  • Hi Curl Friends! In today’s video we’re talking hair steaming for natural hair. One easy way to not only revamp your hair routine, but also show your scalp and natural hair extra love, is to add hair steaming to your routine. Hair steaming uses moist heat to open your hair follicles and pores allowing for deeper moisture (water) absorption. The steaming process creates a humid environment that is perfect for moisturizing your hair.

    I get my hair professionally steamed twice a month is called a deluxe steam treatment and the lady I go to does an incredible job. It was me about 140 each time I go. I decided to purchase myself a steamer. I never felt something so good to my scalp and hair before the best way I can describe it is I can feel my heart beating in my scalp all my hair, strands moving, and my whole head breathing is like my scalp is having a orgasm I can feel the blood flowing through my head and I literally just feel every hair moving individually all of them…. And the feeling never gets old.

    Thank you for this! The salon experience, for me, has been disappointing in the last few years, especially for the price. I'm tired. Going to just take time and do things at home. Thank you for this!

    I wonder if the OG’s remember the Huetiful Steamer??? It was black owned and everyone had one like 10 years ago. I have no idea what happened to mine but I will definitely reinvest in one. My hair was on the grow back then.

    Yea I got my steamer from Amazon for $62 they had the same one in a local store for $109, so shop around first ladies. Also with the packaging, be careful to remove all the pieces before disposing of the boxes like me. Luckily Amazon sent me another one 😁

    Yes, I have a slight situation now 😉 love the steamer, I gifted my daughter that steamer, easy to put away, I purchased the steamer on wheels. Like always great content and beautiful results, I was using a shower cap at first and then tried your method without, the steamer has really lessened my frizz balls on the side

    Onece a week is fine no more than that because of:Hygral fatigue, also known as over-conditioned hair, is a condition that occurs when hair is given too much moisture and doesn't have enough protein to strengthen the hair cuticle. This can happen when someone uses too many moisturizing products and doesn't include protein treatments in their hair care routine. God Bless.💝🙏❤️

    7-10 days is how often you are to steam your hair. Please don't overdo the steaming. It will give your hair the needed moisture your dry hair needs. Good luck.

    Great video! Thank you for this information. How different is a hair steamer from hair dryer? Hot oil treatment/sitting under dryer vs Hair product and sitting under steamer?

    • @agentkelli93
      @agentkelli93 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Idk if you got your question answered, so I’ll answer lol! A steamer introduces more moisture using water to your hair. The heat of the steam also helps to open your cuticles which allows the moisture from the steam and whatever treatment you’re using to penetrate more deeply. With a hair dryer, the heat also helps open your cuticles to help your treatments penetrate more deeply, but doesn’t add any extra moisture like the steamer does (water =moisture).

      @NaturallyShauniece  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Chiniqua! Thank you for choosing to subscribe! I really appreciate you joining our Curl Friend community. I actually forgot to say that you should never wear a plastic cap under the steamer because the cap will act as a barrier to the steam penetrating your hair. So no plastic cap. You can steam for any amount of time. I usually do 25 minutes.

    So steaming my hair has been really beneficial in my hair growth journey. I wanted to know, would you or have you added anything to the distilled water for an added boost? Is it possible without damaging the steamer? Like clove or rosemary water steam for an extra kick. Please let me know. 😊

    • @NaturallyShauniece
      @NaturallyShauniece  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh this is a great question. You actually should use distilled water for electronics and the manual says to use distilled water to avoid mineral build-up; I don't follow directions. LOL!. I think you should be able to add some lavendar drops or rosemary drops into the water tank as it steams. I'm actually going to try this. Thank you!

      Oh no! I'm sorry you're having a bad experience with this steamer. I've had a great experience and it's weird because you're doing all the right things. There's tons of other options for hair steamers. I recently purchased a steaming cap, and like it, but it doesn't actually steam the hair.
