Plasma was trying to convince trainers to release their Pokemon so they were the only ones to have them. That was the point of N winning the Pokemon league, he would have enough societal influence to convince the citezens that plasma is correct. Then ghetsis would reveal himself and take over
No, you're conflating what Ghetsis' intentions were, and what N's intentions were. N actually wanted to free Pokemon from humans, Ghetsis just wanted to take over the world.
No, N actually believed in releasing pokemon. In one of the flashbacks, he explains to a grunt that the pokemon they use should be released after they have finished their job, and he's shown releasing the pokemon in their respective routes before moving forward
Ghetsis was using N. He convinced his adopted son that he cared about Pokemon too and he would help them. Don't you remember the end when ghetsis has his God complex rant and calls N a freak?
This conflict made by old Plasma 2 years ago then the new Plasma making a civil war against N's followers and caused the Swords of Justice to appear all over Unova because they're afraid that the same conflict happened several years before Unova even existed.
I understand these are your opinions but most of these are just you nit picking. The gym badge and team plasma is actually explained in game. You complain the the resort area is too far north but sinnoh literally has the same thing and practically in the same spot of the in game map. Then you complain that their aren’t enough nurses on every route to heal your Pokémon because you some how managed to get beat down by everything and you don’t want to spend your money on potions and healing items (like dude seriously). You say you don’t want the game to hold your hand like the newer ones but you didn’t like that the rivals are actually up to par with you.
i though this while watching and to add on you can run from wild battles and also the complaint about how rotation battles tainted triple battles to me doesn't make sense and lastly the culture complaint just losses me
Thank you so much! I agree with this wholeheartedly. I’d rather have a game as challenging as this rather than gen 6 & 7’s rivals being super easy to beat, being able to heal yourself super quick, and a majority of rivals, gym leaders, and elite 4 members seemingly not being able to have a full set of 6 Pokémon.
i disagree with a lot of these (although gen 5 is my favorite, so that's kind of a given), but mainly number 6. yeah, it can be hard to understand, but it's explained ingame that most of team plasma didn't actually want pokemon to be released, they just wanted power over the unova citizens and so decided that they (non-team plasma) shouldn't be able to have pokemon. i think that team plasma was excellent, but maybe that's just me. as for the colress thing, his name itself is literally a pun on "colorless" (or achromatic in the japanese version). his whole character revolves around his moral ambiguity.
Nah, a large number of Plasma grunts did want to release Pokemon, and were waiting for the big plan to pay off so they could. Many of them actively resist Ghetsis in the sequels.
@@SonofSethoitae Yeah, but that's actually the minority. Most of the grunts actually did want to help free pokemon in the first game, but the reason they turned into terrorists in the second game is because their King, N, seemingly betrayed Team Plasma, so most of them no longer wanted to free pokemon, and just turned into full on bad guys. There was a minority of people in bw2 who stayed true to their goals and regretted their actions, but compared to the entirety of team plasma, it was a very small percent.
Kevin Urrutia exactly, after gen 3 they started making games more for longevity, but if they planned to close down DS servers, then they should’ve known nobody would be able to get trade only Pokémon since very few people had more than one DS.
Yeah like imagine playing on an emulator and wanting a gengar and leveling up a gastly/magmar/timburr to smth like lvl 50 and ending up realizing you need to trade it
6:38 they literally say that cheren just takes over for Lenora as the normal type gym leader he even gripes about not having his usual team. He didn’t change the badge because he wasn’t changing the typing the badge is associated with.
@@KhanMann66 atleast in those games there was an event where we chased the badguys with our rival. Instead of *blackscreen* Oooh noooes :( they ninjad away
Just gonna debate your points a little here. #6 You said that the leaders of Team Plasma are all "horrid people." Well yeah they are an EVIL team. It's obvious you didn't actually read what was happening and I get that it was supposed to be a joke but in a game about battling pokemon the evil team is gonna need to be able to do that. #5 Yeah pokemon geography has always made sense, toootally. It's almost like it's a JRPG and uses the same grassy, desert, ice, water areas since gen 3. #4 It's almost like locations and professions can change. That was the new starting town so why not put a gym there to make sure the kids getting pokemon were ready for their journey. It most certainly is a petty thing to get hung up on and most of these are you nit picking anyways. #3 This sounds like you'd rather just mash A on your supereffective moves than think about what to do in a few turns. Heaven forbid a JRPG try to make their battle system actually interesting. It's obviously not gonna be perfect the first time it's implemented. I would love to see rotation battles come back in some way, shape, or form. Also there's like one optional rotation battle in the entire game so you are literally just complaining to make your video longer. #2 A region based on America having sports. Also a very tiny part of one city in the entire game meant for grinding purposes. Yikes dude you are past stretching for points to get this video to ten minutes. #1 You're actually complaining about a pokemon game not going easy on you. That is pathetic.
Cheren adresses your point in #6. He asks a couple of grunts about their hypocrisy, and they clearly state that they planned to release their mons afterwards. It was all going to be temporary.
Cheren also addresses him not using a better team as a gym leader in BW2. He complains about not being able to use his usual team right after the battle. :P
@@WDeesaster Team plasma split off after the first games. Most of them did plan on releasing them, ghetsis was just lying to them. Some of them decided to stick with ghetsis, so they didn't follow that plan.
@@thatoneguy1350 the point is using real annoying features the game has, not making them up while leaving other regions with the same problem untouched
I loved BW when the games came out (or at least a fan-translated rom anyway), so I was hyped to start watching the anime again. ....And after the TR vs TP cancellation, it just got really bad. Like, I could handle Ash losing to Trip since Pikachu couldn't use its electricity and he was caught off-guard by that, but after that, it seemed like he became even more of a rookie... And Kalos had potential (Lys, Malva, and Syca are all interesting characters with unique relationships that don't get fleshed out fully), but all of it's scrapped until we get XY remakes.
And the Anime SHIPS. 1. INCEST! (Chili x Cress- WHY DOES IT EXIST THEY'RE TRIPLETS WITH CILAN) 2. Iris is like... idk, Ash's age? And Cilan to me in in his 20s. That's a bit of a big age gap.

