    Here is a video of 5 cheap fast cars for less than $5000. Alot of people like to look for cheap fast cars to use for various reasons. You may be in high school looking for a fun daily driver, you may be a professional looking for something to beat around in. These cars can all be found for under 5k and they're very fast and fun. The Nissan 350Z is very hard to find for less than 5k but I have seen them. These entries are all powerful and reliable.
    Fast cars in the video:
    2002 Volvo S60 R Design
    2002-2005 Nissan 350Z
    90's Mazda Miata
    2005 Volkswagen Golf VR6
    2002 Subaru Impreza WRX

      Cheap Subarus are a serious gamble. The head gasket is a huge concern over 100,000 miles, and a cheap one probably hasn’t had it replaced, which is a ticking time bomb. Especially getting a turbo, you run some serious risk especially if they only bought cheap fuel.

    I would recommend instant transition between clips. For your purposes cutting right into the next sentence would keep the flow better. The long fading pauses break the flow. Also some low volume music in the background might help.

    i got a lightly modified 2004 BMW 545i for 4 grand, 124k miles, ~325 HP from a NA 4.4L V8, previous owner lowered the front suspension, put a K&N cold air intake, shattered the driver's fold out cup holder, and put stickier than stock tires on. I've never experienced a fast car but i can say it's SO MUCH more fun to drive hard than my 1992 chevy s10, so i love how well it performs

    To address several comments:
    1. The 350z is not on the same platform as the GTR. I was given misinformation.
    2. The WRX is a 2.0L not the 2.5L like I accidentally said in the video.
    3. This is just my first list I came up with alone. I love suggestions to include in my future videos for all of the “where’s the ____?”

      BriefCarBreakdown The subi is kinda correct, it did come with a 2.5 but it wasn't a wrx it was the 2.5rs model. As for not finding 350z for under 5k is a joke. I purchased a 05 Z in 2010 for $2500, only issue was the paint. 110k on clock and dealer maintained. Just need to look and not just in a 5 mile radius.

    • @xfilter0440x
      @xfilter0440x 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will always have those random under list prices, Randomly spread out on different car's someone trying to get rid of the car quicker. But on the normal you won't find them, if you look long enough or get lucky then sure you'll find one. If there's nothing wrong with it mainstream prices should be just above 5000 for 2004 and newer. Unless it has high miles or something wrong with it. Prices will be above 5000 if below 100k and nothing wrong.

    • @LordEcks
      @LordEcks 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The car cost will vary by location I think. Great video though.
      My beef wasn't the 350Z cost so much as he claimed it to be lightweight.
      They weigh from 3100 to 3600 lbs. Its known as the fat lady of the FR Japanese sports cars. Lightweight is generally closer to the 2500 lbs mark.

    For the 370z “it’s fairly low volume so I’m sure they focused more on the reliability of the designs”, what are you talking about? Higher volume cars are more reliable cuz more fixed cost preproduction testing can be spread over more units, and issues are identified sooner (cuz more people driving the cars). Is a Honda Accord or Toyota Corolla unreliable since its high volume? Of course not.

    I'm headed after work tomorrow to pick up my new 1994 V6 Mustang after wanting a Mustang my entire life (I'm 33 now). $2700 CAD (almost $2100 USD), but coming certified with over $1500 CAD of new stuff in it and an engine that had been replaced under warranty by the original owner, as well as being in near perfect overall condition. Comes about 145 HP stock with torque north of 200, but I'm going to have fun building it up starting with the cold air intake I've already ordered. At least it came with an aftermarket radio!
    My current car is a 2004 VW Passat GLS Wagon that I bought Jan 2017 for $1900 CAD. Those were 170 HP stock on a 1.8L turbocharged 4-cylinder, and I had mine ECU tuned. Perfect work car for my delivery/courier job and auction runs for my shop. Fast, fun to drive, and the wagon on it actually looks really nice. Main downside was that it was originally a $40k near luxury car (original bill of sale still in the dash), making it not as common as other VWs making them actually harder to find common upgrades and good replacement parts for (no cold air intakes, Brembo brakes, etc). 8 speaker sound system, super comfy leather interior, power sunroof and SUPER smooth ride make up for it though. I still get near daily compliments on it from people thinking it's a lot newer than it is.

