    Even though I've already figured out the whole repair system, I'll say this either way. You have a talent for tutorials for this game. Literally the only person I've ever found that ACTUALLY explains things. Much appreciated.

    Ah, so that's why people always advise new players to maintain their equipment. It's because major repairs require so much effort and luck you'll be better off paying a technician for repairs. Thank you, a very comprehensive guide.

    8:20 I know I'm probably late to the party but you don't always need a swiss army knife to disassemble uniforms, the multitool can do the same, its just the swiss cant dissassemble guns, so for anyone who doesn't know the whole scraping mechanic, any random bits and bobs you find out there can be disassembled by a grooming kit, uniforms can be disassembled by a swiss army knife and a multi tool can do all of that and guns

    Great guide, repair/crafting in Anomaly is hard to learn, easy to master. And you are right about one thing, by the time you have the money to buy the specific tool kit for the item you want repair/craft/modify, you have enough money to just buy it. I always spawn in a big backpack at the beginning of a play thru, because by the time I can make it or buy it, I usually have an exoskeleton. Congrats on 1K!

      Groks crafting overhaul mod addresses this issue buy unlocking all recipes from the start and jacking up the technician price for repairs and upgrades. Actually makes doing it yourself viable at that point

      I do a similar thing, I spawn myself with a hunting kit so I can start grabbing loads of mutant parts for the ecologists. The ecologists are such a great faction. Just make bank selling them parts and doing missions and then you can buy a svarog detector and a protective suit and go get some real treasure.

    Pro-tip: In regards to crafting, you can break down useless junk you can't really use like broken radios, old headlamps and walkie-talkies for spare parts. Comes in handy when you want to upgrade your PDA or put night vision on your basic headlamp.

  • @3rdcain356

    Ramrod, File and the Multitool are the 3 big Tools you need to repair the parts, yes the multitool can be used to repair parts. You want to use Cerosin to nearly double the amount of repairs on most parts. If you find a gun you like and you want to repair it to old glory without spending to much money, make sure you have enough uses left on your repairtools, you need one per part you wanna switch out.
    Note that this mechanic does little to no sense on the easiest progression difficulty, since the needed repairkits might cost more than the actual repair by the technican. So if you play on the Tourist progression difficulty you find your self skipping this mechanic alltogether. Even on Higher Progression difficulties it often is the same case. How ever if you find the Parts/means to repair the parts and get the Kits from tashes for free you can save a whole lot of rubbles early to midgame and reinvest into upgrades/ammo/food/meds.
    Oh and the mechanical Warfare bonus (give one tech all 3 sets of tools) is realy helpfull in this case and in field repairs (since your supportive mats give a better bonus to the repairs [roughly 50%]).
    Crafting is a thing on its self, since some of the stuff you need is either to rare or to expensive to just break it appart (drugmaking and toolkits are bothersome to craft, as well as upgrades) to get the mats you would need. One of the best examples of worthless crafting IMO is the Hunting kit (a backpack that doubles the amount of Mutantparts and Flesh you can get from them), since you need 4 Huntingknifes and a Backpack totaling in over way over 20k even on Tourist (not the butcher prizes) while you can get a Hunting Kit for under 9k (also not butchers prizes) and NON of the needed stuff can be found out in the Zone.
    In the End doublecheck if its worth and if you have the stuff needed on hand right now. But NEVER forget to fieldrepair your stuff, nothing worse than being one hit from death while the chimera is one slug from death as well and you have to reload because of a jam.

    This is a real help. Apart from major repairs, i was thinking I'd have to hoard a bunch of items and go to the vice just to do minor tweaks.
    I will also be doing major repairs. However you helped so much with the small, loose parts i can make small repairs as i go. I just started Anomoly a couple days ago. I'm still very early on yet found the craft menus daunting.

  • @oSLAYERo
    @oSLAYERo ปีที่แล้ว

    Possibly one of the best things to get early on is the Multitool and Swiss knife imo. Especially on new characters you never know what faction you’ll run into and being able to take quality weapon parts to fix a decent weapon or patch up decent armor can make a huge difference when starting out. Very well put guide.