The main contributor was that they didn’t make the 3rd version that would just make the other two redundant, but instead continued the story and expanded upon the characters for another full game. Ultra Sun and moon did this too, but Alola didn’t have as much of a story to work with as Unova did.
this video was very petty... the only point that seems okay ( enough ) is the Rotation battles, the others i felt like you were nitpicking to make a longer video
I’m pretty sure these comments are saying this because your favorite game is BW or BW2 and you just don’t want him to criticize these games. That’s what I feel like most Gen 5 fans are like. Most just complain about genwunners and get mad at people who don’t agree with them.
Utility wise, they didnt seem that bad to have around to me, but I knew well not to attempt to use them compeitively. I think most people just hate their silly designs.
Triple Battles, along with Hordes, were most likely removed in Gen 7 because they would have made the games too laggy and awful. I mean, you saw how bad it lagged when there were 4 Pokemon the field, right? Adding 2 more would make those battle styles unenjoyable and be tainted all over again.
People complain about the ice cream pokemon but let me remind you have EGGS THAT EVOLVE INTO A COCONUT TREE. And dont tell me there seeds they can use egg bomb. And somehow these eggs are psychic. The ball is now on your court genwunners
I agree that Exeggcute is utterly terrible, and it always will be. But for me personally the defense of "It's just as bad as before" doesn't fly, because I want it to improve over time, not coast. That's why I think so many of the Pokemon from the newer generations don't sit as well with me, because they've had time to get better but not all of them have...
@@emperorcubone personally i have nothing againts eggcute but people complain on pokemon designs and saying Gen 1 did it better. In my own opinion what makes a better pokemon designs isnt the look but the moveset, stat line and if its evolution and evolution requirments. The "look" on the pokemon is hard to judge with a unbiased opinion. If magikarp were to release in gen 7 and was switched to wishiwashi. I would think people wouldnt like magikarp and call it a lazy pokemon design. They pokemon designs are getting better. Gen 5 has made bug type a good type again but besides that i like your video and i agree if your statement
well they're plant monsters Living organism like animals are born from eggs and plants are born from seeds. The thing they have in common are that Seeds and Eggs are the start of life.
Numer 1 is interresting. That never botehred me as much as in other regions. I felt that Sinnoh's route was longer because Sinnoh Routes doesn't makes any sense, and Mt Coronet. And Johto have a similar problem, but Johto's only point is exploration, so.. It all boils down to a pretty subjective mindset actually. How fun is it to explore this region ? All your points seems odds to me honestly. It's not necessarily wong, they are some really interresting points, but I never thought about them that way before. That would actually be a compliment, I think : I'm an adamant fan of Gen 5 for different reasons, but I can see it on a new light.
Yeah, thanks. I wanted to look at it differently than just saying, "It's got the garbage Pokemon!" and things that people have complained about for years...
I think you're making an interesting point about Johto. I LOVE the Johto region. Gen 2 was the first generation I played and is still my favorite. And I Love exploring the region. I loved revisiting and exploring previous caves, such as the Union Cave, Slowpoke Well & Mt.Mortar, not to mention all the other non mandatory, hidden locations throughout the region. One of my favorite aspects from Gen 3 was the HM Dive and the ability to explore the sea-floor, finding new underwater areas and other hidden spots only accessible via Dive. So I'm definitely a person who Enjoys exploring.
Dahxelb One part that really marked me in Johto was the three trainers you fight on Route 34's secret beach. It wasn't much, but it really was a reward for exploring. The story takes the back seat, and Kanto is totally free progression wise, so exploring really is the heart of the game. There's actually a Crystal Hack that transforms the game into a true open world, Crystal Clear.
I liked how tough the routes are Especially since I have no problem splurging my cash on healing items after revive becomes available It didn't really matter that much to me
I appreciate Team Rocket's simple effectiveness and Team Skull's unpretentious attitude, but Plasma were also one of the better evil teams. Gen III had two teams of idiotic extremists, with one wanting to advance the human civilization by creating a full-scale drought and the other deciding the world would be better off if everything was flooded into oblivion. DPP had Team Galactic, who seemed one step ahead of the heroes, but had a leader with incoherent goals yet again. Being supposedly emotionless and possibly perfectly logical shouldn't mean you have to rid the world of emotion, and even trying to destroy the world to accomplish that to boot. It's such a cliche and overused "straw Vulcan" trope, which is a load of Tauros. XY's Team Flare tried to combine Team Rocket and Team Galactic all in one package and failed miserably. Their garish outfits and "money talks" mentality were icing on a particularly bad cake. Team Plasma were an interesting team of different characters with different philosophies. Even their grunts weren't all cookie-cutter blindly-loyal henchmen. Some characters were just thugs and psychos, some believed in the cause, some just had selfish motivations. Also, it's not necessarily hypocritical for the true believers to fight with pokemon if they see it as a necessary evil to succeed in their goals until they win. If they'd refuse to release them even after that, THEN would it be hypocritical. Lastly, Ghetsis is the first threatening main villain with an actually coherent goal since Giovanni. He's not there to destroy the world to "make it better" according to some crappy ideology, he just wants power.
I havent played diamond gen or the color gen, so I cant say I know anything, but I do understand being annoyed by long routes with no healing. I wouldnt want to spend an hour trudging through trainer battles in a field, then immediately have to enter a cave, and there is no way to heal except using ethers or potions or walk all the way back through the field to heal in town. That essentially doubles the time on the route and for no pay off. How can you know if there is an important battle if youre playing blind, or if there is going to be arena trap Pokemon that forces pp use?
it was mentioned that team Plaza only used pokemons to execute their Main Goal which is to liberate the pokemons... otherwise how would they do that then??
Really, it seems like Plasma was divided into two factions, and this was further illustrated in BW2. You have the people who followed N, who genuinely believed that Pokemon should be free. And then there were the people who followed Ghetsis, even after his real intentions for domination were made clear (and in fact sympathized with such motives).
They could easily had used non-violent methods to achieve their goals. We know that they made speeches across the region, but we only saw it twice. Team Plasma would be more believable if they didn't use pokéballs, or if they just turned other people against you, instead of just being villains you had to fight.
@@Bear0601 Please don't say sweetie in the youtube comments. It makes you look like those kids bullying younger kids whilst not being all that old yourself. Anyways, I think he knows that the region is not perfect, but Unova is pretty solid. Sure there are not a plethora of things to do, but you still have some great pokemon, difficult trainers, and a fun story.
I love the fact that the routes are long it makes the games last longer and more fun. If you get lost that is just apart of the experience. It's like that in real life too. Sometimes you have to get lost to find your way.
1. I never saw a problem with the routes but I guess that's a fair argument. Although I don't think the rivals really get that strong. 2. Half of these are even more idiotic nitpicks. Although yes I agree somewhat with the other half. Something like the pokeathlon dome or whatever it was called would be cool. 3. Just don't play rotation battles. There's like, 3 mandatory rotation battles in the story I can think of. None of which are too important, nor do they take much time at all. When people complain about this, it stops game freak from wanting to be creative. It also ruins rotation battles for the people that do enjoy it. Case in point when you complain about triple battles not existing in newer games. I mean, I guess the AI can be complained about to an extent, but the gamemode should be left alone. 4. This is just so stupid. I shouldn't even have to explain it. Although I somewhat agree with the Cheren thing but it's still a nitpick. 5. The region could easily be south of the equator. That's such a stupid nitpick. I don't think the ice caused by Kyurem makes entire sense because it most likely would either travel to humilaugh city, or just melt. However, this is a completely idiotic nitpick. Game freak could just say "Kyurem's ice and it's effects stay within a specific area." This is a game where people fight with all-powerful creatures that have god-like powers, and where someone over 5 feet tall can fly on a 30.5cm Pidgey, and you're complaining about this? 6. Team Plasma was trying to convince people not to have pokemon so they could be the only people with them. And even if that weren't the case, their morals could easily be that they will release their pokemon once their dream has been realised. That is a fair set of morals. Also, Colress didn't have to care about what his inventions caused. He was a selfish sociopath. That's the point of his character.
6 (Plazma) I agree with you on this though it makes me laugh hearing them be double crossers of their own word. 5 (Location of a City) This piece is a bit tricky to understand but I'll say that Pokemon games and their locations are at times a mess (Alola for the example) But I agree on the fact... ice like Kyurem's would only hit a battlefield or aimed at with some work. 4 (Gym Badges) ...In the game, they explained why this happened. Seriously, that was all it would take to get the complaint fixed. 3 (Rotations) This I fully agree with you on. Sure, there's not a lot of INGAME trainers to do this with but I had fun with it against real players. In fact, I felt this could replace 1v1 battles as it would remove hazards mostly from being as effective. It could have its own meta of thought. 2 (Culture) Trust me, I feel like this is something that was overlooked and one of the few points he made that makes sense. 1(Traveling) People who haven't trained...they clearly need some help to know when to get more into the game. Sorry if you aren't liking me complaining about your complaining.
@@Yinyanyeow i actually agree with you mostly and think you have solid points. thank you for giving your opinion im always up for civil discussion here :)
I liked rotation battles. If your main complaint is just the switching thing, that's all competitive battles are, this just gives you more of a heads up of what they can switch into.
To me the Sinnoh region had much longer routes and even larger caves to navigate throught (Mt. Coronet). Two perfect examples are route 212 and 210. They take AGES to navigate throught! Like seriously! They could as well have made the two parts of them seperate routes as they have nothing in common! One part is a swamp area and the other a mansion. And for the other it is a regular forested area and a foggy valley. They could have fixed it by splittring them into seperate routes, add a place to heal plus removing the fog.
You wouldn't have a problem with the routes if you did buy items though. The trainer battles HELP keep the routes entertaining enough. Unova is by far the easiest to level because you are given the Lucky Egg so early on and Audino are almost on every single route. 2 or 3 battles and your pokemon should be ready for the gym. The rivals are also pretty easy if you are consistent with training.
Ugh.... I got enough of people complaining about one of the best regions ever! And I know why, it's because sinnoh was overrated and unova is so different and people got used to 'the best region' of sinnoh and now everyone hates Unova

