It’s a shame I don’t have hgtv anymore. It used to be my favorite channel but then they went to the bottom of the list only playing shows like property brothers for a full day at least 3 days a week. I got tired of watching shows that were not reality and just a bunch of paid actors going by a script flipping homes that weren’t in any way possible as the way they portray them being done What happened to the original hgtv that had home ideas and gardening shows throughout the day/evening? I hadn’t seen one gardening show in months when I pulled the plug on it. Sorry hgtv, I’m one of thousands you ran off with poor programming and don’t plan on returning but this show looks good and would love to see it and maybe I can find the show online somewhere hopefully
HGTV needs done competition. It’s become slick and one-dimensional. They’ve turned over the programming to the Property Brothers. Where are the gardening shows? Why aren’t they showing more passive design? Why do they follow trends, e.g. farmhouse? I can go days without watching H(G)TV.
This show is INSANE ! I am an amateur flipper and to watch this MASSIVE SCALE of a renovation is mind boggling.... and to watch a COUPLE do it.... even more insane.... I’ve got to wonder if the marriage will survive this.... I guess it does because now I’m watching Renovation Inc.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE their shows.... I cannot stop watching ..... BRAVO 👏
I love this family. I read some comments that have a negative vibe, but we must remember whether Sarah wears beautiful clothes it is a TV show about their “Real Life” but even given that why shouldn’t she wear beautiful clothes to do her work? I don’t own a pair of dirty jeans to do my gardens ... I wear beautiful clothes (that I can afford)... Bryan and Sarah are great parents, they are true Canadians and I cannot even imagine doing what they do. That’s called professionals! Keep up the good work guys! Your kids are awesome and yes if Lincoln needs to go elsewhere for school that’s no different then we send ours to a college that is miles away!! Getting to your resort is on my bucket list ! 💕💕🥂
Chuck Strong I don’t think it has anything to do about attention for one’s self .... that’s her wardrobe. Love a confident person. I guess being Canadian I don’t see the negative? Stay safe, wear a mask and keep social distancing .
I had no idea that was a thing? Really? People are criticizing Sarah for her clothes? That's disgusting and sexist but it's probably women who complain about Sarah. I watched the show and I didn't even think about it. Her clothes are beautiful and normal. What is she supposed to wear?
With their background you would think they would have inspected the property better before purchasing it. Properties that sit so long are going to have massive deterioration which they didn't seem to realize until they found the termite destruction and the rotted drain lines.
When I watch this and reconcile it with Naked and Afraid, I'm reminded of many things. First, "Island Paradises" are actually brutal places to survive. There are so few resources, and bringing all the resources to so remote a location is an endlessly, energy-consuming proposition. It certainly isn't' "Green", no matter what you might wish to believe. We are lucky to have cities where so many resources are so readily available, for little energy cost to distribute. I wish them the best.
They didn't mention my favourite show from Bryan, his Disaster DIY. If you haven't seen it, he goes to homes where people have attempted renovation and failed. He then teaches them how to put it together properly. It's lots of fun!
Bryan, i wondered where you went when you disappeared off my TV. You and Sarah are great! This was quite an undertaking. Kudos to both of you. I hope you’re very successful and make tons of money!!!! Yeah!
Awesome for the kids like Swiss Family Robinson and I have to admit it looked daunting all the termites etc wow what an undertaking good luck to y’all and thanks for sharing the adventure!
HGTV Canada has so much better shows than the US. I couldn't live without DIY network and HGTV back in the day NOW I seldom watch either. The same old same old. Bring back the the 90's.
Lori Smith the “G” is back. Martha Stewart has her new gardening show there (Martha Know Best). Though I do miss Yard Crashers, my favorite of the Crashers shows.

But “hey Brian lets make a deal!” Cheers, hope all works out great 👍 cheers🍻🥂🇨🇦🇺🇸👍
This is one of my favorite shows on HGTV. Would love to be a guest at this breathtaking resort! But unfortunately this will never happen. *Well over* our budget. 😔. Not meant for middle class people.
Surprised that the gym is that poor for a resort like that. A gym is an important factor in choosing a destination. A gym almost without windows in such a paradisisiac environment is beyond me...
It's Too Late to Apologize oh people COULD travel, but sadly many chose to believe the MSM bullshit and “quarantine” and shelter in place. People, get out and live your lives! Be safe about it, be responsible about it, but LIVE IT!