    Thanks for guide, I hope it will help new players as Anomaly crafting/repair system is quite extensive. In terms of vise I like to kill technician of enemy faction and use it instead of paying technician for access to his vise. Only drawback is you will need to kill baddies over and over again as they will spawn in their base. Quite risky option is to farm monolith soldiers in red forest for loot, suits and weapons as their equipment is better than most of factions. Also multi tool is much more effective for disassembly/repair than Swiss knife as you can disassemble everything with it.

    • @bennja010
      @bennja010 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just give all three toolkits to the same technician to get free access to his vice. You then also unlock the achievement that boosts the repair values of your repair items.
      And as far as I know you get the same rng with the disassembly tools. Its way more effective to save your multi tool for weapons only and use grooming kits and swiss knives for everything else.

    Idk if anyone has updated you on it, but the ramrod, file, and multitool can be used to repair every gun part back to 100%. Each only repairs certain things, like the ramrod is the only tool that can repair barrels and the multitool is the only one that can repair triggers. I always keep a few in my stash.

    Hi Wavey,
    Great short guide!
    I would like to add a method i like to use, which may be helpful to you, and others reading this!
    I like to buy a small backpack from anywhere, along with the quick release system, 2 of them in fact, i will explain.
    When i want to use the vice, i keep a backpack on the ground in front of it, as a stash. Inside it are every single piece of weapon part and equipment pieces and tool-kits that i own, including gun-smithing tools for ammunition, and medical tools for making drugs and such. i also keep old bullets inside, since within the backpack i also stash all the other equipment for crafting ammo with.
    I always release my main backpack right next to it as well, in case i need pieces inside of that for things, such as medical items to turn into stimpacks etc, which i may not have inside this "crafting stash" backpack, so i keep my main backpack stashed right next to it within reach, for convenience, and grab whichever i might have inside it that i might need.
    So, i release my main backpack using the quick release system right next to it, and walk over to this crafting-stash, and "take all". The reason for this, is simply because it's convenient, that's all, in case you want the current weapon you're quipped with to be changed and so on.
    Now you will basically be wearing a small backpack, overly loaded with probably tons of parts and tools you need for just about anything that you can use on the vice. you won't have to be chasing parts and keeping them on you, since they're all conveniently placed inside this backpack. There is of course a downside. You cannot move, at all, so keep an eye or ear out if there are bounty hunters coming for you while you get busy.
    Once you're done doing what you needed to do, simply wear the backpack in the backpack slot, then use second quick release system that was kept inside this backpack, and you quickly made yourself the stash again, lying there for next time it's convenient!
    Naturally, this means this trick is best used for a designated main crafting location, as you'll basically be stuck there with the amount of tools and items inside the backpack. but it saves time and headaches trying to organize and running back and forth after the relevant tools and pieces you need at any given time!
    It's a bit of a silly trick, but it's very convenient if you have one particular spot that you want to rely on for upgrading and crafting equipment!

    • @WaveysGamingAdventure
      @WaveysGamingAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Having an extra backpack next to the vice is a very good idea!

    • @Micki93
      @Micki93 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WaveysGamingAdventure it's super useful! over time i accumulate so many parts that it just made sense to keep it all in one spot, and carry it all when i needed to interact with it! i learned very fast to use the quick release system over manually making a stash too, as it's a quick and convenient way to avoid accidentally merging items between the two backpacks!

    • @MrLittlePredator
      @MrLittlePredator 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for the idea. Although the crafting really needs a re-work, you just end up with loads of rubles way before you can craft or possess all the kits/mats, so it really disincentives it.

    Great video. One question though, I repaired my gun by ‘field repair’ like in your video. It’s condition is nearly 100% but parts are in still low condition.
    And I got gun jamming really, really often. Do you think is it because of the parts?
    If it because of parts, I wonder what is the difference between parts condition and overall condition… I am confused because I can repair to full condition only by field repairs.
    (Add: happens same when you repair your weapon by technician.)