@@An00bis With B/W 2 they seemed to have fixed the late evolutions a bit. That early Volcarona was one thing, but also they gave you access to a whole bunch of classic gen 1-4 pokemon in the early game that you could not get in B/W where the Unova Regional dex only had the new Gen5 pokemon and you could not get pokemon from any other gen until the post-game.
I kind of enjoyed that actually, it always bothered me in the early gens that the max level a Pokemon can reach is 100 but you can beat everything in the game with your Pokemon still in the 40's or 50's, and then have no reasonable way to get them to 100.
There were members who believed in N's ideology of releasing Pokemon (and imo, them having Pokemon does make sense. Are you gonna try fistfighting some giant Krookodile? I think your arm would be bitten clean off. They would probably release them later after succeeding n their plans.), while there were members who were in on Ghetsis' scheme. At least, that's how I interpreted it. And I've always seen Colress as a bit of a sociopath, albeit not really an actively malevolent one like Ghetsis was, as he's willing to change his methods and isn't really out for conquest. Him being apathetic towards the damage his experiments cause and him not realizing emotional bonds with your Pokemon draw out the most power from them makes more sense then, so he tries for an artificial method. I think you hear of other sports teams if you watch TV, but yea, they would have benefited with sports arenas in other towns, or fleshing out how hey work with Pokemon. It's not one of my major issues tho. My number 1 is how grinding is reduced to how many Audinos I can kill and how slow grinding is if you don't do the Audino method, which is slow itself. Run for 2 minutes outside grass while waiting for a shaking spot, kill the Audino, rinse/repeat.
I can't lie, it REALLY sounds like you're trying to explain a balanced difficulty curve and a feeling of pushing for progress on routes sound like a negative thing.
The Unova region is based on the USA. So is it any wonder the routes don’t have the same quality healthcare, like the other countries in the Pokemon world?
It is based on the United Kingdom. The leaders of the evil team are based on noble mans from UK. There is an NPC ine Omega Ruby, who is speaking british english . Unovas legendary Pokémon are based ob european imaginations of dragon. In all unova are ancient ruins, wich is impossible in the USA, because of it's history. Last but not least there is a stream of warm water, that hits englands eastcoast, wich is solving the problem of having a tropical region at the north of a region. Since the warm climate comes from the sea, it makes sense to have icy region more in the middle of the region. All facts in that video are wrong, because gen 5 is great.
Man I loved rotation battles in the PWT. Him saying they were 'randomly switching' to me sounds like he's a water headed idiot who doesn't understand that the PC is predicting his predictions.
I feel like you don't understand team plasma but okay. You kinda skip the fact that it is clearly explained in the games so. Edit : okay so it seems like literally all of these are you kinda making things up and it's a bit weird.
A few corrections regarding Team Plasma: As far as the grunts knew, the plan was to release their Pokemon after they installed N as the hero and champion, and released all the Pokemon in the PC. N addresses this most explicitly in the Memory Link if B2/W2, but it's implied throughout Black and White. One of the Grunts in N's Castle remarks that he DID releases his Pokemon, and was puzzled that it looked sad to go. Several former members are seen in the sequels rejecting Ghetsis' new Team Plasma, quietly caring for abandoned Pokemon. It's unfair to say that they were stupid; it's more likely that they were swept up by Ghetsis and N's charisma. Regarding the leadership of Team Plasma, only one of the sages returned to Ghetsis' new Team Plasma. Of the three we see in the game, Gorm and Rood both identify as ex-members, Zinzolin is explicitly back with Ghetsis, and the others are neither seen nor referred to. Althea and Concordia, as well as several other members are also seen resisting Ghetsis in B2/W2. So they didn't "all turn out to be evil". Team Galactic's goals are much more unclear than those of Team Plasma.
The number 6 point was talked about in-game, how they only use Pokemon so they can take and release other people's Pokemon. In the battles you have with him, N's team always consists of Pokemon found on nearby routes, showing that he releases his and gets new ones. They HAVE to use Pokemon in order to achieve their goals.
I'm baffled by #1. This was the first game to extensively feature healing NPCs and rest houses on major routes. Older games had one or two , but in gen 5 they're EVERYWHERE. Two of the routes you mentioned not only have rest houses, but the caves afterward also have healers lol.
I genuinely see Rotation Battles as a really crappy version of a wrestling style tag match. Setting it up as a sort of tag-in-tag-out thing with two possible partners would have been a bit better than the literal switchboard we were given.
Well, you covered the one part of Black/White 2 I hated the most - Pokestar Studios. No, I don't want to make a stupid movie. No I don't want to see the bad movie I just made. I would just like to skip the whole thing. But you can't, it's boring, and wastes 30+ minutes that you'd rather do something else with - like training.
You can just release the movie and leave thankfully, pokestar studios is the most boring slog, even worse than contests in Hoenn but those at least we're optional
i understand the exhaustion from the route above driftveil but that is my favorite route in the whole game! i love how natural the west side of unova feels, and i loved that route for the fog and all the sawbuck and deerling you can see. the mushroom guys (forget their names) also make the place feel more alive!