Bryan's first show was Disaster DIY... great show! He gets called in by an frustrated partner/neighbor to fix/finish a project someone has done very poorly. Some taunting is done through the process for comedic value, but as a viewer it's great to see the methods being taught and materials being used. It's several years old, so the design is not up to today's standards, but the guts of what's behind the walls still applies. Renovation Island (Island of Bryan) was great to watch, I hope other viewer markets get an opportunity to see the past shows Bryan and his family have done over the many years.
I noticed several comments describing the show as fake. I for one find it very entertaining and although I’m sure some of the dialogue and crisis is scripted it is far more realistic than the staged drama in Christina in the coast or live it or list it. Fortunately we don’t have to watch the shows if we choose not to. I hope HGTV starts airing more shows like this or Good Bones and get rid of shows like Christina and Hillary.
Watch HGTv 70%for yrs. Now! 25%. Too Slick now. Hey ! We’re’s the Gardens in HGTV ! The network owns , Gardeners Diary , etc. how about tours of America’s Great Gardens need new ideas at the Top! Who driving the Network , Ad buyers !
I don’t know. I love seeing people with a $100,000 -$200,000 renovation budget. Really speaks to the average person just trying to purchase a $100,000 home. Can’t stand any of these shows where the buyers have 1 million dollar budget yet walk inside a house and complain about the color of a wall or off color wall outlets. Hey idiots, buy a few gallons of paint and actually do something for a couple of hours.
@Brittany Martin That's too bad for you. She's a lovely, generous person associated with charities in Canada. But then again, basing an opinion on a few episodes of an edited series... you do you. Smh at the need for the hate when what we all need is a little more tolerance and understanding right now. It begs the question of why hate watch something? Some people, just miss the high school drama I guess
Show should have been named the "Oiling of Bryan". If a real business plan was done on this project, they would have realized that this will never have a positive cash flow. Too much reno, too much staff, expenses, and will never be booked to capacity. This project is going to suck them dry, if it is even real. Who knows if they have outside investors or plans to sell it (if possible) after completion.
@@Nanatoeight-wj5ng Yea, you and Lauren T tell em. She's constantly changing things and not communicating with her husband. Then thinks it's cute. It's not. The made up drama is stupid. We're only watching because we want to see the finished product. Hopefully this show will bring more tourism to South Andros Island. It looks like a beautiful place to visit.
Brian has had multiple hit series on HGTV CANADA and has a legit successful construction business in the Toronto area. He is self made. And has made tons of money. There's no "family money" from past generations funding him
What the problem with with that? The kids are learning how to make their own money one day. Besides inheritance only makes a child lazy and narcissistic.
I didn't realize that Americans didn't have Island of Brian...or House of Brian Season 1 & Season 2 (In The Sticks) OR the cottage season! Do you guys have Scott McGuilvary's shows? Or Sarah Richardson? Sarah Keelyside and Bryan McCourt?? Or Paul Lafrance and the Brolaws and Kate Campbell??? You also don't have the good love it or list it (Vancouver)... What the heck IS HGTV usa anyway? Just 300 seasons of House Hunters International?!? PS I love Mina and Jasmine but we have them on HGTV Canada too
It seems like we have 22 hours a day of the BS series Property Brothers with an hour of 10 year old house hunters episodes and an hour of chip and Joanna Gaines. It got so bad that I disconnected cable a year ago cause it wasn’t worth the $100+ per month just to watch reruns
genevieve m we have them sometimes.. haven’t seen Sarah except with Mike Holmes .. not Scott in a long time. I did see Brian’s show and the show they built their house . .. this renovation island is advertising to air on HGTV here .
I cannot beleive that he used gpyrock and wall paper in a humid climate build , They seem to think you can build like we do in Canada or the US . I can see it in year or two, that wall paper will start to peel off and curl in the corners and a few rain storms later the mould will start, everyone and anyone that travels to beach resorts in the tropics like that use cement block, it would have been so much cheaper, would have been local and you can make cement block look just as good as wallpaper! The cost over run was so crazy and so unnecessary. It looks beautiful now but I give it five years and they will have to start to do some major redecorating. good luck to them, kind of pricy for my wallet.
WOW YOU ALL GET WOKE the couple lives separate lives, have multiple nannies and said on this show that they shipped their oldest son to boarding school because they had to re: island educational situation. That must SUCK for him or he's used to it. I have fam that work for them. Nothing is real as you see it on the show.
