- One hour on the timer and GO! I absolutely love the Weekly Home Blessing Hour from the FlyLady system. I know that once the timer goes off, I am totally done and my house is clean. I usually do the WHB on Monday's, but if we have a busy week, I split it up and tackle it one bite at a time over the week.

Isn't it funny how different we all are? I am 72...as a kid we had a pair of shoes for church, shoes, for school and shoes for play. As your church shoes got worn, they became your school shoes, and your school shoes became play shoes. I still pretty much do that today...except don't go to school. We were pretty poor, so in the summer you didn't need any shoes. You know what, I didn't know we were poor...good mom.
By the way, I am not calling them clutter, and it is not morbid to have them there. I just know what she wanted because she lived the last year of her life with us and I took care of her.
I really appreciate this series! I just watched them all and now I will watch them one by one as I start my baby steps each day. Thank you!
🙋Steph,
Thank you so much for these 21 days!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I actually really enjoyed the process quite a bit. You are a total sweetheart!!! Thank you for sharing.
God Bless you richly!!!!
I bet the weather is nice up there where you are. Today in Ga it's about 70 and beautiful. We are getting pollen though. LOL ☺
Thank you for 21 wonderful videos. Your hard work is much appreciated by this 75-years-old flybaby. I have 20 days to get house guest ready for my niece to visit from Sweden. Looking forward to your next housekeeping adventure!
I like to clean the fridge out on trash day
I just binge watched this series in one day. Thank you for making it! I was struggling to figure out exactly what the flylady method is and this series was super helpful. I'm looking forward to implementing it and hopefully gaining control of my home!
Ha Ha! I did too!
Just finished watching all 21 in a row too, while taking notes. Had to stop to give my boys a shower and put them to bed. That’s when I washed my dishes, shined my sink and put my dishes away. The whole shiny sink really does make a difference. Looking forward to tomorrow to implement more of these techniques. Even got my Control Journal underway. Bedtime will be the hardest for me. 😔 Oh and I also subscribed too 😊👍
@@Connie-sx7nz Lately I've FINALLY started doing my sink daily. And it's so much easier than my lazy every-3rd-day. Thanks!
I did binge watch but it is my 3rd time around. You are right, it does sink in more each time (get it - sink like shiny..)
I so appreciate your simplifying all the systems to where it seems much more manageable!
Steph, this is a great video series! It’s easy to lose track of habits and routines when life gets busy or difficult. You’ve created a great method for restarting! I love your attitude: No need to beat ourselves up; we’re here now. We can always start again. I’ll be revisiting this series the next time my inner FlyBaby has gotten lost! 😃
Maaan the beauty of this is....I have an 18 year old, 11 and 5 year old. They can each jump on a task and i can ve done in 30
Awesome! I'll be there in a few years. Good job mama!
Awesome. You are very inspiring. Your baby is just totally gorgeous!
It does give me anxiety, however, that there is no mattress protector under your bed sheet! Please put something underneath the sheet to absorb the sweat! You can't really clean a mattress. I've noticed that Americans, and now Canadians, don't do this, but it's much healthier! And more comfortable.
Monday is also my Home Blessing Hour Day! Although sometimes I divide the hour up through the week. Monday, sheets; Tuesday, glass and mirrors; Wednesday, Dust; Thursday, Vacuum; Friday, mop. Either way, my house gets cleaned with very little effort!
bathroom mirrors. That is also part of daily Swish and swipe. But only THE SPOTTY parts where spray has splattered.
Your videos have really inspired me to get back into the fly lady routines. I loved your baby steps to get back started. I really appreciate your candor and openness. There were some aspects of the system that I just didn't get until I watched you do it and give the rules.
Your flylady videos are so refreshing! I've been trying to follow the system for a few days, but find the website cluttered some of the other You Tube videos about it are boring and hard to get through. Your personality, enthusiasm and style are so great. Thank you, please keep it up!
Thank you so much Noelle :) I will!