Number 6: Team plasma was already evil in BW, but they wanted to show themselves as a non-evil organisation. That's why they manipulated N in his youth, to become the king of team plasma. They wanted N as their king, because he can speak with Pokémon and can understand them. Later, when N came to realisation team Plasma was in fact evil, he left Plasma. And because of that, there was no reason anymore for team Plasma to let everyone believe they were good, so they revealed themselves as a bad organisation in BW2. Number 5: There are more regions with that problem, like Sinnoh. They have snowy areas, next to normal area's. In Unova this actually makes sense, with Kyurem being the Ice Pokémon who created this icy places. Especcially when Kyurem came under control of Plasma, who used Kyurem to freeze entire areas. Number 4: There are more examples of npc's who had to start all over again and had another team. In this case is makes sense. Multiple gyms dissappeared from BW. Cilan, Cress and Chili stopped to create a restaurant, and improve their pokemon in battle. Brycen stopped to make a career as an actor to search the truth in live. You already discussed Lenora. Cheren gave up on his dream to become champion (from BW), and wanted to become Gymleader. He saw the opportunnity when Lenora stopped, and he replaced her as a normal type gymleader in the new discovered cities in the South west of Unova. But his team wasn't ful normal type, so he had to start all over again and create a mono-type normal type team. Number 3: it also doesn't make sense (in a single battle) to do a move, and then wait for the opponent and hoping it misses. In the anime you can do multiple moves after each other, but the battling style in the main series Pokémon games is different, but nobody complains about that. And about the rotation battles, I can agree that there is no such thing as strategie against a computer. But in a one-vs-one, there is no kind of strategie either. The computer doesn't (99 procent of the time) switch out, and will do weird things, such as spamming setup moves, knowing that it will die in 2 turns. It is just a case of spamming strong and super effective moves. But against a real person, a rotation battle is full of strategie, such as expecting if he will swap or stay when he is poisoned. Number 2: makes sense what you say, but you can also dat that about other things in the other Pokémon games. Number 1: What you say, makes no sense at all. People complain about the ease of some of the Pokémon games, and then YOU want to make them even MORE easier. One of the multiple raisons why Unova is my favourite region, is because it is relatively challenging. When you clear a long, difficult route or cave, or if you beat this game, you really feel proud, and when I beat Sun and Ultramoon, I really didn't feel proud, because it was too easy. I never grind in any PKMN game, but Alola was still very easy while not grinding in any way. I really want more challenging PKMN games, and the long and difficult routes are one of the raisons why gen 5 is my absolute favourite. In short, Gen 5 is the best in my opinion and I don't agree with what you say in this video.