In the second season, before the end of summer they decide that it would be best to send ALL their children with the grand parents, to a nearby island, to start the school year. So it's a reality show, that people put themselves out in front of the public, to see their lives, some of it true and some of it edited, they get paid, and they are also left to public scrutiny, even douchy things to be said about them.
I love this show. I however have a hard time watching Sarah, changing her mind so often on her designs. Also she is over the top on details and finishes. I could see it in their own home. But visitors will not appreciate or for the most part, care.
i am sure he has lost jobs because of her. he may have talent as a contractor but someone should have told him there were many more beautiful, kind, sweet fish in the see, and that he didn't;t have to marry this sea serpent
scripted for sure, no way an experienced contractor does not inspect mechanicals and the roof. And you don't reno interiors without fixing the roof. And the wife is annoying. Not sure how he deals with her
I can't watch Renovation Island any more -he is so sarcastic and a know it all ,and EVERYTHING HAS TO BE HIS WAY ALL the time or he whines and crabs about it . He cuts her down for everything .I don't know how she stays with him. I can't watch any more, it is too upsetting.
they know that. the marine environment is brutal. I think it took Bryan a while to understand that but he figured it out pretty quick. when you live on the water, you just accept that there will be WAY more maintenance and repairs than living inland
I can’t figure out what has happened to HGTV? I will not watch the Property Brothers, I absolutely can’t stand Good Bones, the Mother/Daughter Show is the worst show. Get that show off TV please. I do like love it or list it. I think some of these couples need to better screened. Some of these couples are terrible & have no business being on the show. Some of these couples want to put a little money into their homes & want a lot more done to their homes. Some of these couples are plain unrealistic about their remodeling. Some of these couples are unrealistic of how much money they want to spend on a new home. Either way these couples haven’t done there research to be on this show. I personally think HGTV has gone downhill. I do like Home Town & Bargain Mansions are my favorite shows on HGTV.
The show frustrated me, they painted all the villas white and they looked so pretty when they were pink and orange and blue, they had more of a Bahamas feel before, I don’t even know if I want to watch anymore
What absolutely bugs the crap out of me about this show is the wife wears a different outfit in EVERY SCENE and never wears the same thing twice. Her clothing budget must be more than the entire renovation. Also, if he is such a hot shot builder, why does he do work in the wrong order, such as completely renovating the inside of a building before he fixes the roof. Then when it rains (which it does every single day in the Caribbean) he has to do it again.
Bryan is supposedly a contractor. So, why is he continually surprised about the damage he comes across in an oceanfromt property that's been deserted for 10 years? I understand they want "drama", but how stupid do they think their audience really is?
Not sure any contractor from Canada could anticipate the amount of subterranean termites damage and corrosion from salt. Knowing about it and seeing the actual damage can be pretty overwhelming!! Been there.
Finding this difficult to watch! Feeling Sarah’s frustrations with not being heard! Not understanding why Bryan is always frustrated with her decisions! As a woman architect, I would have a very difficult time working with someone with this regard for his colleague or wife. This is not portraying an equitable relationship and is certainly not a good example for our daughters. There is very little positive energy between these two!
Show is really about the wardrobe she brought. She has never showed up ready to work and every scene she has a different outfit. If she went home the show might have some credibility.
Rosanne Connolly No. Because if she showed up in her work clothes, people would still have something to say about that. So what? Her clothes aren’t a factor.
What are your favorite shows from HGTV?

genevieve m we have them sometimes.. haven’t seen Sarah except with Mike Holmes .. not Scott in a long time. I did see Brian’s show and the show they built their house . .. this renovation island is advertising to air on HGTV here .
1969Vanessa G what??
We used to have Scott and Sarahs shows which were my favorites. Now we have Property Brothers :(
Would love to know their secret to a happy marriage! 😃. They argue a lot! Lol
I want to visit when the Pandemic goes away so I hope they survive this Pandemic.
Amazing show
I thought that they built a house across the water that they built on a big rock ???
The show fascinated me but the wife annoyed me so badly.
He put up wallpaper because his wife insisted on it. It seems he gives in because it is just easier than arguing with her
WOW YOU ALL GET WOKE the couple lives separate lives, have multiple nannies and said on this show that they shipped their oldest son to boarding school because they had to re: island educational situation. That must SUCK for him or he's used to it. I have fam that work for them. Nothing is real as you see it on the show.
Guess the money's good.
