For those who commented on the wall color, I can’t speak for Jess’ parents, but I remember my Dad telling me that he chose pink, yellow, and orange (vibrant colors) because after growing up in poverty and moving from project to project with white walls, center block (gray), drywall, and no freedom to choose or change them, when he finally lived in a house/home where he got to choose, he just wanted COLORS (white, or any variation of it, and gray was the last thing he wanted to see because it’s all he had seen up until to that point)

Jess!! I grew up with my grandparents, so my current apt is my childhood home since they're no longer with me. I had to do exactly the same thing you're doing with ur parent's house. I went through many emotions of nostalgia, deep attachment to items that I grew up seeing daily & slight relief to rid the house of things I wish they would've thrown out. This video really resonates with me. Especially when you cleaned the china closet (I still own theirs) 😅 I still have some stuff to purge through, which I've been putting off due to sadness & lingering attachment. Thank you for this video, because it's definitely inspiring for me to keep going and continuing to make my house, my home! 🫶🏻

Aw my mom used to sell Avon and I still have my Princess House crystal ware that she ordered and eventually handed down to me🥰. I used to love the Avon nights too, great 90s/early 2000s core memory ❤

How tall are your parents? They always say to hang pictures at eye level and at 9:09,it’s ABOVE your head!😅😂🤣
Next time you style a bookcase,try spreading the books out to keep it from looking too top heavy. Also vary them with some standing,with a piece of decor as a bookend,then on another shelf,some laying flat with a picture frame resting on top,etc.
