"There's nothing wrong with my body. This just does not look good on me." Now that's the right attitude! Thank you for making such comment, we need more of them 😊 This decluttering series is awesome!
I'm loving your videos! I too, am a secret slob. I too, had a mom that would come clean my house. She also lived with me for a time, and basically did all the household chores. I am now 33 and tired of being a slob. I have been watching your videos, along with Flylady Diane's videos on 31 baby steps and the difference in my house is almost unbelievable. I have shined my sink for the last 5 nights and just started cleaning my house 2, 5, and 15-30 minutes at a time. For the first time in my life I am cleaning for myself and family, not because we are having people over and it is an entirely different experience- peace instead of stress. Everyone in my house is happier, especially me 😊 Good enough, really is good enough! I am really proud of myself and the tangible results are beyond encouraging. Thank you for sharing your journey, you are inspiring!!
My mom done the same! Still tries to come stay the night and take over and stuff things in nonsense places. If it's not out for me to see to deal with I won't bother..lol and she comes and makes me wanna run and hide bc she defeats my purposes lol
@@libraz83 Omg, too funny! My mom does the same thing! It drives the hubby nuts, to the point where she had to promise not to move anything when she comes to visit at the end of this month😂😂
Great job!!! You made lots of progress!! I put all my socks in a laundry mesh bag so they stay together for the whole washing process. I only open the bag when I am ready to sort laundry. I find the zippered ones stay closed better than the drawstring. The mesh bag is on the side of my hamper so I just put them in the bag each day. Lifesaver!!!!
Yaaay I started this this week. Did my fridge, my bathroom and today I did my junk drawers. Now I’m watching this to do it tomorrow. I started Diane in Denmark’s 40 day challenge two weeks ago and already have Decluttered more than 150 items. So this challenge will definitely help me to find stuff every day to count as my Decluttered items. Thank you so much for helping me. I’ve started Flylady numerous times and every time something sticks so I will keep going. Focusing on the progress.
I absolutely love your videos! I’m a not-so-secret slob and I’m tired of it! Time for me to grow up and join the FlyLady system. Your videos are so inspiring! Not sure if someone has already mentioned this but here’s a tip I saw from another TH-camr: for socks, buy each kid their own color of socks (aka one has only blue socks, one has only green socks) that way they can always be sorted quickly and you know whose is whose. Plus if you can do the same for you and your husband, maybe you wear different brands or something, then it’s way easier to sort. Fun sock designs are cute, but they can be a hassle too!!
You are so cute! And very inspiring. And real. Love it! As for laundry.... I have, possibly 30 years of clothes, in piles, everywhere- my room, guest room, laundry room. Over- whelmed! It the task I NEED TO DO but always put off :’(
I need to find this feeling!! Growing up with nothing and being afraid that something will happen and I won't have the means to get what I would need makes me keep dumb things that I don't use often.
Totally agree. I have only 1 swimsuit and it cost $299.99AUD...the best investment I ever made. Washes well, looks amazing and a classic navy and white polka pattern is timeless. ❤️
wow I have those MEC fleece pants (black) from the 80s too LOL... but they're mine from then and also will never get rid of them and apparently they will never wear out!
You did excellent! I know it's so hard for me to get rid of stuff that people I love have given me, too. I was just thinking though that some turtle fanatic will discover those socks at the thrift store and be over moon so you will be blessing someone you don't even know, and they might be so ecstatic to have found those socks and be in such a good mood that they do something nice for someone else. I know it's not a particular deep insight, but it's about good karma. I love watching curling during the Olympics!
Getting rid of gifts that someone has thoughtfully picked out for you is so hard! I have read though that acknowledging the thought and the person is more important than the object itself. Think fondly of the person who gave the gift and pass it on so that someone else might find it and really enjoy it! Love curling! Do you have it in your town? Its really fun!
I struggled for years with my dresser. Last year I went through my dresser and i went down to 8 pairs of socks (1 fuzzy pair), 7 pair of underware (i do laundry so quick that I really only wear 3 or 4 pair), 2 pair of pj pants, 1 old tshirt, 2 pair of shorts and 2 nightgowns.. Made my life SO MUCH EASIER - now I do have a lot of tanks, but i dont have more than one of the same color.. good job being ruthless
Well done! Great tip on LuLu Lemon. I sent a 10 year old Coach purse back to replace a broken clasp and they returned it with a new clasp PLUS they replaced the strap PLUS they redyed all the leather. New purse now! Love quality.
Naaaawww, you're so cute to watch :) . I like how you talk and show us what you do :) . I too found Diane in Denmark about a year ago, and she made a difference for my house too :). Yesterday it took me 15 minutes to get company ready for a guest. That would never have happened before!
did you ever think about putting dirty socks in a laundry bag,its to launder small items like; bras, socks that go missing. In our household each member has their own bag to place the socks in as they take them off, and usually kept in their basket/container, it makes washing them so much easier, and they are all separated in bags. Folding socks is easy peasy, no missing socks, and no separating your socks from your husbands. We no longer have the missing sock bin, waiting for the other to come out of hiding.
We have what would be considered a "low end" thrift store, the people who work there say folks do buy the underwear. My guess is that some of them can't afford full priced brand new ones.
I had no idea people keep more than one bathing suit. I’ve only had one all my life. I mean, I’ve updated mine every couple of years, but I never have more than one at once. Just never occurred to me.
I think my worst thing about decluttering is parting with things that people I love have given me. I feel obliged to keep them. I try to hint that I don’t want more things or that for my birthday I’d rather chose a gift myself, have money toward something I’m saving for or do an experience instead of a physical gift but I often get things I just don’t want or need and I feel stuck with it. I feel like I’m being ungrateful. I end up keeping everything and now my house has so much ‘stuff’.
This doesn't help with the things you have already, but I have asked my family to not buy me anymore clutter. I ask for a dinner, something consumable, an experience, or even just a promise to watch my kids one weekend. The only clutter exception is books. I have decluttered them but alas I have already gotten more lol
I know a lot of people struggle with this. But the person isn’t the item. It’s the intent that’s cherished for me, not the thing. I think Marie Kondo also illustrates this when she talks about thanking the item for serving its purpose (even if the purpose was the heart intent of the person giving it) and feeling gratitude for a purpose well done, and then passing it on to serve its purpose elsewhere (thrift store or even trash).
"The nice swimsuit store" the Canadian says.. Here I sit in Florida like "Wtf is a nice swim suit store? A nice swimsuit? What does that even mean? The only place to buy suits in person is Walmart.." Something is wrong with this world.