When it comes to the Basic Badge, I like the more positive thought that Cheren was able to use the experience he gained from the last game and onward to establish this school for trainers from a newly expanded Unova. So it seems very fitting that he'd become a Gym Leader and allow Lenora to focus on maintaining her library and museum, while serving as a well-minded teacher and admirable opponent (his fight as GL is still 😫). Also, like Bianca, you even get to fight him at full strength post-adventure if you played the previous games. So I don't see your point in him being underpowered and the badge being sent off somewhere 'at random'
The sad thing is, none of these are why people don't like the region. Some people, not including me, just don't like that Pokemon. That's pretty much all.
Now, my biggest Unova's problem actually is an obvious one : the Pokémon. Now restricting the game to only new Pokémon is no problem for me, even if it lead to some understandable issues. A drastic change in graphism that lead to a huge backlash, and many great Pokémon ended up unjustly forgotten. No, my issues is that they didn't asumed totally their choice, and this ends up making no sense at all. Let's talk about the most glaring issue to prove my point : the Dreamyard. in Black and White, if I makes a few step to the souuth, or go down a stair, I face common Bug Types and Ratticate. Why can't I undestand Ledyba, Kricketot and Rattatta during my main journey then ? It just feels artificial, and put me out of the game. If they introduced regional variants in this game, it would have actually makes some amounts of sense, but here it doesn't feels natural. It's liek any of the numerous roadblock you generally encounters : It's just artificial. That leads me to another issue I specifically ahev against Black and White : the pacing. The entire East part of the continent is blocked out until post game. Now that isn't that much of an issue in itself, but it makes the game really short, and leads up to another big issue : opposing ennemies in post games are hugely overleveled. This leads to some weird thing when I saved the world with my team at around level 50, I'm the champion ...and I ended up beaten badly by the first trainer i encounter in a new route. That.. doesn't make me want to explore those new territories, after such a mood whiplash.
I think Team Plasma only fight with Pokémon because that is their only means of getting people on their side: with force. Brain-washing is an option, but it's hard to brain-wash a whole society. Fighting 'fisty-cuffs' wouldn't really go down so well when the opposing side has a fire-breathing lizard and a tortoise with canons on its back on their side. I firmly believe that Team Plasma aren't hypocrites, but no hate, just my opinion. That's what I love about your vids in general: they spark great healthy discussion in the comments, and this vid is no exception. Keep it up! 😊 Edit: About the Basic Badge... Cheren took inspiration from Lenora; as an academic himself he looked up to Lenora and eventually took over her position when I decided to focus on academia over battling. You said yourself that maintaining a gym in a museum probably wasn't feasible so they simply moved to another location that was most convenient for Cheren/didn't already have a gym in it/was in a suitable locale (ie not next to say, a volcano: a spot that doesn't exactly scream normal-type)
Plus, in the first games, in Plasma Castle, when the PC system is being hacked into and Team Plasma thinks it'll successfully release all of the pokemon that are in PC's that Amantia oversees, a bunch of Plasma grunts are in the process of releasing their pokemon. So at least everyone who wasn't Ghetsis or the Shadow Triad planned to actually follow through.
I hate that about the newer games. I don't need 150+ but would 100 kill you? Maybe it's because they're worried about bloat now, but it makes the games slightly lackluster.
OIII IM SO EXCITED FOR THE BW REMAKES seeing as its gonna be a long time and the graphics are already amazing I cant even begin to imagine all of the beautiful sights in unova with such good ggraphics

Hi, new to this channel, neat video. I think it's actually pretty thought-provoking to talk about the issues with the science in a fictional world. Just wanted to say I appreciate that angle in the early part of the video c: Also, you know what I think Pokémon should consider doing, that might fix issues like #1? A lot of JRPGs heal your character when you level up. It's bothered me for YEARS that Pokémon has never done this!
Ahhh, good ol' Gen 5. The last region that featured a good amount of Pokemon, even if some of them were rather....controversial, to say the least. I wonder if perhaps that's why Gamefreak started going with far less than a usual, higher number in later games. Because they figured that since Gen 5's Pokemon were largely more hated on than prior games, both for being "unoriginal" and for the soft reboot aspect of them making them so similar to Gen 1's selection, it would've been better just to start introducing less each new Dex and region, to either focus better on the few they were going to include to try and fix those issues, making them less controversial, or simply decided "Hey, if our usual ton of new Pokemon are going to be hated on, why even bother adding that many anymore in future games. Perhaps just cut down, and see how that goes in terms of our capability to please the fans.". Or something. The latter of the two is just a more cynical or pessimistic view I may or may not slightly hold on it personally, and the former is the more likely one. Regardless, though, I feel as if the general hatred toward the Gen 5 Pokemon, is the reason Gamefreak cut down the Dex and regional Pokemon numbers to, what now, what seems like only half of what they used to be at best? Lmao. I do miss the big Dexes, though. And personally, I found Team Plasma to be a welcome breath of fresh air, a return to the Team Rocket roots somewhat, so to speak. Ever since Gen 1, the evil teams were all about destroying the world, or the universe. Either directly (Cyrus and Team Galactic), indirectly (Team Aqua/Magma), or wanted to wipe out the majority of the population (Team Flare). With so much destruction after the Gen 1 games, it was nice to see a villainous team that DIDN'T want something on such a massive scale. But one that was far more down to Earth, potentially even moreso than Team Rocket and their greed. And of course, I adored the deep reasoning behind Team Plasma's actions, even if it was just a facade for a power hungry dictator-to-be. Team Plasma really had a moral debate going in-universe, and I wouldn't doubt amongst some of the players at first too, about if what they had been doing all their life in-universe, was actually right, or if they'd been doing wrong all this time. Which, it takes a lot to pull off. If speaking from the terms of the respective worlds. Inside the Pokemon world for the NPCs, and in the real world for the players. I'd argue that, potentially, Team Plasma were the single most thought provoking villains ever, so far. With the most thought provoking intentions, surface view anyway. And even in B2/W2, they had a more interesting dynamic than most, what with the ones who reformed or didn't agree with what they realized was going on behind the scenes, basically splintering off and becoming somewhat, pseudo to plain out actual good guys, more or less, and i think some even helped you minorly here or there, or gave you Pokemon that would be useful later in your journey, or even against Neo Team Plasma (The Zorua/Zoroark they give you through the memory link) Or just stepping away entirely to reform their lives. Most of the teams that had dissent from the goal before, were members after they'd been disbanded or right at the end of the goals as they were foiled. Not actively as they were still being carried out, as with Neo Team Plasma essentially. Afterall, Neo Team Plasma is merely a continuation of Team Plasma's goal, without the front/facade from the originals, because it never really ended there, as it would've in most games. So it was still active well into the second versions. However, you do have extremely valid points for all of these on this list. I really enjoy this series, because it reminds everyone that nothing is perfect, and nothing, no matter how good it may seem to any or all, is without it's flaws. Either to some, to half, or to a majority of peoples. Keep up the good work, Cubone!
7:06 Well I always figured gym leaders use different Pokémon. In Gen IV you can rematch gym leaders and they have Pokémon of far higher level. I don't like Blue as a gym leader and I think they should have gone with a different character who does specialize in ground types. Or they could do what they did in the anime and have Agatha be there and specialize in Dark types. Blue should have been in the game but I think somewhere else as an optional boss. Maybe around mt. Silver.
No, I don't have any problems but u do make me realize one thing and that is....... There can be a noob in pokemon games, those routes aren't that long and don't tell me u don't know how to avoids those trainers !!......

