High flow grille is essential for the track. The HPD Civic Si racecar uses one. You'll especially need it since you guys just upgraded the intercooler. Big intercoolers are good for doing pulls and spirited driving, but they block the radiator and aren't recommended for circuit racing (at least with the stock grille).
Perfect, that’s good to know about the grille. Just picked up a high flow one and will have it on for the next track day! Yeah, that definitely makes sense about the intercooler especially with stock grille.. thanks for watching and for your suggestions! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
@@FastLaneWithVitto 1. Cool you can practice at round 50mph first and build up to around 70 mph depending on the corner, and as you build confidence. I have, the FK8 is an amazing driver’s car straight out of the box. It obviously has its small issues like over heating and what not. But it’s planted, and puts down the power very well on the track. The 10th gen si definitely needs a few mods for it to feel good on track. But it’s still very nice as well. Handles very well for what feels like a big car compared to previous gens and you can get decent power out of them.
Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, no helmets needed when it’s just open lapping. But for competition it’s mandatory. Tires are RE-71R’s all around! Definitely fun
@@FastLaneWithVitto awesome. I’m running re71s as well! It’s a shame they discontinued them :( Going to try the rt660s next since that seems to be the closest . Glad to see more people doing stuff with this platform!
@@samjaw82 yeah trust me, amazing tire. If you want to spend more $, go with the a052’s. But yeah I’ve done some research on the rt660’s and they look pretty good as well. Rs4’s are decent too!
2 completely different cars from the way it handles/feels to the powerband that you’ll need it in for it to be good. In my opinion without going forced induction on the 9th gen, the 10th gen has a lot more potential to be faster as the handling is much better. I will definitely be doing a track comparison for the two this year as long as I can sort out some issues on the 9th gen!
Only had it “off” in this vid which still lets it come on unfortunately, next time I bring it out I’ll be taking it fully off to ensure it’s not impeding anymore. And the tires are 245/40/17 RE71R’s all around!
U would probably be faster to remain in 3rd gear not drop to 2nd. If your 55 kmh in 3rd gear in an si your in your boost rpm. I would concentrate on rolling the centre faster. Dropping to 2nd youl roast the tires off
Yup, you’re definitely right! It was my first time in the 10th gen compared to my 9th gen that I have to drop to 2nd due to the lack of power and powerband haha. Throughout the day I started leaving it in 3rd just didn’t get much footage near the end!
@Fast Lane With Vitto I've ran a couple 1:27s and a 1:25.6 on my 2018 Si Coupe on Monday. Pherable tune, Act clutch, and 320 tredware tires. 235s on the heavy HFP wheels. Basically all stock besides the tune. Would like to try 200 tredware tires and some proper brakes.
@@charliesmith7942 nice! Yeah you definitely need the 200 tread wear tires and brakes. Will make a huge difference. My 9th gen best time is down to a 1:22.3 and with the 10th I believe was a 1:23.1. Hoping to have the 9th gen back up and running to get back out there soon and crack into the 21s

do you have to rev match when you downshift? I'm new to manual and the 10th gen so just wanted to know cause I just learned how to do it and I downshift when I drive but don't heel toe since the stock pedal placement disagrees with me
Yeah rev matching is a must especially on the track! It does take some getting used to, but you’ll get it np! Also for the pedal placement, Acuity makes a pedal relocator, I have it in my 9th gen and it’s amazing. Check their site out and see if they have one for the 10th gens.. I’m sure they do!
@@FastLaneWithVitto I have another question lol does the rev hang on stock tune make it hard to drive smooth ? I heard the rev hang is what makes going from first to second so jerky no matter how slow you are on the clutch release
Yup, the stock rev hang on them is absolutely brutal haha! It’s actually better if you try to be quicker with the clutch when changing so you’re not letting the rpms fall as much between shifts which is what causes the jerk

Not too bad at all haha! Thank you for watching! 🙌🏼

What tires were u running? And weight of your wheels?
This was on RE71R’s (discontinued now) these wheels were quite heavy.. about 22lbs each without tires
nice run
practice some lift off oversteer/fwd drifting sometimes. Could shave some time off in the corners
Yeah will definitely try it out this year! Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
