going for it is the fact that some ex members of Paragon team are working on it and therefor it is also a lot more polished in terms of combat smoothness as Overprime has bit of delay and sync issues, although that could be attributed to another fact that Predecessor has EU servers while Overprime I'm not sure about as their ping hovers around 50 for EU compared to Predecessor at 12 ping.

They HAVE to make some sort of big changes to not hit an issue; just because Paragon doesn't exist as a playable game anymore doesn't make it any less of intellectual property of Epic
for mana regen you can kill the river buff to regenerate it, i think it gives the incentive to control river buffs and start fights there cause no mana potions

Overprime = newer Paragon build
Kinda funny, honestly. I miss the card items, too. It wasn't implemented well, but it was a cool idea.
Pred is old paragon overprime is a complete different game it feels like and kids trash tbh
predecessor seems to have much better gameplay design. Characters kits, the maps, buffs, and items just make so much more sense and are a lot more well rounded. Hopefully predecessor being paid doesn't prevent people from trying it and kill the game. It really looks like their devs have a much better understanding of design and seems much more promising to me.
Not to mention gameplay depth and skill expression. The fact howis missle is harder to land is a good thing. Give people a challenge for thier skills.
I hated decker and rampage Yeats in overprime because they were way to easy to land.
You only need to buy it in early access. Open beta is F2P and i'm waiting for it :)
It will be free at lauch, so as far as killing it I don't think so. I like the early acess being payed because it focuses the audience, and any hickups that happen the people that ivested money tend to stick with it.

I've been enjoying watching you play Overprime but I never really felt tempted to get it for myself, however I do have that temptation with Pred. Not enough to play it yet but I think I might try it when it releases properly. Thanks for the informative breakdown video!
Predecessor’s pacing seems more like a true MOBA, having more towers and an actual early game are super important for me. I was always frustrated in feeling that smite’s early game lasts like 7 minutes before you start getting one shot (you’ll always get one shit but that’s besides the point)
Incon, I played Paragon every day before it ended so I do know a good bit about it AND the buffs you got in the river was a "river" buff and it changes everytime it is taken. So as a Mid you want to focus on that buff for extra farm and abilities
For UI, I really wish they would change icons for the towers on the map since everything is a circle and it's easy to lose track when glancing over the map.
I’m really interested to see how both games rework Iggy and Scorch, he was a very popular character. Personally, I’m excited to see Zinx and Terra come back with updated kits
If Overprime fixes the weird melee attack lag it will be more enjoyable. Because of it I stuck to ranged characters which was still fun.
I like how he didn't even bring up the difference in Howie's appearance between Pred and OP. It's very telling about each company.

My biggest gripes about Overprime is that the most of the voices don't match the characters at all and they changed the names of characters

I personally prefer the way Pred looks and feels over OP. OP felt very arcadey, i did not like how much burst damage you can get in the early game, i hate the portals and im not a fan of the blurry washed out looking visuals and map. OP early game is a fucking bloodbath and i kinda like the slower pace of pred.
Overprime is a Korean/Asian based game and from my knowledge those communities play video games a lot less, so they're more geared for pay to play and faster paced games/arcade'ey

When I first started Overprime the graphics were blurry but after doing some edits in the graphics settings, I'm leaning on Paragon: Overprime with the win on cleaner graphics especially if you follow some directions from a user within Steam Discussion who has an .INI edit that greatly improves the graphics, too.
Man this game is not as pretty but the skill cap is so much higher. The plays you were pulling off look super satisfying with the blink and ult wow good gameplay !

Just out of curiosity, how are both of these games going to run at the same time? I want to pick one up after deciding which I like more but I just don’t see how two games by different companies aren’t going to run into legality issues down the road when both are using the same assets and characters. I feel like at some point, one of these devs is going to go after the other lol. Can someone explain how this isn’t going to become an issue?