Colress didn't care about injuring anyone because he cared about the strength of Pokémon. That's all he cared about. He wanted to see just how strong they could become.
Let's compare to my region again, but first some clearups for you from this gen 5 fan. (Also i think you missed the one on the gen 4 vid) 1: Humilau City could exist with warm water streams, wich irl allow Western Europe to be warmer than Canada. 2: Cheren offered Lenora to take over her position for a while because she was too busy with other stuff. Now compare: 6: The evil teams are not against Pokemon battling, so no issue. 4 and 5 aren't present in the region at all. 3: Rotation battles are not a thing. We have other new battle styles there already. 2: Not a problem. 1: There is a desert route that's supposed to be a big maze and a massive mountain route/cave, so i'll admit, guilty. Also route 5 is short as heck.
I see where you are coming from on some of the Routes feeling lengthy. I guess I never noticed because I was too busy exploring every nook and cranny and catching all the Pokémon in the area before moving on to the next town.
Humilau is right next to the other tropical resort town from the original game. Which is next to an active volcano that can help cancel out the Giant Chasm's coldness. Usually people complain about the linearity and the Pokemon designs. Most of these complaints I've never heard from anyone else.
Having played since the beginning, generation 5 is honestly my favourite. It has by far the most interesting storyline, and for me had the perfect balance.
This is referring to number 6, in your first encounter with Team Plasma (with the Muna) they say that once they achieve there goals they would release all their Pokemon. Plus N catches Pokemon then releases them right after, so yea.
@@robertlupa8273 and genfourers And genthree-ers And gentwoers And gensixers And genseveners And geneighters With each gen there comes a new breed of the genwunner.
1:30 Okay, I can actually explain this one. Pretty much, they only use the Pokemon that they have to to free them. It is implied that they'll release the Pokemon when they achieve their goal, at least until Ghetsis reveals his evil plan that the grunts don't know about.
The part about Humilau City being next door to the Giant Chasm is a good point. Having a tropical area near an icy cavern/canyon is a pretty extreme climate change. Maybe if the city had been moved near the P2 Lab, it would have made more sense. Plus, it would have been a nice trip down memory lane.
I think number 6 actually builds onto the lore, as it's revealed in B/W2 That Ghetsis was actually trying to own every pokemon in the world so he could take it over.
Ok so you are wanting the game to be easier even though most of the Pokemon community has been wanting a harder game with less hand-holding? I think Unova was very well made and it gets hate for the dumbest of reasons
🎶~You're a triggered Unova fan, please go off yourself~🎶 😚🎶~You don't wanna except that you're region ain't perfect, now go to your safe space~🎶😚 No region is perfect, your nostalgia just makes you cry online 🍼🍼🍼
I mean, sometimes, when you fight team Plasma, you’ll notice using Pokémon from the general area. They probably release them after a battle, and just have them for a few minutes
The fact this released on my birthday infuriates me even more. This entire video has been nothing but nit-picking. It's obvious you're hating on Gen 5 just to hate on Gen 5. So now, I'm going to systematically pick apart each and every one of your points. 6. The whole point of Team Plasma is that they're hypocritical. They say they want Pokémon to be free of their trainers, yet their leader just wants to be the only person in the world with Pokémon so he can rule it. In fact, Black 2 and White 2 make sense for the change of their organization. Peaceful protests didn't work, so then they turned to extremism. A lot of movements have their peaceful protestors, and then their radical extremists. 5. Sinnoh did this too, yet I don't see it in your Top 6 Problems with Sinnoh. Maybe you realized that talking about geography in a Pokémon game is stupid, especially since we've never gotten a canon map of the world of Pokémon and the placements of reach region. 4. ... You're complaining that the Normal-Type Gym in Black 2 and White 2 is unoriginal because it reuses a previous character and a previous badge... What? And where does it say that a badge has to stay in the city it originated? They literally moved the Normal gym to the starting city as a way to ease trainers into Pokémon battling. It's literally a Trainers' School! And of course Cheren would be the "teacher" of the gym. You literally find him in the Striaton City Trainers' School in Black and White! 3. Rotation battles are an interesting idea GameFreak put in the game to spice up battling, especially since they hadn't done anything like this since double battles in Generation 3. It's a little gimmicky, I'll admit, but it's not as gamebreaking as you're making it out to be. Also, why are you thinking about the in-universe mechanics of battling? If you do that, then you begin to wonder why they allow trainers to heal their Pokémon mid-battle. Doesn't that seem unfair? 2. So you're saying that they needed to go above and beyond on a very small and missable area of the game? Boiling America down to sports is actually insulting because that's not all we care about. Sure, it would've been nice to be able to play sports with Pokémon, but we already had that with the Pokéathalon in HGSS. Doing the same thing the next generation would've felt like a cheap knockoff. I'm sure that's why the Pokémon World Tournament was added in B2W2 as well. 1. Now you're complaining about how you can't turn your brain off when you play the game and have to think about *gasp* strategy. It's like GameFreak balanced the trainers you encounter so that you'll have more of a challenge. Also, just buy healing items. I get you want to save money for balls or whatever, but if you're not going to catch all the Pokémon in the game, you might as well start spending it. I have never seen a video that has had more bias than this one. I noticed that you didn't mention the "terrible" Pokémon designs because it would make you seem biased, but you still come off like that. Maybe address some actual issues with the generation, like the EXP curve, and not nitpick things that everybody else finds okay. Just a heads up for future videos.
I agree with you, but still, he was right with some of his arguments, the fact that Sinnoh did that too is not a reliable counterargument to deny the geographics of humilau( I dont remember how its written) being a tropical paradise next to a icy hell cave with a monster made of ice that his power creates blizzards all around him or could froze the entire city of the dragon gym is kind of dumb. Still, I think that this video could have brought some other interesting problems with the region, I can not think of one because its my favorite gen, and im not good at judging things, but it has to have some problems
1:28 that’s the point they are supposed to a Hippocratic organization showing how noble goals can be corrupted. It actually genus especially for a kids game showing how cults of personality can develop around charismatic figures. How someone who claims to have Nobel goals can manipulate the populous for power. And even when their goals are revieled to be malicious the cults of personality still exists and the followers become more and more radical. N is the surrogate for this dilemma as he represents how his goals are true but has being puppeteered by gethsis. Your reading of this text is very shallow.