    • @WaveysGamingAdventure
      @WaveysGamingAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only time I've had issues like that is when I'm using the "Weapon Parts Overhaul" addon. I had it in one modpack I played.
      It separates 'Gun Condition' and 'Gun Part condition', so even if the gun itself is 100% it will still jam if one of the parts is in bad condition.
      I can't explain how to do the repairs when you're using that addon. Personally, I'd just remove it.

    I am a Stalker veteran from day one. I really like this whole craft/repair/upgrade system but i find it way to complex. Even for me this is just overwhelming. Not the single steps but the number of steps and the amount of different items you need to find. If the weapons would last 3 or 4 times as long this would be worth it. And the worst thing limited number of tool uses. Seriously why do tools or ramrods have a limited number of uses?!? You could just let the technician repair your stuff but to be forced to get all those parts and tools for upgrades is almost a no-go for me. The Complexity from CS would have been enough for me...I love Stalker, always did but this is a crafting simulator.

      No I don't have any particular guides. My advice for that stuff, use a backpack to create a stash, and stash away anything you find on enemies that you may want to keep.
      You can then use the technician to repair them up to full, and then use the repair items to keep them in good condition.
      Finding loot on enemies is probably the easiest way. Otherwise you need to earn goodwill with a specific faction (by doing missions, helping stalkers of the faction) and buy those better items from their traders.

      Purple stashes are rare, and from my experience you will always find something in there. But you may also get gunsmithing tools, or a drug making kit instead

      A lot is similar to old STALKER titles, but Anomaly adds a bunch of junk.
      Here's what you need to know.. Health Restoration, Bleeding Control, and Radiation Removal.
      Health Resto is done mainly with medkits and stimpaks. These can be found on dead enemies, traders, and medics.
      Bleed control is done mainly with bandages, found on all the same things as medkits.
      Radiation is removed with cigs (requires matches) & vodka mostly.
      Now there are also many other different items that can have one of these effects. There are a couple different medkits, couple different types of vodka etc.
      You can use your mouse, hover the cursor over an item in your inventory and it'll show you all the effects it has.
      I mostly use what I explained. The only other items I ever use are Psi-Block, and Radioprotectant.
      Radioprotectant prevents radiation, and Psi-Block prevents Psi-Damage.
      Psi-Damage comes from Psy-Fields (rare) and Controllers (also rare). But helpful to keep on hand.

    Thanks for the explanation, it sounds like quite a poorly designed and overly complicated system that is rather unbalanced if just buying the guns new is much easier, makes it all rather redundant. Why when they reworked the game for anomaly did they not just use a weapon cleaning kit for all weapons like dayz? You could also just have sewing kits repair clothes, with armour plates repairing amour. Why would it need to be complicated any further? Its not even unrealistic, that would be enough in real life for 99% of repairs

    I gotta say, while i understand needing the right tool kit for repairing firearms, the fact a pristine kit only has 4 uses is just silly. But the alternative is permanent kits that'd be even harder to get so i guess the lesser of two evils will suffice.

    Even after learning this system I still think it takes practice and good habits to make work. I still think its easier to just pay for everything. Rather than hunting for parts and organizing them I would rather hunt artifacts and mutants.
    I have made a few exceptions for late game exosuit upgrading and weapons belonging to incompatible factions but I still prefer playing as a capitalist lol

    • @WaveysGamingAdventure
      @WaveysGamingAdventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's 100% easier to just pay for stuff.
      The system isn't great, and it's still tricky at times. It's really only useful when the difficulties get harder, which makes using money significantly harder.

    • @indiomoustafa2047

      @@WaveysGamingAdventure its too much rng. You could strip 7 guns and end up with a functional one out of the parts, or you could strip 30 and still not have the one part you need.
      There are some mods that improve this aspect of the game but I dont use them because I just dont like this aspect of the game anyway haha. Theres one that guarantees a gun will drop one part thats at 85% or higher, that way you can actually build a gun in a reasonable amount of time.