    They were upgraded with many perks.
    This model featured red leather interior, upgraded stereo, Nardi shift knob, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise, limited slip differential, power windows, power mirrors, power steering, air conditioning, BBS wheels, Bilstein shocks, front and rear spoilers, ABS brakes, stainless sill plates, and Harley style peanut tank door speaker trim. I believe 04 was the last year for the vr6 on a golf(possibly 05 mk4 but i think all of the 05 mk4 where 1.8t) and it was the 24v vr6 that made a little more then the then 200hp. I believe it was rated at 220 to the crank. mk5 05 had the 4 cylinder 2.0t that was rated at 200hp. You are right about it being a deal tho because they are good cars but modding them is a little tricky if you are new to vw. 2008 did have the r32 with the vr6 but that is not a 5000$ car.

    German cars are a NIGHTMARE to work on and maintain. The GTI has a ton of aftermarket support, but unless you own almost a complete metric set of tools, good luck. A V8 camaro or mustang wouldve been better than half of these examples. Very easy and cheap to maintain and work on, and for what they lack in cornering ability they make up for by being rear wheel drive and having a V8. Full bolt-ons and a tune and youre usually good for around 60 to 100 HP gain. And if you have a little money to burn, you can get a great suspension set up for the twisties. And the 350Z was a rendition of the 90s line. It's its own thing. The new GTR is actually related to the Infiniti G series. Decent vid, just do a little more research.

    • @SuperNova0216
      @SuperNova0216 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tyler Heilich that might be in old old models, I’ve had all German cars and can attest to the low maintenance.

    • @tylerheilich4670
      @tylerheilich4670 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SuperNova0216 it's not so much that things break all the time, it's when they do, the cost to fix it is absolutely insane. $500 to replace a busted plastic expansion tank? $300 to replace the main bulb in the headlight? Insane. And I don't know what you define as old old. I've known lots of guys with 98 to 02s and they literally fall apart on the inside and at the seals. I know guys in the 06 to 10 range and the quality seems to be much better. But by those years and newer, good luck being able to do any work easily. Everything is jam packed and covered, everything.

    • @SuperNova0216
      @SuperNova0216 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tyler Heilich yea I would say the early 2000’s and older is what I consider old. I’ve owned a 97, a 2000, 2003, and now a 2012 and 2015 are my 2 daily’s. The one that gave more more trouble was the 97 cuz it was my first car and I was ignorant lol. Now I maintain and do almost all the preventive care/maintenance myself. My 2015 was new when I got it 3 yrs ago and I have put on it 66k so far (love driving and my commute is 25 mi one way). Not a single issue. Not one. I think it’s just a matter of taking care of the car, any car :)

      I don't mean to bag lol I realize it sounds a little like that. My dad has an 06 with 155,000 miles and nothing major so far. He loves it. May I ask what models you have had experience with? I have considered getting a 335i, but I've heard either good or bad things but not much in between. Cons ive heard are that it is a slouch unless you get on the gas due to turbo lag. The advantages are obvious, a tune is cheap and could provide a lot of extra power, although I wonder how much extra boost the stock platform could handle?

    • @SuperNova0216
      @SuperNova0216 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tyler Heilich 97 was a 4 cyl 2.0 NA, 2000 was a vr6 2.8 the 12 valve so it was a bit slower. The 03 was the vr6 2.8 but with 24 valves, and I loved that engine and torque. Now both of my cars are 2.0t but the 12 is a Jetta GLI and my 15 is the GTI which is APR tuned and a few mods giving me 310hp and 370tq to the wheels :). I’m hoping I can push her to 400 and 450 by the end of this year 😬 I had a 135i 2012 as well. Loved it! Plenty of power and No turbo lag it seemed since it had the twin turbos. Honestly felt like a NA. I think it shares the engine with the older 335 but I’m not quite sure. Only had it 1 year since it was a 2 door and became impractical given that I have a little one.

    I had a 2002 WRX. It was a great car. I put a full exhaust, upgraded turbo, supporting mods, tune. It ran consistent mid 12s @ 110 mph at the track.). It's pretty slow, stock. But it responds really well to basic mods. I ran 13.3 @ 100 mph with just an exhaust and boost controller. That's it.

