It boggles my mind that the expensive stuff, like signed NFL memorabilia, paintings, the giant wall-mounted rug (an iconic piece to remember someone by!), and personal effects like the keys and trophies, and not to mention the food, is just simply discarded as trash and left behind by the family.... Absolutely mind-blowing....
I'm only half an hour into the video, but I am giggling at the thought of some poor person having to buy all the kitchen cupboards because the watermelon set was spread out all over the place. Or maybe they aren't all a set? Still, it's amusing to me.
That Akai tape recorder was several hundred dollars back in the 1970 and 80's! That brand was top of the line of consumer level electronics.. Love the long auction videos!
Watching these estate sales should remind us all to declutter and clear out your loved possessions yourself and not to leave it to family or a stranger . There would be pleasure in seeing your stuff going to other collectors. Even the daily household items can be given or sold to someone who really needs it whereas it might be bundled together as 1 lot in an estate clearance.
I’d say otherwise. I couldn’t tell you how often we have a client throw something away that was valuable. The last one we did (with all the beer signs) the family thought it was all worthless and we got them $11 or $12k. My advice is to either do it yourself (usually the owner knows the value of things) or leave it to a professional. Family, unless they’re knowledgeable on the items, shouldn’t go through it (other than to find items they want to keep for themselves / family).
@ResaleRabbit You are always sensitive to the original owner whether it be an estate clearance or a storage unit. Family or a guardian just want to get the task done quickly and cheaply .

@@ResaleRabbit I agree! I recently did my Uncle's estate. He had a LOT of good stuff. (Just an example...over 6000 LP's...3/4 of them still sealed!) Other family members disagreed. But, I held my ground and had almost 6 2-day sales. We made over 15K. I was right...haha! And so are you. Family should not go through stuff. In my case, my family would have kept everything for themselves. I did have a professional helping me, though, who is a family friend!
If you’re shipping to Canada, Canada Post is on strike , just to let you know . Regarding the 1.00 & 2.00 Canadian paper money . We replaced the 1&2 notes with the loonie coin and the twonee coin . Lots of people considered the 2.00 bill bad luck lol . I used to work in a bank . I lost count of how many folks wanted the one dollar bills instead of the 2.00 bill. On a side note, we also did away with the penny . Thanks for this auction video . Hope you will do more of them. Best of luck on your Christmas warehouse sale .
I know it's far too late but you sold the Corelle set by itself but left the matching salt and pepper shaker in the skinny cabinet to the right of the sink. Saw it right away when you opened that cabinet. Might have bumped the Corelle set up a few bucks if that had been included.
Looking forward to watching! Thank you for taking us along and the long video. These are interesting and different. I have to ask are you doing a Christmas warehouse sale?
Sports collectors stuff like that santas village is one of my specialties. If someone got that for under a hundred then they scored, 350-500 for that series.
Go back to the cubbies in the Garage and check out the picnic basket. It looks like it may have value. If it is Amish it could be worth 100.00. Also, people around here will pay big bucks for anything Packers signed or not! The program from the Ice Bowl is so cool!
That weird little room with the built in bench seat might have been a phone booth where the kids could get a little privacy, or maybe the adults too lol
RABBIT - just a note - re: the questions about the bed - the receipt proves the fact that they are separate - EX: 3/3XL MATT, WHILE THE NEXT LINE SHOWS 3/3XL ADJ (ADJUSTABLE) BASE - so the way I read the receipt, there is only ONE side that is adjustable. So I guess selling as separate is the best call (unless you either find another remote OR batteries are dead on other side (Did you find out by looking that the other side has an adjustable base as well???) - BEST OF LUCK - with the auction !!!
There was a quantity of 2 for each (the mattress and the foundation). They are both adjustable and each have a remote, however I think they were intended to be two twin beds. Usually a split king has a single foundation (or they’re at least attached together) and the remote operates both sides.
Yo, you're butchering his name.. Ma-cow-ski. You don't deserve that painting haha.. Seriously though, if you haven't sold it, I'd gladly take it off your hands
Do you ship anything from the estate sales? As someone not from WI but a Packers fan, some of this GB stuff you find that isn't GREAT for a market saturated in that stuff, I'd love to have.
@@ResaleRabbit Awesome! Just subscribed to the Auction newsletter. Hopefully I can snag some of the little Packers chachkis that don't go for too much to decorate my office here in a few months!

@GuyWithTheDogs I know, I get sales regularly of 40-60 for a single magnet. It's just hard to believe entirely what's going on when you see sums going around like this
You literally missed his whole talk about why it was valuable. He said 80 at most exist (that's not saying that 80 are available for public purchase) and that sign hung on Lombardi Ave. For a local or a Packers fan to have something with that kind of story, they'd probably spend up on it. Heck, it may have only been one person he was bidding against too since the person won it after his last bid.
@zwroberts1 Yeah, this kind of thing would sell way less in a down economy as it is not a necessity, that's when you buy low and hold to sell high later.

I never end my highest bid on a round number. Instead of $500 I’d put high bid at $510 hoping they’d drop out at round figure.

Careful with the promo cars, I sold one a few days ago for about $300. Anything older than 1970 is valuable if in good shape.
When I buy that house I'm going to install recessed lighting in that low-headroom area. 🙂
Now days someone could just install led strip lights

I might be able to get you a original Lombardi Ave sign. I know someone who has 2 or 3 of them.

That sign went for just over 1,000!
Dutch or Flemish name. Watermolen is a watermill...

Who pays 1,000 dollars for a sign?! Economy is so bad.........I can't imagine that's a reality with some these prices.

Cut the warehouse sales to every 4 months. And concentrate on doing these estate and weekly auctions.
Might go better for you next year.
He's been doing 2 auctions a week most of the time this year. I think it's helped