Been waiting years for the game so you know how hyped I am but I’m not going to sugar coat anything bc I don’t like doing that to the things I like, if I can make it better I will. So: The game play is fine, not great but passable, the graphics are sub par to the Paragon we once knew, it’s like looking at cod (which we all know has great graphics) and the graphics are at 90% render they’re almost there but not quite yet, before that was the big deal for Paragon,( Playing the life like Hero’s from our imagination) the attention to detail from the blade of grass to the tip of the spear, the abilities of the hero’s (whoever that might be it didn’t matter everything from visual to sound it was made for them and it came from them) when they pop off now they just don’t feel or sounds the same at all. For example howitzers Main missile ability when you shoot it, it sounds weak and the explosion is like non existent there no wow factor like before. Paragon before did a fantastic job of making you feel like that champion, the gameplay only did it justice making the game feel even more immersive, if I was a game critic for the people I’d say this is a B-, Def not up to our standards from what we’ve witnessed before and what we were expecting.
Over all what we have atm is a clone paragon that gives you the option to play something that once was. From this point on it can only get better or worse which is the reason why I’m so harsh on my critic. Hoping for the best Paragon is my Phoenix

custom games with players will be available in january and no those characters are not there 😪 love shinbi and yin, maybe soon
there is a vs Ai mode for practice similar to league
The minions seem to hit harder in predecessor than overprime.
Predecessor upgraded to Unreal 5 so I'm not sure how Overprime looks better. Unless Overprime upgraded to Unreal 5 recently as well. Gameplay wise, predecessor is quite superior though.
Overprime for me looks blurry sometimes so Predecessor looks and plays better , at least in my PC

So would you say Overprime or Predecessor is the superior Paragon 2?
Overprime is more of a hero brawler while Predecessor is a more traditional moba (it also plays and looks 1000x better but thats imo) so its up to what your looking for.
Time will tell but I'm leaning towards Predecessor for a true OG Paragon experience. The team at Omeda studios consists of both previous Epic/ Paragon employees as well as fans and streamers of the original game. Omeda has true love for what Paragon was and I'm looking forward to tomorrow!

pred devs seem to have a better understanding of what theyre doing. A lot of the gameplay decisions on the map and characters kits were pretty questionable in the last overprime access. I dont see a universe where overprime becomes so good id ever play it over league/smite, but pred looks like it has potential to me. I also hate the super fast paced instakill style of moba that overprime is going for, and so does most of the non-asian market.

played overprime in the last beta and feels really off looks good but gameplay wise not responsive and honestly basic predecessor feels way more like a moba
How do you make a game so visually pleasing, but then complement it with a UI that screams "single dev f2p steam game with 7 players online"? Numbers colors, fonts, the potion pop up when you use it..
This is Early Access. And they said they are already working on refining the UI. One step at a time :)

Paragon was a game by Epic Games that was shut down . They released the assets for free. Overprime who bought the name Paragon for marketing purposes doesn't deserve to be called Paragon , it plays nothing like the OG Paragon and plays more like a hero shooter. While Predecessor plays more faithful to the OG Paragon , it plays like a true moba. Please don't call Overprime the name of Paragon they don't deserve that name since they only bought the name to get old Paragon players attention.
The reason they look similar is because they both use OG Paragon assets.

Turns out Overprime is far more pay to play in regards to ranked play! In overprime, you need 2,000 in game currency to unlock heroes. I beleive you need atleast 15-17 heroes permanently unlocked and to be level 10 or so before you can play ranked. Take into account the only way to get in game currency requires real money, or completing 3 daily challenges netting you a total of 300 in game currency. This means, you'll have to play an insane amount of hours to get to the level 10, along with doing 18 weeks worth of daily challenges everyday without missing to unlock the required amount of heroes for free... Somehow this is not surprising as the conpany over overprime are a phone fame based company. In conclusion, overprime has a predatory pay wall, or time investment to simply play a ranked mode on a video game!
Oh yeah, and the 2,000 in game currency equates to nearly $10 usd, which means you'd have to spend anywhere from $100-$170 depending on if you played the early access!

@@MrWEST1 you could mark another player using your (E I think) and finish them off at low health from any position on the map without repercussions. Very shy ability from being considered broken bc you can't die or have the other player be killed. The animation was a giant morgeish stabbing the player. It was rad and super satisfying.

