These are beautiful with amazing craftsmanship. I ordered one recently for an old heavy bible and was disappointed because the stand does not allow enough openness to the book making it very hard and uncomfortable to read. It should be made to open wider so each page right and left can be fully seen. As the design is now. It prevents this. I tried to see if it can be adjusted to open wider or be taken apart but it cannot. I would think many others realized this. To me, while it’s beautifully made, it is totally worthless as it keeps the book only partly open.
Not bad, but not wide enough. Just put the Qu'ran and open it on the middle page then you will understand. Thus, if you are making it you should how thick is the Quran. Otherwise to read left and right Muslims will have a problem to bend their neck left and right too.
This design is usually used by cutting one of the sides down to two or three inches and placing the book resting it's back on the long side facing the short side. My grandmother has a carved one in this design for her Bible