*years... not days. 😳 LoL
I put extra trash bags in the bottom of all my trash cans, so when I lift out the "full" bag, there is a fresh bag ready to place in trash can. Hugh time saver
I am doing: Morning Routine, Evening Routine, Weekly Plan and 15 minutes of decluttering every day. Just doing those things... as you said... makes a huge difference. So I'm going to stick with that until those habits are all in my brain and I do them automatically. Right now, I still have to check my Control Journal several times a day to make sure that I am doing all those things.... and to look and see what I am supposed to be doing each day of the Weekly Plan. It will take me a while to have this all come automatically. But.. for me... sticking to the Routines, the Weekly Plan and the 15 mins of decluttering is all that I want to focus on. I have found, in the past, that getting involved with Zone cleaning and Missions and other stuff that the FlyLady keeps talking about in her millions of emails... egads...... overwhelm me and then I just stop cleaning. Keep it simple is my philosophy !! The FlyLady "basic system" is perfect: Routines, Weekly Plan and 15 mins of decluttering. This was a great series... very inspirational. Thank you for doing it for us. I hope that you will be able to find the time to update us once a week..... hint hint.... !!!
I couldn't agree more Susan! I have the exact same thing where I jump in and just get majorly overwhelmed. Stick with the basics, if you are like me, it was more than we were doing before anyways. Thank you for your support, I will get back to it very soon :)
Am I wearing this video out by watching it so much?
For some reason, it's the one that keeps coming up for me - and I'm still learning from it. Being enthused by it. Thank you.
Thank you so very much for this series. I'm sad that it is over. I enjoy your videos and your encouragement and the comments of fellow viewers. You have Diane in Denmark's sweet encouraging spirit. Please keep up the videos when you can. I look forward to them, but I know Mommy duty and taking time for yourself come first as they should. 🌹🌼🌻A thank you bouquet.
Thank you Stef, you are so sweet. Thanks for all of the comments during the series, they really helped me stay on track too! I went on a holiday for a wedding but I am back now and will start videoing again soon! Thanks for your support, have a great day!
This was fun thank you
I just put all 21 days on my calendar. Tonight my sink is shining. I've been trying to get rolling on the Flylady program but haven't been able to until recently so I'm happy to start fresh with your 21 days. Thank you. I'll try to remember to take before and after pictures. 😁👍
I sooooooo appreciate your video series!!! I work 5 days a week and have a 6 year old and the house frequently overwhelms me. Im not a naturally tidy person. You're really helping me to focus in those healthy habits. Thank you!!!! 😘
I have five kids, all but one are over 12, so a lot of this is covered in their daily chores. 😊. Some of the items I’ll likely try to do weekly just because I know they don’t do them as thoroughly as I would and some of the items aren’t on their list but I definitely will have less to do for this day. 🎉
Thank you so much for doing this series. It has helped me re-boot my Flylady routines. I love the weekly home blessing..I split mine up during the week (i.e Saturday is linens, Sunday- Garbage and declutter magazines etc..) Please let us hear from you! Wishing you and your family all the best…:)
Thank you Rhonda! Good point about splitting up the jobs, a great idea! I was on a quick holiday, but I am back and will get back to it soon. Thank you for the well wishes, have a great day!
Thank you so much. You seem so sweet; always smiling & with a cute personality. I've enjoyed this so much! I hope you will continue to inspire us. A 21 day decluttering episode would be very helpful. Decorating, shopping & do you do DIY's? (Just suggestions) I know you are a busy mom. 😊
Thank YOU! I really appreciated all of the loving comments and support during the series. I was on a quick holiday but ill get back to it soon, those are great ideas :) Thanks!
I don't know why you appeared in my feed, probably because i subscribe to Diane in Denmark, but I'm glad you did. You are such a sweet person! Subscribed xx
Thank you :)
I like many of the people below binge watched these over 2 days - now I just need to kick start it - I am already doing the 15 min declutter and have seen massive improvements in my one main area - which is my office / craft room so I spend a lot of time in here - thanks so much
21 days; well done us all 👍🏼. You’ve been a great cheerleader for us & I’ll miss your cheery inspiration. Thank you and enjoy some TH-cam free time . I hope to see you again with updates at some point. X
Thank you Judi :)
Thank you for sharing this with us. I've been doing this playlist and your 21 Day Declutter playlist for the past month, and it's really helping out. Next up is your zone cleaning videos. Thanks for being honest and real in all your videos.
Thank you :)
Thank you for this series! I was sick for over a week so I got behind with your videos. Feeling better so I caught up today. I made a list of the 21 habits you covered and found that about half of them are habits now (finally!). The next two things I’m going to focus on are - declutter for 15 minutes a day and the Weekly Home Blessing Hour. Also - thank you for your explanation of Launch Pad. Not sure why I didn’t “get it” when I started the FlyLady system. Maybe too overwhelmed by everything else and needed to focus on the first few habits - shining my sink, dishes, making my bed, laundry, swish and swipe. Those things are habit now, plus a few others and I find that I am able to add some of the other things. That will make my life easier. I have really enjoyed this series.
