I really like how you give every aspect of a phone equal time, rather than giving three quarters of the video over to camera performance like so many others.
Bought their flagship model, the Z60 Ultra, back in January and must say Nubia surprised me a lot. They made a great phone for a great price. Cameras are great, especially when using gcam. It's fast. No bloadware apart from some Google apps. And the best surprise was that they have monthly software updates. As for this Flip... I wonder why it comes with Android 13, even their older models already got upgraded to Android 14.
Flip phones are the perfect compact smartphone replacement. Glad that nubia has taken the initiative to lower the price despite not being the best in class 👍🏻
I know I’ve said this before, but your reviews are the best out of anyone by a longshot. Keep up the good work, brother. PS, if you do see this, what foldable would you recommend at the moment?
I think it's absolutely brilliant. Finally, a foldable has made it to the market at an affordable price. First Motorola, which had a cheaper alternative offers, Samsung, which are down with the price and probably want to offer a fold in cheaper this year. If the device were to enter the market globally, it would be the breakthrough, even if it did not happen. 😅 Bin generally fan of Foldables. Me with the Fold5, woman with the Flip5. It all remains exciting. Thanks for the video 😊
I think I can see what the target audience will be here. This phone is really suitable for the fashion-concious selfie generation, and has terrific specs for them. For social media videos, you don't need an ultrawide camera. The front camera is just garbage but the main camera is quite good for 4k video. The phone looks quite good too, it looks sturdy and compact. Overall quite impressive. The software though... I hope that this phone will get regular updates for a reasonable time. This still is the first generation of the affordable smartphones. You have to start somewhere, let's see where this goes in a couple of years. Thanks for the review!
Phones like these have a Big Problem... Yeah it sounds cheap but when you been looking for other foldables and you don't mind buying older ones you start to think why should I buy this... When for $2:00 or $300 more I could get a Flip style foldable like a Razr+ with a much bigger outside screen that I can open way more apps. I feel like this phone is a perfect phone to just get into foldables but after you have any experience with them this is a tough Buy.
flip phones have so many moving and breakable parts that 2 years after purchase, the flex cables and hinges will be the first to have defects. my friend regrets buying her expensive flip phone and swears to return to the standard bar phone when she will buy her next phone.
Honestly for my use i dont see the point in a flip phone this size. I have a s22 ultra and i dont feel like its that much of an issue to carry around. If i were ever to want a flip phone i feel like it would have to give me an insane screen size i couldnt get otherwise. Else for me it just doesnt make sense.
Bout one of these. The hinge was absolute trash, and the software is horrid. Other than that i liked the phone. If they hadnt missed the hinge on QC at the factory and it had some thrid party support like Lineage OS, i would've loved it. Replaced it with a Motorola Razr 40 Ultra (Razr+ 2023) that is on clearance for like 480 USD here in europe.
Nice review. Nubia, good work make the cheapest flip phone ever. One thing let it down is camera. But I think we are going to see even cheapest flip phone like blackview hero 10
I never felt the need for a regular size phone that could fold in half. I much prefer he option of having a phone that doubles in size when required. This feels gimmicky and by no means at the cheaper end of the market.
But Nubias flip phone is unfortunately not the most affordable flip phone, it costs approximately the same as the Samsung Z flip 5, and even then, there is also the Tecno Phantom V Flip phone which is also less expensive if I remember correctly, and if going for a flip phone that actually gives the most value for money, then I'd say go for the Oppo Find N3 Flip 😎
Flip/Foldable phones are E-waste. If you are looking for longevity you ain't going to find it there. My mum Samsung Filp 4 started auto shutting down whenever you flip/unflip the phone. Guess what it was just right after the warranty ended. Apparently it is a rather common issue/defect. Was quoted $400+ to replace the screen. Yea no thanks
@@GhastlyHunger'Just come down to the service center they said initially' it was only after talking to a 2nd CS then we were informed of the evaluation charges should we go down to get it checked out.

Thanks yes too much focus on the cameras and in the case of this phone it is poor allaround so no point wasting too much time on that.
@@Techtablets sir the p70 ultra is now global 😁😁🙏

It's a great move.

But they didn't lower the price at all. In fact it's more expensive than the other alternatives in the market
@@dlatuaCurrently, they offer it for 499. Which alternative is cheaper?
@@dlatuaafter 6 months ,they have reduced the price. It was used to cost about USD 880 and now it is selling at USD 430 in my country
Flip phones 10 years from now gonna be amazing. Hope I live to see them.

Yes I also love foldables now using the Vivo X Fold3 and love it. Such a cool thing to have a small tablet in my pocket.
I think it's finally the time for an affordable flip phone, good thing Nubia starts it!
It's about time yes. Now I would also like to see a fold style now for around the same price if they can do it!
nice

Do nubia phones get Android OS updates and if so how many
Really genuine review, not like other TH-camrs. Appreciate your good work. Keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Really useful review, thank you!
If they fix the video stabilisation and optimise the cameras a bit that would be a good flip phone for the price.
It would yes!
What about battery life?
Does it work with US carriers?
It's 600€ on their page and Galaxy Z Flip4 is 580€ here in Croatia (256GB model, 25% VAT included). Flip4 is much better phone then this Nubia.
Flip4 is better yes much better cameras.
If Nubia launched same phone but with flat screen. Not folding, (obv hard to switch from flat display to foldable and need more care) I'd buy it
"Huawei Pura 70 pro" please!!
Hope they make a horizonal fold phone soon
Yes!! They have to do this. Hopefully with a similar price tag.
Ola. Thanks for the video. Crazy that Nubia want an extra £200 for a little more memory and RAM though.

i think if i wanna get a flip phone, i would expect to hv a bigger screen when it open up. something along the size of Huawei Mate 20X (7.2")
Wow actually looks handsome and pretty cheap for a foldable. hope it can stand atleast 3 years worth of flips. my sister's Z-Flip 5 only lasted a year
Did it get that dreaded line in the fold?
@@Techtablets Yeah 😖
Educational review, i am thinking to buy this new unique flip phone, it the most budget one and i think it's worth.
Even when considering the flaws 499$ is still a great value for a flippable 6.9 inch 120hz oled phone.
Hope you get your hands on the Blackview Hero 10. :)

its pointless without the ability to use normal apps and play games on the secondary screen.

Well the cameras are.
Only 4300😂 Samsung have only 3500+ mah

cute

Well I guess it's time for midrange flip phones 😮💨
It is yes, at least no huge pricetag but then those cameras are a real letdown alright.
Not a great phone