Thank you Agni :)
Girl! Your socks!! Lol my tip is I only buy the same style of socks so they all match! Same with my husband's. No more mismatched socks lol!
Thats what I do. Every two years or so, I replace them all and each person only gets one style. No sock bin.
I love your decluttering enthusiasm. You make my heart smile. Thank you.
Awe thank you Connie 💜

Thank you 😊 stick with it!
The flipped images make me insane (my number one pet peeve), but your videos are so inspiring! I've GOT to make time to do this!!

My closet and dressers are organized perfectly. I clean out the closet four times a year when the season changes.

It really doesn't take that long to organize drawers; we just think it does. Good job!
Not at all, this took about 20 minutes! Little by little every day!
Roller derby - awesome!!!

@@TheSecretSlob Thank you for the tip. I appreciate your help. Unfortunately, no curling. It looks like so much fun!
Socks are my procrastination item! Thanks for making decluttering fun.
We have a similar situation with socks! One big bin with everything tossed in. I HATE matching socks.

Whaat!? That is amazing! Quality wins every time!
Great info. Def motivating. Love to watch and learn the whole process.

I file sock bankruptcy often. Lol. Like dump and buy new. Since I don't wear socks often and I buy them at dollar tree anyway...
Just buy plain white socks. Easy to wash & put together once laubdry is done! 👍
I do the same thing. Except I buy black so you don’t see flashes of white peeking under my jeans or pants 😁
We have what would be considered a "low end" thrift store, the people who work there say folks do buy the underwear. My guess is that some of them can't afford full priced brand new ones.
Do you do your daily routines, weekly home blessing hour, weekly zone cleaning along with your massive decluttering challenge?
Hi :) I do my daily routines and weekly home blessing, but not zone cleaning, that came after the decluttering.
Love your top. Where is it from?
Thank you Clare, it is from 'Free People'
You did great!

I heard something Gretchen Rubin say that really helped with this - "no one wants their gift to be a burden" 💜

You are so dang cute! Who knew you were soooo athletic!!!!
It occurs to me that you could use the old/odd socks as dusting mitts...
Hey that IS a good idea!
I also put them on my mop (looks so strange) but if I'm behind on cleaning the actual fluffy pad, it can be a good place holder :)
The best thing in life was the day my 15 yr old daughter decided she didn't care if her socks matched... Total game changer when folding laundry haha
Ahaha this is everything.
It's the new style to wear mismatched socks, I love whoever started that trend.
Done!
Yay 💪🏻💃
What is the name brand of your bathing suit that you love?
I had to look it up as I am a tag-ripper, lol. It is Bleu by Rod Beattie 'Twister'. I got it at a store called Bikini Village in Calgary.
Gurrrlll. How many feet do have?!! 😂
Very late to the game but did you know here in US on you tube “ budget girl” also did roller derby?
If you're looking for good workout videos, "Sydney Cummings" on yt is *great* :)
You mentioned no baby twice in this video!! You were probably pregnant or soon to be in the video.
I think it was about a month before I got pregnant :)
