In addition to this video, a part 2 could be: what can be done in the event of a sunburn (cause mistakes happen). Does aloe really work? Why does a sunburn peel or turn into a tan? Thank you very much, as always for another great educational video.

Thanks, Emilie. I would say my summer hack is #touchbeauty ultrasonic device glow!! Love the pore exfoliator so much!! I always have problems with large pores in the summer especially and they look small after I use this device!! My skin feels a lot smoother as well. It is amazing!!!

@@user-ok9yc1gj6o yep, I'm very, very sure. I've tried numerous Korean skincare products and they all either have plant extracts or fermented ingredients. After consistent use in the morning of these products, I either had clogged pores (closed comedones or inflamed pustules) or major flaky dryness around my nose. All that definitely wasn't a purge, like what happens when using actives, but congestion. Of course, everyone reacts differently to ingredients, so if they work for you, go for it!

    • @genevievemarie_
      @genevievemarie_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Algae breaks me out as well. Idk how accurate the comedogenic scale is, but after breaking out, I looked it up and found it has one of the highest ratings. Right up there with coconut oil (which also breaks me out).

I am a huge believer in sunscreen, and a grandmother of five. Just to support their moms and dads, I offer to buy their sunscreen and sun guard swimwear, including tops and hats. This Christmas I wrapped up super fun swimwear sets with their favorite superheros etc. on them as a fun gift! We just got pictures of them from their trip to Legoland, and they were ALL wearing the cute sets!!
I use the foot hack, but I just put on cotton socks and sleep in them. Now I will be adding the plastic wrap.... such a sexy look!😂😂😂

I love that you mentioned the back of the neck!!!! You see so many videos talking about sunscreen and where to apply it and they never mention the back of the neck. I always turn my back to the sun so it's not hitting my face directly and I'm not spending all my time squinting ( even in my sunglasses ). So it's an area I never miss😁

Just make sure to put a waterproof sunscreen ON YOUR FEET TOO especially when wearing sandals if you use glycolic acid.

Questions for the DIY glycerin face mist. If I don't want to use rosewater, would the mixture then be 100ml distilled water + 30ml glycerin? What about shelf life since there are no preservatives? And how about adding other ingredients such as antioxidant serum, or aveeno colloidal oatmeal powder, etc? Would love to see you do a full vlog on this.

I’m so glad I found you! I love the advice and how you give us great suggestions of products from every price points for our skin concerns. May I suggest a topic that I’m sure many may enjoy and find informative? I’m 51 and at the beginnings of peri-menopause/menopause. Can you give us going through this some ideas as to how we can combat the loss of collagen and the night sweats/hot flashes? Also, I’m curious if it’s common to experience rashes due to menopause. I find my neck has rashes that is driving me crazy and I cannot tell you how hard it is to avoid scratching, as I know it would aggravate my melasma and it’s terrible for your skin altogether. Thank you Dr. Idriss!

I live in Phoenix, Arizona and the summers here are HORRIBLE!!! Especially right now being in high triple digit heat with humidity from the monsoon.
I work in a doctors office so I’m inside for 8 hours. I don’t wear makeup during this time because with the mask I’ll just sweat it off, literally!! I wear my Vitamin C Serum and SUNBUM Broad Spectrum Face SPF 50 and then use a Matte/Pore Filler Primer and that’s it. It helps keep my oil production down and it’s less products on my face. I use this on my face, neck, back of neck, and chest where I am exposed in my scrubs. Works wonders for me 🌸

On top of the sunscreen when I was living in Asia a took the habit of carrying a parasol during the summer. Some are very light and cute, in most the inner layer was a dark spf fabric. Now here in my country people would laugh at me if they saw me with it so I just use sunscreen and hat, hope parasols will become mainstream one day!

Unless you have very dry dehydrated skin and live in a very dry environment, you don't need face mist. You can make a DIY face mist at home. 8 parts Rose water or non exfoliating toner + 1 part glycerin +1 part oil of choice (grapeseed, jojoba, argan) then put it in a spray container then shake before use. Better for winter though. Honestly if you use a good occlusive moisturizer you won't need a face mist. Just use Hyaluronic acid and then something like Cicaplast Baume.

I’m very curious to know what your thoughts are on New Zealand sunscreen brand, Skinnies.
They market themselves as a “concentrated,” “waterless” sunscreen that requires only a pea size amount for the face, neck, and ears. They have their study on their website but I’m still a little dubious.

What are your thoughts on reapplying a suncreen with different filters? Does this degrade the uva protection? I always so a GOOD base layer in the morning, but if im just going to be inside or running an errand, I’ll reapply with the naked sundays spf mist!

I use LaRoche Posay Hydraphase for moisturizer in the morning. It's mostly glycerin (it mentions HA, but it's like the 15th ingredient #marketing), very light, like a gel. Perfect :)

I loved this video, Shereene! If I went on hikes or was outside often I would so get a uv visor but I do want the uv gloves! I love the idea about taking care of the feet! Exfoliate then moisturize and cacoon in saran wrap and a sock! I'm going to add applying sunscreen to them when I wear flip flops! I don't know why I didn't do that before. I don't want to get crepey feet! I'll love your videos! I look forward to them. 😁♥️🙏
