Great weather. Miss New Zealand. Hope you have a great time and no more big storms. As for the phone. A very good first flip phone from Oppo. Reminds me a lot of the Huawei P50 Pocket. Though Huawei did a better job with the camera hardware and software I think.
I miss NZ, but not the weather which was terrible for my trip. Yes it's like the Mate 50 Pro Pocket and I think the ultrawide with the Huawei was better.
Thanks for the reviews and years of hard work sir! I was surprised to see no judder in the video pans since so many Android phones have that. It does throttle a bit too quickly though
For the complainers, flip phones are not targeted at pro photographers. They need a solid primary camera, and the one on this is one of the best. As for this versus the Flip4, it is evident that OPPO has done a much better job in most parts, and Samsung needs to up its game rather than relying on its monopoly. No gap when closed, less of a crease, wider aspect ratio inner display, more prominent outer display, larger battery, etc. Then when you add the pre-order price, £850 for the OPPO and £1050 for the Flip4 (same 256GB storage), you have to be a hardcore Samsung fan to ignore the truth.
Hence my title, it is the best of the flip style phones better than the Flip4 and P50 Pocket the hardware, outer screen and charge rate. Plus as you pointed out it's cheaper, the main camera does take a very good shot, only the ultrawide isn't so great. Overall the best Flip style there is to date. Samsung has to really step up.
The better flip phone indeed! Good build and hardware with a very good OS. The main shortcomings are the throttling and that somewhat ok camera performance. But these are compromises that come with this form factor I guess! The coast looks, absolutely beautiful Sir Chris👍. Thank you for the review and the great content ✌👏
Throttling was to be expected for this style of fold but it is worse than expected. The Flip4 also throttles a hell of a lot so it’s a common theme with the reduced size of it so yes a compromise
@TechTablets : Chris, as an Oppo ambassador can you please get in touch with your Oppo contact and ask details regarding to exactly what data/telemetry/information Oppo collects from the phone and sends to their servers, please ?
I would like to know as well. If anything's become more clear is that when something is cheap, we pay for it with our personal data. Hope it's not the case here
Glad that Oppo is trying to shake up the flip smartphone market with their N2 Flip. Z Flip3 is overrated whereas P50 Pocket, while a great one, is 4G-only & no GMS. Oppo also proves that flip smartphone can run as well on a Mediatek Dimensity chipset.
I prefer whatever is the best at the time and throttles less. But MediaTek is doing really well. Look at the Dimensity 9200 it's as fast as the SD8Gen2.
Mediocre photography and video with the "Hasselblad" name.. is hilarious. What is it in branding these days and what's the point of totally gratuitous naming for no reason or benefit that both no one cares about and denigrates the company that is supposed to be representing? We live in a world of Ultras, pluses, megas and name throwing where anything goes and nothing means anything. Poor performance, 5 years ago imaging specs, null progress or technological advancement of any kind. Forgettable phone, great review, thank you💕
Hard to argue with your thoughts, but marketing still rules the roost and explains why Samsung spends more than some GDPs of small countries; it works!
Great review. I like the hardware on this a lot and great that it is cheaper for a foldable. But its still no where near cheap and for that price the camera performance seems pretty garbage. No OIS is a big oversight and video overall looks disappointing, not to mention bad HDR and the ultrawide camera looks abysmal. Performance as well makes this more on par with a pixel 7. Unless you really want a foldable seems like a pretty bad deal next to a pixel 7 or 7 pro.
when I take a selfie on the cover screen, the picture comes out mirrored. On the big screen when I take a selfie it is the right way, so the settings are right. Do you know how to fix this?
Honestly looking great, especially with the crease and the bigger outer screen! Samsung really needs to UP their game and not rely on monopoly! Competition is always welcome; companies striving to produce better tech and quality products to compete with others, and with competitive prices too!
Don't get what they was thinking 🤔 with a poor 8megapixel Ultra wide camera .. Especially for the price ..It also should have the snapdragon gen 1/2 ..
I think OPPO was clever, and they know people buying a flip phone do not necessarily need the fastest chip; efficiency and thermals are far more important. I always thought that the Flip4 should have had a more efficient chip, but instead, Samsung throttled the life out of it, so it was pointless having the SD8+G1. Kudos to OPPO for being sensible rather than playing to the spec-chasing crowd.
This throttles quite a lot as shown just like the Flip4 but it's to do with the smaller size where the chip is less room to keep it cool. Even my new S23 Ultra throttles like crazy down to 35%+ the performance. My Tab S8 Ultra again throttles like mad, it's a Samsung thing they prefer to throttle than rather use better cooling.
@@Techtablets Most games play okay, though flip phones are not for gamers. But for casual gaming, for passing some time, the OPPO will be fine, and even better if you lower the settings. Not a deal-breaker bearing in mind the target audience.
hi i m disapponted about front screen is completly unusable ....... so i need always open the device.....and why dont use snap gen 2? samsung will win again

Great review, Chris. I really like the design of the phone. I think it's a phone that anyone who loves technology will like.
Thanks for watching! Yea the design is great for this style of flip phone and better than Samsungs.

Thank you for this video. May I ask if what is the IP rating of this phone? Planning to buy one.
No ip rating

I’ll ask and see if they can let us know.
I would like to know as well

Yes it’s good to have another flip style fold and I think the best one yet. Better than the Samsung and Huawei ones.
Hinge looks weak, will it fall down if you hold the side and slightly wobble it with screen facing down?
Do you prefer mediatek over snapdragon?

It's a bts fan tiktokers lady's phone so it won't be forgettable.

Just saw a humongous billboard advertising this phone while I drove back from Bangkok's airport.
Sorry, I have to ask, does it really have Optical Stabilisation? Which of the cameras? I thought all of the cameras had only EIS.

Totally agree
Who needs flip phone, we want find N2
It was released a while a while ago 😂. It's the more compact foldable . :)
That one I reviewed it’s much better
Nice wristwatch. What brand?
Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro

i think I wouldn't go for a flip phone like this, feels less usefull to me, that being said looks like they have done a pretty good job with this.
Yes same, I prefer the style that opens up into a larger tablet. This style you don't really gain much just just the smaller size.
@@Techtablets pretty much yeah
3:23 oh wow, you went to Malaysia?! I've been searching for any info about this phone in Malaysia but I've found none
Yes, I first saw it there first and did a quick unboxing filmed by OPPO. But not sure on the release time then.

The external display doesnt have a lot of usage, even no spotify widget ?
No a lot no, but more app support is coming.
Bro I really really love your videos, but please level up your Genshin Impact account. It's a worth playing game.
I know I just don’t have time now to do it.
Oh boy, your comments are going to be filled with some salt from the knights.
It’s possible but it’s just the facts it’s better then the Z flip4
Definitely not knight status but Samboys and girls.

I call them Samsung Shills. Knights!? 😂
Any updates on oppo find x6 series?
Not heard anything yet but it's coming. Maybe the announcement at MWC or March.

It's not a normal phone UI the outer screen so yes it's limited in what it can do.
I used it to prank my siblings that my phone broke but it was a clip phon
