    Wow, adding the detail to the white sabre's seat, scratch building with simple shapes and paint provides some excellent, beneficial detail. And I must respectfully disagree, not rambling. It's education. 👍🏻👍🏻 And again, interesting subjects to model. Thanks!

    Great comment on scratch building. I recently tried it for the first time, had to scratch build two 1/72 AH-64 seats as my kit was missing one. Planning to discuss it a bit whenever I finish editing the video. For my first try it was acceptable, but it wasn't quite as bad as I feared. Encouraged me to try more.
    Already told you how much I loved the Honduras F-86, so to see two built is great. Awesome job as usual, thanks for sharing your hard work. Looking forward to the sharks mouth group build.

    These both look really great, but I have been meaning to you: would it not be more efficient to paint the models without the canopies? As it seems like one step forward two steps back to me... I am happy to be corrected, as always.
    Edited.

    • @HammerheadModelMaking
      @HammerheadModelMaking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are times when it makes sense to leave the canopy off for painting, but regardless of weather I leave the canopy on or off, I still have to mask off the cockpit, so sometimes its just easier to use the canopy its self to mask the cockpit than trying to cover it in tape, but it really is a model to model decision.

    Great video mate! Would love to know how much you thin your vallejo/mig acrylic paints, looks like you've got a really nice coverage there. Already eargerly awaiting your next build video :)

    • @HammerheadModelMaking
      @HammerheadModelMaking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I usually only add about 10-15 thinner to vallejo and Mig paints, I find that they don't need a lot, just enough to improve their flow out of the airbrush, any more than that and I find they they become very translucent.

    Oooooooh, Aaaaaaaah, Lovely thanks Brett.
    About 5.24 - ish. They're not the seat disconnect handles following ejection are they?
    And 10 min in, how do you know if it's going to be a tail sitter. Do you just know or are there more technical ways of finding out?
    Oooh, and at 20 mins (ish) where you were spraying the "Correct green" over the "Wrong green" where you didn't mask it off, it made for a lovely colour transition.

    • @HammerheadModelMaking
      @HammerheadModelMaking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've just come to really distrust any model that sits on tricycle landing gear at this point, been burned too many times thinking the model would be fine and wouldn't be a tail sitter, only to have to be a tail sitter, so I'm just overly cautious now and generally will put nose weight into any model that isn't intended to sit on its tail. But, some things you can do early on in the build is to tape together all of the major parts and try and get a sense of where the center of gravity would be, this can get you a rough idea of if it will sit on its tail or not.

    Amazing work as always Brett 👏 what are your thinning ratios for the ammo paints and what PSI are you spraying at?

    • @HammerheadModelMaking
      @HammerheadModelMaking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      With ammo paints, I will usually only add about 10-15% thinner, they don't need a lot and I've noticed they tend to be very sensitive to over thinning. I will generally spray they between 15-20 psi.

    Hello mr.head. have you ever lost your mojo?and how did you deal with it when?with sticky greetings.christian

    • @HammerheadModelMaking
      @HammerheadModelMaking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Christian, yes, I do often loose my mojo. I've found a few things work to help deal with it. Recently I was working on a full resin engine for an Eduard spitfire, and when I got the engine and engine mount installed I apparently made a small error and the engine mount wasn't aligned straight. That really killed my mojo. So I boxed it up and brought out something completely different, a tank. I find that switching up what you're working on can help a lot to get your mojo back. Tired of planes, try a tank or a car! Also, I have a kit that I know so well, that I know I will have fun working on. The Airfix P-51D in 1/72 scale. If I'm ever in a funk, I can always count on that kit to help me out of it!