@@vancouver4sure omg it's insane. That's only tempting reason to sell out your family
@HIS Footprints OnWater nope to everything you said
@HIS Footprints OnWater ok thanks sheeple
Yes, I find her kind of annoying. She designs, someone else is doing the work, and then she whines.
scripted for sure, no way an experienced contractor does not inspect mechanicals and the roof. And you don't reno interiors without fixing the roof. And the wife is annoying. Not sure how he deals with her
Why they showing repeats.. We never got to see the end of this series... I wont watched again!!
Hariklia Plastourgos the series ended with the opening hours away. It was on March-Apr
Oh no I’ve been waiting for there opening
Here in Texas we love the show!!
that explains why people tolerate the blond attention seeking Sarah
And the very very best part is the Bahamian Government got Las Palmas restored for FREE!
I love this family. I think they awesome
This project was a massive waste of time and money and a poor investment. It's unlikely they will ever see a profit.
Love your show
I can't watch Renovation Island any more -he is so sarcastic and a know it all ,and EVERYTHING HAS TO BE HIS WAY ALL the time or he whines and crabs about it . He cuts her down for everything .I don't know how she stays with him. I can't watch any more, it is too upsetting.
But he knows what he's doing, otherwise everything might fall down.
Cool Show!!!
Opened in Feb. 2020👀👀👀👀 COVID says hello to your business 😖😖
She said bahamian a very interesting way 🤔
Good show but the wife is a controlling witch who always wants her way.
Sara is absolutely beautiful. Her blue eyes make me weak.
Bryan is absolutely beautiful. His manliness and intelligence makes me weak.
@MsWhoEverWhatEver are you jealous? Hasn’t anyone ever told you that you’re beautiful? Maybe now you know the reason.
Also those finishes will not hold up. People are coming there to vacation and party. Sand, sunscreen, oil, alcohol 🍷. Not Good !!!
they know that. the marine environment is brutal.
I do like Home Town & Bargain Mansions are my favorite shows on HGTV.
watched one episode found her to bossy and never watched again
John French she’s the designer. Too bad you didn’t watch more episodes they work well together
🤣🤣🤣🤣 my wife says the same thing about Sarah. I don't mind her at all, just doing her job I guess.
The show frustrated me, they painted all the villas white and they looked so pretty when they were pink and orange and blue, they had more of a Bahamas feel before, I don’t even know if I want to watch anymore
sophia page really they were painted those colours? The episodes I watched were white with various shades of water damage.
I love Bryan and this show but Sarah is driving me nuts. How can he put up with her? She acts so jealous of her husband.
#JUSTSAYIN
LOL she seems to be a drama queen and likes to spend money...lots of it. She should stay in her office
John Cole Their entire 550 sq ft must be her clothes closet.
John Cole who cares what she wears? It isn’t important to the show.
@@Nanatoeight-wj5ng What planet are you from???? People watching her make up 51% of the audience.
Drew Johnson I know that. But I still don’t care what she wears, most of times it’s the production company that provides wardrobe.
John Cole maybe they’re just trying to show that Canadians have good taste in their attire!
My girlfriend watch TV I want to want the new renovation island season 5
Bryan is supposedly a contractor. So, why is he continually surprised about the damage he comes across in an oceanfromt property that's been deserted for 10 years? I understand they want "drama", but how stupid do they think their audience really is?
Not sure any contractor from Canada could anticipate the amount of subterranean termites damage and corrosion from salt. Knowing about it and seeing the actual damage can be pretty overwhelming!! Been there.
That's not nice Ms Mason. CMJ
Watching the reveal episode tonight. The husband is being a total jerk!
Of course he is. MEN
I love this show never missed a show.I really would love to visit here it's so beautiful lots of hard work on both sides.
Too bad the average Canadian can’t afford to stay there.
Sure they can.
Exactly
Show is really about the wardrobe she brought. She has never showed up ready to work and every scene she has a different outfit. If she went home the show might have some credibility.
Rosanne Connolly what shorts and T-shirts and sundresses? As far as working who do you think did the designs, searched products and prices?
Rosanne Connolly No. Because if she showed up in her work clothes, people would still have something to say about that. So what? Her clothes aren’t a factor.
Jealous?
I never noticed her clothes or his. Don't care about what they're wearing.
Sarah isn't a designer. She's a dancers. Nothing more. The show went down hill after she joined the show.
Totally agree - I usually don’t write bad things but totally agree with this
When will Americans finally learn that the Bahamas is not in the Caribbean!
When Canadian hotel operators stop marketing them that way.
Wait What? I thought it was
More like that boring island call Bermuda!🗾🌴!
It is dumny ...
Very simple job, if you have millions.
