hatten Sie vor dem Wechsel gejaultes geheule gehabt ?
Guys please torque them with the torque ranch because it's easy to ruin the threads and I highly recommend to change the fluid with Red Line differential fluid, it will last a lot longer
Unfortunate there is no RL oil that will have MB approved spec for these differentials.
Not if you know what you are doing
@@LOTPOR0402 Either RL are MB spec or not.
what's the torque specs on the rear plugs?
@@mbiker7 50NM or 36.8 FtLbs or 441.6 INLbs
thx for this video : Do you have the original numbers of the dreain/fill plug?
Unfortunately I don't, sorry
Does it base on miles or year for the interval to change this fluid?
It's always both
@@dcfgarage I’m guess you mean whichever come first on the E500? so what’s the the interval for mileage and year?
Good vid and explanation
Whats the NM for the Drain and Fillplug?
snug
@@dcfgarage roger
50Nm
where can i find oil fill pump??
Amazon, autozone, aliexpress
I have a 2004 E500 and I get a shudder when turning sharp do you think it my differential
Maybe if it's 4matic
or could be the ball joints, i just replaced my lower ball joints and lower suspension link bushing and i rides way better now and no squeaks
The drain plug… does it have a compression washer? I think I remember reading somewhere that drain plugs should have at least a new compression washer when replaced, as old washers can sometimes leak. Same for drain plugs for engine oil. For the cost of a washer, I guess it’s a worthwhile precaution. But that’s maybe me being a bit obsessional, lol.
the differential doesn't
Actually Mercedes procedure is to replace the plug every time. But if it’s not leaking, I don’t believe you “need” to replace it.
@@dcfgarage I think it must be standard procedure. I’ve noticed when my car comes back from routine service the cost of new bolts is itemised on the invoice. I’d have to look up the past invoices to see exactly what items required new bolts (and I think washers), but they didn’t cost much (compared to the labour!). In years gone by I did most servicing myself. Maybe I should go back to that! I still have all my tools, so…
How many miles has the car
142k miles
Mb 235.7
I have a 2003 E500. My differential is effed up.
Sorru to hear that. It’s probably something you can get cheap at a junkyard
What are the symptoms of a bad differential ?
@@-stayblessed-8866whining or possibly grinding sound. There also may be play in the gears which you will hear when starting off from a stop.
Bought a car and realized afterwards it probably hasn't have rear diff fluid changed ever. I'm gonna have some fun one of these days... 380000km and first diff fluid change 😂 fuck me
Wow! Good luck!
Fill plug must remove first, common sense
Thanks
