  • I've had this engine disassembled, parts in boxes for a long time. I finally made some time to put it back together to see if it would still run.
I made one new gasket and replaced some missing bolts.
It still needs a really good cleaning. The bearings are gummed up with very old grease and a worn/missing bushing on the power piston connecting rod is making some noise, but otherwise it seems to be in pretty good operational condition.

Originally these were built and used as fans. I haven't done anything to it other than make a new gasket, replace a missing bolt and get it running again The same basic engines are still being produced and used as small 12 volt DC generators (about 15 watts) sold on eBay from Pakistan.

@@peoplesresearchcenter6184 I assume the kerosene burner makes it spin faster? The torch having such a narrow flame seems like it wouldn't heat as effectively. I have a little desktop Stirling engine. I wish I had a fan like that it's so cool.

@@poisonduckee Hopefully the kerosene burner will work better, but I don't really know. I need to buy some kerosene. I may upload another video. The propane torch was all I had available at the time.

@@peoplesresearchcenter6184 please do I would be very interested in seeing that. I'm also curious about how much heat it would put out. Initially I was thinking that this was pretty neat, burn a little kerosene to cool off... But then I was wondering maybe it heats up and it would be used in the cooler months. But yeah, I would have done the same thing. Who has kerosene haha.