Thank you Kathie! Glad you found it helpful :) I know I had to re-read a few things when I first started too as she has some different names for things :) Stick with it, we can do it together!
I've had a shiny sink for 21 days straight! I love walking in the kitchen in the morning and having it twinkle at me. I'm never going back, not this time. Thank you Steph x
Wahoo! You are a star!
You know how they say no shoe policy reduces dirt in the house? Same goes for no eating anywhere outside the dining room. Try it for a week.
Adapting the plan to your lifestyle is important to keeping on top of things. I'm definitely back on track. My sink this morning was nice and clean. Thanks for the guidance. Have a great day.
Lovely to hear Liz :) You have a great day too!
Ok I just zipped through the last couple of days. I’m really excited to finish up this series. Thank you Steph for putting these steps together in a fun and easy way. These baby steps have helped me tackle the big house project and break it into manageable parts. See you in a few weeks for the next series. Thanks again from Colorado!
I love that you use norwex!! I just transitioned to this company!
I'm so proud of myself. This was my first shot at flylady and I killed it! It has instilled a routine in my brain and I do it all without thinking now! Doing things I wouldnt normally do and I have to give all thanks to you! You've changed my life forever! Can't wait to watch the rest of your videos to learn more!
Just started watching yesterday and this is my favorite video by far. You're helping so many people!
Thank you! Love your user name btw :)
Well done. Thanks for the inspiration. Keep the videos going like Diane. I need a the cheer leaders I can get.
Thank you Rosie:) I will try to get some more up soon, I also love Diane, she is my cheerleader too!
just binge watched all 21, loved it - thanks :)
Snap
Me too! ♡
Me, too!
Careful, vinegar is an acid. A soft soap would be neutral ph and less harsh. Vinegar is good for areas with hard water. It's a good de scaler and de greaser.
YAY I made it through 'watching' all 21 videos! I have begun implementing the flylady system (again) - you did a great job breaking it all down. I'll try to go back through to like/comment on the videos so you get credit!
When I wake up at 5:40 I wake up kids for school till 7:45, I should write it out and show them when they get home.. you use vinegar and water to do your mirrors and what else you use it for
I use it for everything! Counters, mirrors, bathrooms, floors. I have little kids and they get into everything. Sometimes I add a few drops of dish soap for floors. And I do have an abrasive cleaner for my shower stall (when I eventually get to it) lol.
The Secret Slob how much of each do you use, I’m going to try that
@@littlecurlylocks I use about 1/3 vinegar, 2/3 water in whatever container i use. And then if i add dish soap it is just a few drops.
Great series! I did a "reset" in January - I think that's a good idea for all of us; it reinforces our routines. Thanks for sharing!! 👍👏👏👏
Weekly home Blessing I delegate to my kids, Lol if they will do it.. I have 6 kids 19, 17, 15, 14, 12, and 9
Totally! 10 minutes on the timer, and GO!
It was very helpful!! Thanks! Hope you make a serie about the zone cleaning to😉.
Love Desi (the Netherlands)
Thank you! I will try :)
Thank you so much for all of the information. I’ve been sitting here writing notes 📝 I’ve binge watched all the 21 days but I will now go back and start from the beginning. By the way, I totally agree that other people in the house should help out and teaching little ones early will make their lives easier when they leave home. Look forward to catching up on your other videos. Keep up the good work 👏👏👏
This series has been so helpful and motivating!
Glad to hear it Kathy! :)
It's been wonderfully inspiring to follow your journey! I'm still on day 4, so I've got a ways to go. 😊 Thank you for sharing! 💗
Thanks Lisa, you got this! Let me know how it is going! :)
With the doors ...I was always lost with this one. I mean there is no way to wipe all the doors in 10m so I just do the doors that are in the zone that I am working on that week. :) That means they only get done once a month but hey ....at least they get done. :)
You are such a sweetheart ❤️. These tips really help. Thank you!
I have to admit, I binge watched and did the things after each video. So I watched them all in one day. But I've done fly lady before so I think I can hit the ground running. My house looks better already and I think it'll look great in a week and even better in a month. Thanks for the reboot!
Thank you so much... Watching your Videos keeps me motivated.
What is your ratio of water to vinegar in your cleaning spray?
