Aly Ariel yes, protective styles are so great for retaining length. U part wigs or half wigs are a great way to start. I’ve been making natural curly u part wigs to wear and I’ve worn it for two years (different ones), my hair was shoulder length and now it’s mid back. Keeping your hair braided up and well moisturized is a good way of achieving long hair like hers
Her hair grows average though, basically each year on average (world wise) women grow 6 inches which means by year 3 you should be 18 inches but majority of us don't retain length. Of course some of our hair grows slow but if after a year your hair is the same then more than likely you're growing hair even if slowly but not retaining length

@Rose Palmer I rinse all the product out my hair befor the clay then I shampoo after. I don’t like apple cider viniger being left on my hair. But u can use a moisturizing shampoo since it’s basically clean. Then deep condition. Let me tell u ya hair bout to be looking and feeling like life

I am LOVING your hair growth and journey overall! You’re goals AF foreal. I just big chopped and it is a process and I am very insecure about it as well. I tried rice water on my hair too and it dried it out soo bad!! I realized that the rice water is a strong protein treatment and for low porosity hair it can tend to dry your hair out and mess up your curl pattern. I stopped using the rice water and double down on the moisture and my hair snapped back. I can’t wait to see your new hair cut and I def think you should get color. You’ll look bomb either way.

You should try uncle funky’s daughters curly magic gel cause I feel like as your hair gets longer the eco styler and wet line is a little too heavy for the length weight of your hair now. It still looks good but I think a lighter gel but with still great hold might be a better alternative now for moree definition
New to your channel. We have very similar hair textures. PP shedding was terrible for me. My hair was the same length as yours before I did my big chop. My big chop was super impulsive. I had no damage. But just wanted a change. Now I want my hair back !!!! Lol. Love the video love.
You should go to a natural stylist who specializes in wash and go’s since that’s one of your go to styles. I’d love to see what they could do for your hair and show you some new techniques 😍 but this is the best your curls have looked in a minute!
