    My family and I went there for a three day weekend two years ago. We loved it! Anywhere you go in Mexico, the food is always going to be great. The wine is great but we mostly enjoyed relaxing and enjoying food at several different restaurants.

    I will say my experience at Animalon was GREAT! It’s a very laid back experience as you drive in, then can seem pretentious once you walk in and discover the type of experience it’s meant to be. But it does not disappoint . I’m sure you left wanting more if you only shared 1 tasting, but I will say that each of us had our own tasting, loved it and will be back. I also enjoyed Doña Estela’s… 👌🏼. They are different vibes for different expectations. If your a foodie and looking to try a good concept I would not forego animalon but will encourage discovering and trying all that the region offers 👌🏼 Hotel Partana next door was a great experience as well. It was my first time in valle de Guadalupe and I’m trying to bring my friends back again soon

      While the food was undeniably delicious, we think our experience at Animalon would have been different if someone simply explained that sharing this tasting would not be recommended. It made for such an uncomfortable experience! Doña esthela was fantastic, however. Totally our vibe. Lots of good food to try in this area of Mexico.

    What a great video! Love the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s most important wine region (but by no means the only one…more on that later). Ohhh Animalon 😂😂 I would have checked out Bibayoff where they have incredible Russian empanadas and really good wine and a borscht soup which is good for the chilly evenings in the valley ! But loved all the places you went to and I hope you guys go back! Besides Tijuana and Ensenada/Valley, Tecate is a cute little town and Mexicali has the best Chinese food in Mexico and rivals that in SF and Vancouver for sure in the west coast and has a beautiful Chinatown called La Chinesca which has become a major attraction!
    Mexico has many wine regions and my favourite is the one in the Bajío region, especially the Querétaro-Guanajuato-Aguascalientes corridor (and other bajío states have great options too like Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Jalisco and Michoacán) but it has the backdrop of being in the most beautiful region of Mexico! Maybe I’m biased because I’m from Morelia haha but I love it here! I also love the bourgeoning region in Puebla too which has expanded to Tlaxcala and…Morelos! Great wines coming from this region, especially since Puebla was the first place where vines were planted in all of America in the 1520’s by Hernán Cortés! Great videos and glad I subscribed! Cheers! 😊

      @TouristtoLocal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So much good info in this comment! We had no idea about the Chinese food in Mexicali, but we would love to check that out! Soon we will be heading to queretaro to explore that wine region. Any vineyards in particular we should look into?? Thanks for watching!!!

      @@TouristtoLocal ah yes! Mexicali is known for touting their local cuisine as Chinese (Cantonese) food with a Mexican twist and even the drinks on food carts are green tea 😂😂 cold of course because Mexicali is so hot! But La Chinesca has been renovated and has so much history and many museums and more restaurants and places to visit (like their underground city where the Chinese had everything from stores to illegal casinos and opioid dens and prostitution….which all became a huge draw during prohibition in the USA of course 😂😂) but it is now called a “Magical Neighbourhood/Barrio Mágico” and it looks so nice near the historical centre!
      As for Querétaro…yes! Many wineries to check out! The city of Querétaro is a great hub and you should also check out the “Hercules” brewery where they renovated an industrial park and the hipsters have done a great job! Love the place! But also the towns of Tequisquiapan (the wine country hub in my opinion, try the wine and cheese ice cream combo! 👌), Bernal and Cadereyta which are all on the wine route.
      My favourite wineries are:
      -La Terquedad
      -La Redonda
      -Aztecs
      -Freixenet (great for sparkling wine and the largest I believe? It’s originally from a catalan family)
      -Vinaltura
      -Puerto de Lobo
      -Donato
      Also, San Miguel de Allende is very close to Querétaro and also is surrounded by great vineyards! The three states (Querétaro, Guanajuato and Aguascalientes) are investing a lot in their wine regions so there’s a lot for wine tourism in the region which is great! Querétaro has a “Ruta del Arte, Vino y Queso” and many hotels offer a guided tour that takes you to Freixenet and quesería Vai but the cheeses are very good in the region too but I recommend you drive yourself or hire a driver to take you to 3 or 4 different wineries! They all have great food too to accompany your wines! Hope that helps! Can’t wait for the Querétaro videos! Also…Real del Monte is nearby and it’s a little town with a lot of Cornish/British history where they make amazing Cornish pastys called “pastes” in Mexico and the town is very cute and English style…since you like those random towns that take you elsewhere 😂😂 the English cemetery is not to be missed and the little tea house in front of it! Where Mexican football/soccer was born thanks to the Cornish miners!

      OMG how cool!!!! That's going to be so nice. We stayed in an Airbnb, but didn't show it in the video since it wasn't our favorite. We went for a super cheap option but wish we picked something with more space. Your jeep should be fine, don't worry. That's the perfect type of car to have here.

    "Probably the best chicharron in Mexico" Really Martin?!?!?!? Dang im gonna have to go down there and try one.... or two! You guys took one for the team at Animalon. The best time to go down there is late winter early spring, because it gets HOT during the summer. My mom and dad had the opportunity to buy land in the Valle during the early 2000s but didnt because they thought it was too hot during the summers. Dang! Missed opportunity :/. Excellent Video "Like"

    • @TouristtoLocal
      @TouristtoLocal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That chicharrón was something else. We’d go back for that alone! February was perfect weather for us here. We can imagine that summer gets HOT!! That’s a shame your parents didn’t go for the land down here, but that’s understandable. While the business opportunities here are plentiful, the weather, roads, and water issues could make it difficult I imagine. Thanks for watching!!

    Do you check about sanitation of raw veggies? I’m always told to avoid lettuce in Mexico. I want to go to the valle!

    • @TouristtoLocal
      @TouristtoLocal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Veggies in restaurants are typically fine since almost all sanitize the vegetables before serving.