I have to challenge you on #6 you say it’s confusing but then you explain it like the game does, but worse, and you still make it clear and understandable
Easily my favorite region. The map was perfect especially in black and white. It was a circle so you knew exactly where to go. X and Y we’re ok I guess and I enjoyed omega ruby and alpha sapphire. The new games are terrible in my opinion
xy were more of a circle with something in the center connecting everything. something that gen 5 didn't have as it seems less backtrack friendly gen 7 (atleast alola) was fine honestly and usum are some of the best games in the series
I’m surprised you had trouble keeping pace and couldn’t get through the longer routes. I found it pretty easy. Heck I even made a new type of challenge run where I literally had to release my entire team aside from my starter after every gym battle and catch new Pokémon on the next route. Also there were restrictions on grinding. Just to make it more challenging. And I still breezed through thanks to the way they changed how EXP worked. Honestly those long routes were the only thing keeping it from being too easy. Edit: the gym battles were suitably challenging and super fun though

Yeah. Its pretty much Word Domination in the "Political Sense"

@@nounm5465 i love blackand white, but black 2 and white 2 were painful to me.
You say you don’t want the game to hold your hand like the newer ones but you didn’t like that the rivals are actually up to par with you.
i though this while watching and to add on you can run from wild battles and also the complaint about how rotation battles tainted triple battles to me doesn't make sense and lastly the culture complaint just losses me
Agreed ....I totally agreed with u guys ......
Yeah I noticed that the Team Plasma section was just like silly.
He seems to skip over alot of it for the sake of making up a problem.
Thank you, saved me everything I had to say. I was baffled when he actually complained about Unova being too hard, like seriously?
i disagree with a lot of these (although gen 5 is my favorite, so that's kind of a given), but mainly number 6. yeah, it can be hard to understand, but it's explained ingame that most of team plasma didn't actually want pokemon to be released, they just wanted power over the unova citizens and so decided that they (non-team plasma) shouldn't be able to have pokemon. i think that team plasma was excellent, but maybe that's just me. as for the colress thing, his name itself is literally a pun on "colorless" (or achromatic in the japanese version). his whole character revolves around his moral ambiguity.
edgyTM I also agree. I like that Team Plasma had a different idea compared to all the other evil teams.
I used to call Colress "Colorless" because I didn't know how to actually say the name and same goes for Ghetsis which for me was "Genesis"

I’m pretty sure these comments are saying this because your favorite game is BW or BW2 and you just don’t want him to criticize these games. That’s what I feel like most Gen 5 fans are like. Most just complain about genwunners and get mad at people who don’t agree with them.
My 6 problems with Unova are...
1. Pansage
2. Simisage
3. Pansear
4. Simisear
5. Panpour
6. Simipour
So in your opinion, pansage is worse than simisear?
genius XD
Utility wise, they didnt seem that bad to have around to me, but I knew well not to attempt to use them compeitively. I think most people just hate their silly designs.
pansage and simisage are great. the others shouldn't exist.
That's true. They are such a waste and shouldn't exist.
The optimization of the games is awful
One of the many reasons I don't like Gen 7
People complain about the ice cream pokemon but let me remind you have EGGS THAT EVOLVE INTO A COCONUT TREE. And dont tell me there seeds they can use egg bomb. And somehow these eggs are psychic. The ball is now on your court genwunners
I agree that Exeggcute is utterly terrible, and it always will be. But for me personally the defense of "It's just as bad as before" doesn't fly, because I want it to improve over time, not coast.
I like the sports complex, it's good for grinding, as the pokemon levels go up according to how many badges you have
I liked how tough the routes are
Especially since I have no problem splurging my cash on healing items after revive becomes available
It didn't really matter that much to me
I appreciate Team Rocket's simple effectiveness and Team Skull's unpretentious attitude, but Plasma were also one of the better evil teams.
Your thoughts on unova were the worst thing I will ever see in my life how could you even try to complain about long routes
he needs more hand holding mechanic like a bus ride or something.

^^^^^^
Yeah, they were going to release then afterwords even though Ghetsis didnt want to do that. He wanted to be a king.
Just because there's a justification for their actions it doesn't mean that it's less nonsensical

I love the fact that the routes are long it makes the games last longer and more fun. If you get lost that is just apart of the experience. It's like that in real life too. Sometimes you have to get lost to find your way.