Thanks for your videos!! I love them!!💞
thx so much! this series has been brilliant, really inspiring and motivating to get my butt off the couch! thx xx
Your house looks great
Are you using a Norwex mit and pink window cloth? They're just supposed to be used with water (no vinegar or any other cleaners or essential oils). 😁 I absolutely love my Norwex cleaning cloths! And the body cloths are wonderful too!!
Hello Steph, I love your videos, new and old ones just as well, because you have always such a positive energy and great smile!!! And you know that, cause I often comment eheh :)
One thing I wonder is: doesn't the vinegar water mix make the whole house smell intensly like vinegar ? Because, that's what happens to me when I clean with that, even if I only spray once on a mirror!!! :/ Maybe you use a special vinegar? or do you have a system to take the potent odor out?
(I use italian white vinegar, because I live in Italy and I wonder if that also make it different from yours...)
Thanks and have a great day!
I mix it 2/3 water with 1/3 vinegar and I don't find the smell lasts too long.. maybe it is an Italian vinegar thing? 💜 Sometimes I burn a candle while I clean to make the house smell nice
Well done series!
I still struggle with the evening routine, too. (1.5 years doing the flylady system) 😬
Me too, i am a morning person and I don't have a lot of energy at night. I try to get it done right after dinner.
Good Job! 💜
I want to see a close up of that cleaning mitt! I've never seen one. What kind of fabric is it? Where did you get it?
It's microfiber from Norwex.
Is it ok to use vinegar water on wood floors?
I have recently learned that it may dull the finish on your floors over time... I use a very diluted solution, but I am thinking of switching to something else.
Did you say CULLING or Calling magazines and newspapers? What is it; tossing them?
culling. tossing, or recycling :)
So how do you get things done so much when you have to work out of the house 40 or more hours a week? Not to mention when you have a chronic autoimmune disease that saps every ounce of energy you have. I'm not trying to whine but it's not easy.
Hi Rose. I am in a different situation from you for sure. My best advice is give yourself a break when you need it, and just try your best to get done what you can with the energy you have :) Every little thing you do is progress towards your goal and that is what counts
@@TheSecretSlob thank you so much for such a nice reply. I hope whatever situation you're in, comes out wonderful for you. And if you need it, please take care of yourself. Thanks again for the reply.
My problem is I get so energized from the changes I see that I just keep cleaning (&then I get burnt out again)
Oh man.. me too!
timer...timer...timer. 😁
The moment eating is not allowed in the living room on the regular, clean up time is reduced in that room.
What vacuum do you have. Do you like jt
I have a Miele - it is from Costco. It works great! I did just buy a Shark Rocket stick vacuum too, because I found the canister was annoying to drag around.
💖
My house is very cluttered and messy with 6 kids and I’m a widow
Misty Kester: I'm very sorry for your loss. Sending you encouragement. Just do what you can. You have a lot on your plate. Small baby steps win the day!
Hi Misty, that is a lot to handle. I have known this system for awhile but always enjoy the encouragement. If you learned a lot from this you might enjoy watching A better life with Flylady Kat. She is full of tips and has tons of videos. She goes live twice a day between 8-10am eastern and 6-8pm. It’s a good community for encouragement and ideas.
@@carriejoy266 Adding on to your aewsome advice to Misty, Diane in Denmark on TH-cam is also great. She and Steph have a very similar encouraging style. She uploads videos 5 says a week and posts on Instagram. I have learned from Diane to just do a little each day and to not get in the futile perfection loop. Wishing you the best.
I watch Diane as well! She’s down to 3 days a week now but yes I agree she has the same cheerleader spirit! All fun to listen to while your decluttering or need a kick in the pants!
I cannot imagine the stress you are under. If you can, start small and just get a little done every day. Get your kids involved and use the timer to make it a race :) Hope this helps, I know you can do it! :)
How much vinegar do you put in your bottle
1/3 full of vinegar, 2/3 full of water. I just eyeball it :)
where are you? you are missed!
Hii!! I am here 😊 making new videos very soon! Hope you are keeping up with your routines 😊
👏👏👏 😘👍🌹
This channel is very inspiring, but it bothers me so much that it seems to be only the women's job when everyone participates in making the mess. Husbands sometimes "help" but they don't take responsibility for it being their job. Look at all the "clean your house" channels on youtube and they're all done by women. Why? It makes me angry. Even though my son helped clean the house when he lived here, he had to be reminded, I had to make his checklist, etc. I was still in charge! Grrrr.
