amazing how robert’s voice really hasn’t changed that much! of course he was better in his day, but listening to their live shows in 2018/2019 robert can still belt a note
Man he is so freaking gorgeous 😍 and so many of his lyrics are simply brilliant..."I remember even though it felt soft at the time I always used to wake up sore " ❤
Loved 🥰 The Cure since 1982! I was 18 when I heard them MTV. Im 58 and still blast his CD’s!! 🤘🏼I have yet to see him!! Come to Cali!! If I had the money to fly to see them I would. 🫤.
I think a measure of a great band is that they define the sound, the sound does not define them, and because of that they can play many styles of music!
The presenters partner was Michael Hutchins from INXS. The media messed them up. He commited suicide, she died from drugs. They had a daughter. She was married to Bob Geldof.
The second time I saw it strike I saw it at sea It lit up all the fish like rain And rained them down on me For a second that boat was still afloat Then everything went black Left it underwater And I never went back
Hot Hot Hot!!! has some of the most clever pop lyrics Robert has ever written. They're simple to memorize, because if you sing along you'll notice how easily they just roll off the tongue and make perfect conceptual sense. Highly underrated song and one of their very best pop tunes.
How do you go from having the coolest hair land makeup of the 80's to his hairstyle now! At least he still sings the songs right instead of trying to mess them up fresh and new like most retro acts.
Part of it might be because he's balding so he's trying to keep that messy long look to try to preserve a "full headed" look but who knows exactly. You're spot on with him at least sticking to performing his songs naturally without "modernizing" them like some other acts of that era
the first emo bands came out of hardcore punk. im not sure when or where all the modern mopey bands called emo now came from. the term describes a very different thing now than it did back in the mid late 80s.
Emo is a bastardization of imitation of an attempt at what they do. They are far beyond that. Emo is the illegitimate half sibling of Goth which the Cure is associated with to an extent. But they even transcend that classification. They are as they have always been- uniquely their own thing.

th-cam.com/video/vyaJMewthNE/w-d-xo.html hasn't changed? Sounds much lower and like he's out of breath.
2023 y sigue igual, Perú fue un sueño
He sure can!!!
Even now he still sounds fantastic. It's pretty incredible how well his voice has held up for all this time.
Man he is so freaking gorgeous 😍 and so many of his lyrics are simply brilliant..."I remember even though it felt soft at the time I always used to wake up sore " ❤
I saw them last summer and Robert still has that amazing unique voice and the band kicks A S S. ❤️🖤
the amazing thing is that you can look up a current live video and he still sounds the same if not better

hope you manage to get to one of their shows this summer :-)
Love it even with all the clammed guitar notes. Proves it's live and it's real.

Simon.....looks......so.....hot hot hot!
His hair is perfect!!
I remember watching this, a real treat, I was 15
I remember when the Cure were fun and you never knew what genre their next song would be. Good times.
It's still the same. Not sure why you are saying this nonsense.
These are some of my favorite cure songs, seriously all 3. I feel like I've been listening to WCIBY and HHH forever!
man,,,, robert was sooooo fucking pretty ):
anyway, he is an angel forever.

I'm not even ashamed to admit I have a massive crush on Robert Smith. Such a beautiful man with a wonderful, distinctive voice.
Lovely treat,his vocals are amazing♡
Best Band in the World 👍👍😃
During this time Robert could have made me gay.
Creature Of the night He made me glad that I'm straight.
Prove it
Great. I remember taping this at the time. Sadly this was the last ever song to be played on The Tube.
Do you still have your tapes or are they long gone?
Sadly no. I taped every UK TV performance they did from 1983 up to the early 90's but i think they all got binned at some point.
So often thats the case sadly
Love Bob's voice♡
la mejor formación de the cure !!!!.....recuerdo cuando los fui a ver en 1987...... ardía argentina!!!! ..
What a performance!!♡♡
I love the whole thing but that Why Can’t I Be You went so hard.
Loving that green lighting♡
Sweet, funky, simply groovy!!
Love this 3 piece ... What a sweet treat !!!

I saw it at sea
It lit up all the fish like rain

For a second that boat was still afloat

Bitches! This is not a retro act and there is plenty of hair.
@mr2ew, you should be more concerned about your own appearance. Those glasses? 😂
@@Marshall_Stacks True. That's an old picture. I haven't worn them in 15 years. (I still look the same otherwise ;-)

What how