    How’s the 350z built on the gtr platform when the z came out in 03 and gtr was 09?

    • @TheTfunk1999
      @TheTfunk1999 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adams Daily Drive well yes your right but not by that logic, 09 is just when we got the r35 and the first time we got it in the states the gtr’s platform has been going on for ages r30, r31, r32, r33, r34 yes an r35 is not the same exact platform as an r32 but its all the same family and realistically i think this guy was attempting to say its built on the same platform an older rseries or just referring to the fact that its uses a vq which is kinda similar to the vr(but not really) or maybe he just saw that in japan the G’s are called skylines. I dint think anybody could look an r35 and say thats the same playform as the z hell you could probably fit two z’s in a r35(joking)

    What about acura rsx type s?

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Lambo1-_ gaming... They are incredibly hard to find for under 5K.. Maybe you can get lucky and get an 02-04 S, but they probably have super high miles, or were beat to shit and have a bad title. I have yet to find a Type S with a clean title and under 100K miles for under 5K. Love the RSX tho.. I actually have a boosted base auto.. Yeah that's right, an auto lol.. Beefed up the tranny, got Kpro, and now I am pushing 400whp. Thing is a beast and under 4000rpm is it a great daily. And since I live in the city, the Auto tranny is perfect for me being in traffic a lot. I like to eat breakfast and drink coffee on my way to work, and I cannot do that with my WRX lol

    • @richieflexz
      @richieflexz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Harkins I have a type s and yea these are fun cars. I think I might sell it though:/ and maybe get an evo,s2000,or a wrx. What do you think would be better

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lambo1-_ gaming.. I would advise against it unless you have really good funds. Evo's are incredibly expensive to own and insurance is a lot. I should know, I have one with a blown motor right now. WRX's are nice, but are also expensive due to their awd drive system. S2K's are awesome cars, but are so overpriced and slow for that price. and they are RWD and terrible in weather. WRX is probably your best option if you have to off the RSX, but if I were you, I would stick with Honda. Maybe get a newer SI. Honda is cheaper, better fuel economy, easier maintenance, huge aftermarket, and the fwd system might not be the most ideal for drag racing, but it is still good in weather, and great for AutoX type courses. All depends though on your funds and what you want out of the car.

    • @richieflexz
      @richieflexz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Harkins damn you hit me with them heart breaking facts lol. I might reconsider selling her now. But if I do, I might get the s2k. It's honda and those engines last a long time. Plus I've always wanted one since I was little lol

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lambo1-_ gaming .. hey they are all obviously great cars, but the s2k is brutally slow. And for the price you could get an almost new brz. But if you have the funds and dont mind the rwd in winter, the s2k is an amazing car with tons of potential.. They just cost so much for how old they are and they are only about 180-190rwhp.. Type S is cheaper, almost as fast and has just as good of an aftermarket scene with the k-series.

      @daveriley6310 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Jeep 4.0 is an inline 6 or I-6. The V-6 is 3.8L. The I-6 is a truly great engine. Unlike all V-6 and V-8 designs, the I-6 design is dynamically balanced by the firing sequence of the cylinders and needs no added harmonic balancers for smooth running. BMW's best cars used the I-6 design for decades. The Mercedes 3.2L was an I-6 until the late 90s, when they went to a V design which is overall more compact and makes it easier on the chassis and sheet metal designers.
      I highly recommend the Jeep 4.0. Plenty of good ones available. I've had 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees and still drive one.

I replaced it with a 1985 C4 Corvette-1st year for the L98 engine, it’s a bit slack on HP out of the factory but it is an absolute torque monster. If you don’t live here in California where we emissions test every 2 years you can turn the L98 into an over 300 HP beast with a $500-$600 upgrade.

    BCB you're fine I loved this video. I bet you only paused it those times to look up facts which is completely fine. You're brand new to this it's cool

      I'll be releasing more videos with cheap cars. I may put more obvious ones in like the mustang and camaro. This was intended to be cars that are generally less thought of.

    In Europe the 350z is between 15k-20k € (17-23k usd) for ~100000km (~60000miles) driven.
    You can get one for 5k usd in the US? With that price difference it would be cheaper to ship it here