Weak3n made a comment years ago why games like League & Fortnite would always be more popular than realistic modeled games of the same genre. At the time I didn't really get it but now that you are playing these new Moba games...I do.

@@xPandamon Overprime is more shooter than moba you will be most of the time against players, harder to farm and the most OP heroes almost always win , its rare to have a chance to comeback. If you want that Overprime is for you. If you want a true moba experience then Predecessor is the right choice , because you can farm , you can make comebacks and you don't have to be always against other players. I have played both games by the way.

The biggest downside to what I've seen on op is there is to much shit from abilities up in the air like a 4 man fight looks like a ninja blender of lunch meat and fruits lol

So far it looks good, but doesnt feel great. Item system is garbage I miss the cards and gems. Everyone having a teleport is bad for engagements and escapes too.
After Fault shutdown and after paying them for the game; I just don't know if I'd trust paying the money for the EA; I feel like they will just pull what Fault did and shut it down too. Feels like a cash grab.
It's 10 bucks, if you play it for a month you probably got your money's worth.
@@ThePswizzy Well sure maybe for the base package, but they're asking for liek what 80 for the other packages. I mean Fault did the same thing albeit last few months before they shutdown which is a kind of a dick move to be fair, and i know people who paid like 150-200 for Fault's higher tier packages just to be burned.
In other words, it was a quick cash grab.
Plus, last beta Pred had like 99% of people couldn't even get into their servers. So idk if i trust them
@@xavlee4129 it's only 40 dollar for the top package & you get skins, and I believe around 80 dollar in in game currency. Also the last pred test went great it was the one before the last.

If a game doesn't maintain a player base there's no point of it running anymore. Fault was a 3rd choice to pred and overprime it was just a matter of time.
We saw it with battlerite, heros of the storm, gigantic, radical heights, the original realm Royale.
Some cash grabs possibly but these companies would rather the games be great and monetize for years but not every game catches.
I do agree the game should have had EA free or at least have drops but I also don't think ten bucks is much of a stretch if you play for a couple weeks. That's a meal at chick fl la.

I was literally gonna say this is smite just with a different skin. 15 minutes of pve then fighting. While in overprime it’s brawl from the get go. I disagree how you are making assumptions with smoothness of gameplay when no one can play it. We will see when it hits dec 1

I myself play league after getting bored with Smite which due to the top down POV has some of the best skills and skill shots in a MOBA
Also due to it not being held back by mythos the characters are more diverse and interesting too

Interactivity, 3rd person camera, movement, visuals, everything is a plus for me. Esp compared to these new old games that have generic free assets. Not even comparable. With ZERO gameplay or knowledge of Paragon, and watching both Overprime and Predecessor. From a viewer/spectator, Overprime seems more entertaining/attractive to me. I would obviously have to actually play both of them to make a full opinion. But I like Overprime for stuff like the bushes, the vertical aspect, item actives, and the sprint that you get rooted out of. And graphics wise, Predecessor seems more smite-like-ish? Maybe lol which I do like more. I also watched alot more OP so my opinion thus far may change the more Pred I watch

Predecessor servers were a bit empty. You'd face the same 5 people countless times.
Both games have the issue of being way too slow. Having too little mana.
75% of your time is going back to base to fill up on mana, going back to lane, or rotating. Snoozefest

He is playing a closed test just for TH-camrs and streamers, literally there are only a few person in the server.
And if you are talking about the April stress test.... That was a 2 day stres test that had 0 marketing, obviously there isn't going to be many people as people don't even know that the game exists.
The game didn't had any kind of marketing and they still are not targeting to the big public if you want to play the game when it have a lot of people playing, just wait for the final release in +6 month, after the early access.

What turned paragon bad was the devs listening to all the crappy players crying about how difficult the game was and that players kept getting away when in sprint mode. Once they changed the card system and took sprint mode away it was no longer as enjoyable. Damn cry baby’s! Get good!
