How to Build Thomas the Tank Engine / LB&SCR E2 class (MOC)

- Building guide for my own Lego creation based on the iconic fairytale steam engine Thomas (LB&SCR E2 class). Scale is ideal for Lego microfigures.
Unfortunately I do not all necesary parts in the red and blue color, so I made just this gray version (also shape is closer to the original steam engine).
Model is a combination of Technic parts (chassis) and classic bricks, plates and tiles, but very simply and so also ideal for Lego juniors :)

Thanks for the comment. Some people hate this way of making instructions, but it is the easiest way (and sometimes also the only - I usually have no paper-instructions in my hand so it is really hard to make it twice).

Wow great build I have a question though do the micro minifigures fit in the cab you know the ones smaller than a usual minifigure?

Great build! Going to try to build it for my brother. Do you have a list of the lego parts you used anywhere? We are going to try to order all of the parts from the LEGO website, but are having trouble finding some of the pieces.

This looks cool but to really make it look like Thomas I recommend address label paper and Photoshop or an app like it to design the face and other features.

I think it's amazing I built it myself I changed the small flat top 1 by 1 stud for a grey switch part your great at building you should put this on lego ideas so they can make a lego set of it

the E2 Tank Engine doesn't look like this, But I get that models are hard to make, but couldn't you at least have done that Extended side tank?
Yes, I know this is not the most realistic copy, but it is up to anyone to make an update of this :)

Why doesn’t he have the extended side tanks? They’re part of Thomas’ iconic design, why would you leave them out?

it does not have extended side tanks
I have to say I am no expert side the trains, I just saw some photos and tried to make a model as close to the shape as possible.
But aren’t the extended side tanks part of Thomas’ original shape? Seriously, why did you leave them out!?
@@TheLearningCurveBoi This is just a mixture of real locomotive, Thomas, my inventory and my skills :)
5 of the 10 E2’S were part of the E2X class. They were just normal E2’s with extended side tanks. Curse Billington for even bringing these machines into existence! Long wheelbases, bad boilers, low steam pressure and rubbish brakes made these lil’ tanks very wobbly and otherwise not very great.
