hey thank you for the video. i have almost the same problem on my rx580 nitro+, but its in pin 51 & 52 , (vdd and vss) and all resistor and capacitor on that pin too. i want to know the value of capacitor and that resistor. is it the same value as your video? as i dont have any working nitro / sapphire on me. thankyou
Damn, so lucky I hapened to find one of Your vids. Past 2 days learned a lot watching and now I have hope I can resurect My evga 1080ti (seems like dead bios chip). Ty so much!
Happy go lucky lol. GF 1060 6gb, mats shows 2 faulty memory moduls. Both complete duds B0 and C0. As it was not worth getting new moduls.. I did a test and reflow on 2 offending chips.. Card with no picture.. after reflow.. at moment using it :) Mats - 0 errors. Next will try same on evga 1080ti with 3 dead moduls, thou I doupt I get that lucky :)
Pretty nice, i am gonna receive a refurbished RX580 Nitro+ next week, and i need to learn to repair it asap, thanks, you explained the first basic steps clear enough. Aww, i need a hot-air soldering station, though... Any advice which cheap for a beginner?
great videos as always, might i ask a question, what can be wrong with a powercolor 5500xt that always on 20mhz on core and 100mhz on ram, clocks wont boost, not a driver issue.
Hey, ur content is great so i had to subscribe, wouldnt be faster to just use thermal camera ? I know point of the video is to explain different steps, just asking if thermal camera would help me find these shorts faster or if its not worth it, thanks.
Sorry I don't fully understand how you work/film. So if I sent you my RX 580 Sapphire that you worked on already in a different video, would you also work on mine? Sorry for the stupid question 😀
Hi ! excelent video i have the same graphic card and the same problem, but when i get to the last resistance it dosnt go in short, so what should i look next? please help me!
Awesome video once again 🤩🤯! It’s great to see that often a simple capacitor / resistor etc can be at fault and with the right knowledge can be fairly easy to track down the fault and a straight forward repair rather than the item ending up in landfill unnecessarily. Great work 🤯🤩🥳😉
I have a Dell Vostro 2520 that no longer boots because of a failed bios update, it just got stuck on the Windows 7 "applying update 1/1 for an hour, and I thought it was just a stuck Windows update, and not the bios update. What can I do to fix that laptop? I don't realy need it and neither does my father, who stopped using it over 2 years ago, but it would be nice to get it running again.
VERY GOOD!!!! You have a TON OF TALENT and I enjoy watching your work. I don't know much about what you're doing but I learn more and more from every video!!1 THANK YOU!!!
Hello techcemetary i ned big help on a sapphire nitro rx 580 4gb i have no 1.8v out or pex or memory controller but wait for it i have 0.9v on vcore and memory is 1.38v i no i shouldnt because other rails need to start first any ideas or help would be great excellent videos by the way.
hello, i actually have the same problem as no VCore voltage, the double top right fuses on the 12V have blown but no short and also no short on the caps around NCP81022. Is VSS and VDD shorted on this chip is something normal ? Also, to check voltages do i need to feed 12V bus and 3.3V rail from PCIE express ? i don't have mobo.
I have an rx580 pulse without Vcore, and it has a 2 homs short between VSS and VDD even after removing the ncp81022 pwm , Did you find what the defect was ??
@@nocrassHere there is also a logic port that is not receiving the signal (A) so it does not activate, this logic port goes to pin 1 of the pwm (ncp81022) is (powerOK), but I have a low resistance of 2 homs between pin 51 (VDD ) and 52 (VSS), I think this low resistance is not normal because I removed the ncp81022 and it still had 2 homs on the board, and on the ncp81022 there is 200 homs between VDD and VSS, the board has all voltages except Vcore
Yeah, the DrMOS is what died on my Sapphire Nitro RX 470. I didn't have skills to desolder/solder the part, so I removed the corresponding inductor and the card works great on three out of four power phases. It was a fun project that can be found on the Internet as "RX 470 Zombie Edition."

There are actually some 400 series nitro+ which use ir3550m or ir3575m but it's quite rare and so far since i did graphics cards repair I've seen only twice
@@accurian148 Mine uses the fdmf3035, and that's the part I couldn't replace with my limited skills. The card might be a Pulse instead of a Nitro for all I know, even though the fans say "Nitro." After deleting the dead power phase, I had to edit the vBIOS to basically ignore power limits the card thought it was using over 300 Watts when it wasn't. 😀

This is actually a problem with these models. Thank for video
i hope i get to see my card repaired, nice work quick and efficient.
I'm from Brazil, I noticed an rx 580 with the same defect, thanks to your video, thank you very much
I would love to see a MSI Armor RX 580 layout repair not detected and no display
Congrats on fixing a Sapphire card without the common "blown MOSFET" issue.
Thank you , You're so informative. ♥