😚🎶~You don't wanna except that you're region ain't perfect, now go to your safe space~🎶😚
With his final issue being the game keeping pace with him, I'd hate to see how he feels about Blaze Black and Volt White
Colress is a very neutral character, he only worked with plasma because of his science, even beating him still doesn't make him change completely

Oh, believe me, I covered that last time. I am NOT a fan of the marshes in Sinnoh...
yeah, now THOSE were some painfully long routes. I still get nightmares about Mount Coronet...
@@sammisomara same imagine not having repels on you lol 😂

#1 problem should have been that the new pokemon from this region seem to evolve at ridiculously high levels.
Oh, that is SO true! Haxorus, Braviary, Hydreigon... Volcarona!!! I can't bother to use them because they don't show up until after the Elite Four!
@@emperorcubone You can get a Volcarona at lv 30 at the Desert Resort in B/W 2
@@An00bis With B/W 2 they seemed to have fixed the late evolutions a bit. That early Volcarona was one thing, but also they gave you access to a whole bunch of classic gen 1-4 pokemon in the early game that you could not get in B/W where the Unova Regional dex only had the new Gen5 pokemon and you could not get pokemon from any other gen until the post-game.
Emperor Cubone Haxourus evolves faster than Dratini line, but the others just take way too long for too little benefit.

A few corrections regarding Team Plasma:
As far as the grunts knew, the plan was to release their Pokemon after they installed N as the hero and champion, and released all the Pokemon in the PC.

No region is perfect, your nostalgia just makes you cry online 🍼🍼🍼

Great video man. Number 5 really threw me for a loop lol
You're not wrong. There are a dozen or so really awesome Pokemon from Unova, but beyond that, I don't really care for a lot of them...
Ahem. Pokemon League has Level 75+ Pkmn team in the post-game just to claim the title
Yeah, you technicaly didn't beat the champion. But still, it was quite harsh.
You are joking about this unova had pokemon like krookodile line and conkeldur line how could you even try to complain about this
Mamta Srivastava You didn't read the post, right ? I love those new Pokémons. That was never the issue.
I mean in B2W2 they fixed that issue
8:43 where that rotation battle picture is from? it does not look like gen V... more like gen IV...
The Team Plasma thing can be explained, PETA.
I love how he just said a thing about Team plasma and everyone (including me) just jumped over to defend the team lmao
Keep it up! 😊
Edit: About the Basic Badge...
After Unova, Gen 6 beyond's Regional Dex was now below 100.
I hate that about the newer games. I don't need 150+ but would 100 kill you? Maybe it's because they're worried about bloat now, but it makes the games slightly lackluster.

One question, at 5:13 does anyone noticed that one of the badges of the top row (7th from left to right) resembles the new pokemon Meltan ???
Keep up the good work, Cubone!
i got bored in the third line

Well I always figured gym leaders use different Pokémon.

He wanted to see just how strong they could become.
team plasma was great, what’re you on about?
1:49 what exact moment in which game is that screen shot from?
Let's compare to my region again, but first some clearups for you from this gen 5 fan. (Also i think you missed the one on the gen 4 vid)
1: Humilau City could exist with warm water streams, wich irl allow Western Europe to be warmer than Canada.
2: Cheren offered Lenora to take over her position for a while because she was too busy with other stuff.
Now compare:
6: The evil teams are not against Pokemon battling, so no issue.
4 and 5 aren't present in the region at all.
3: Rotation battles are not a thing. We have other new battle styles there already.
2: Not a problem.
1: There is a desert route that's supposed to be a big maze and a massive mountain route/cave, so i'll admit, guilty.
Also route 5 is short as heck.
you know sinnoh had like the longest routes right?
I see where you are coming from on some of the Routes feeling lengthy. I guess I never noticed because I was too busy exploring every nook and cranny and catching all the Pokémon in the area before moving on to the next town.
The whole thing about the basic badge is clearly explained during the game you just need to read.
#7: Those heckin’ genwunners.

Top-notch video. Excellent, well thought-out points; it's another winner for the "Problems" series!
1:30 Okay, I can actually explain this one. Pretty much, they only use the Pokemon that they have to to free them. It is implied that they'll release the Pokemon when they achieve their goal, at least until Ghetsis reveals his evil plan that the grunts don't know about.
yay a new vid i can't wait for more keep up the good work and i agree with the things on the list
Sees video title
"You better watch your mouth"
I think number 6 actually builds onto the lore, as it's revealed in B/W2 That Ghetsis was actually trying to own every pokemon in the world so he could take it over.
Ok so you are wanting the game to be easier even though most of the Pokemon community has been wanting a harder game with less hand-holding? I think Unova was very well made and it gets hate for the dumbest of reasons
It has the dumbest of problems only second to sword and shield

@@PinkGoldAbby didnt have to go that deep, they arent triggered they just didnt really understand the points
Smh u can heal while at village bridge. There is a lady in one of the houses who will say “yo foo u look finna tired so rest here 🅱️” and u will be healed up.

For the Plasma complaint and how they are against using Pokémon but use them anyway, they state in the Dreamyard that they use Pokémon for the sole purpose of liberating Pokémon, so I wouldn’t say that’s being hypocritical.
Like Thanks and the infinity gauntlet

@@PinkGoldAbby telling someone to "off themselves" over an opinion as innocent as this is just disgusting.
I know Unova has problems, a lot of problems, but what region doesn't? I never said it's perfect, I think you greatly exaggerated my words in your mind.
And simply expressing my love for Unova isn't "crying online" as much as it is voicing my opinion. I never said I disagree with the video, I never said I am triggered, angry or whatever. The only thing triggering me is that you are most likely trolling and that I am supposed to feel like my opinion is invalid, since y'know, this is the response I get to it.
Anyways, opinions exist. Get used to it. Have a good day.
Plasma's end goal was to take over the world with there being no one with pokemon to stop them.
When that failed, back up plan was to threaten people with ice bombardment. This makes perfect sense; you just have to read.

Rotation Battles: No

I have to challenge you on #6 you say it’s confusing but then you explain it like the game does, but worse, and you still make it clear and understandable
Easily my favorite region. The map was perfect especially in black and white. It was a circle so you knew exactly where to go. X and Y we’re ok I guess and I enjoyed omega ruby and alpha sapphire. The new games are terrible in my opinion
xy were more of a circle with something in the center connecting everything. something that gen 5 didn't have as it seems less backtrack friendly
gen 7 (atleast alola) was fine honestly and usum are some of the best games in the series
Man I freaking loved Unova. (I know this video isn’t meant to really hate) I just hate how much hate there is on it :(
My favorite generation.
