Ret is horrendous to play in SS and 2v2. It has no survivability compared to every other class. Word of Glory is lackluster and you will eventually oom anyway. No buffs and only nerfs seems absolutely ridiculous.
Yes Ret is a joke in 2s and solo, all the utility is useless, you can't turn around shit, in solo after 1400 I've been only getting draws or losses. In 2s I've been playing double dps with a friend, no chance versus healer/dps.
the Herald nerf + the conquest weapon quest reward being the crit mace + the weak survivability is cumulatively so frustrating. Fun detected, must stomp on it I guess.

We need class rework asap and not just for ret. These types of nerfs/buffs never did any good, it seems like they don't even test the changes, they just throw a random number to increase or reduce damage of certain ability and done.
I hope they bring back the templar's 12 second window, yes it was a bug, but it was also way more fun than the intended design to the point where I thought you only getting one hammer of light was the bugged version.

They mind as well remove divine protection and take divine shield off the Gcd. I never saw the value in divine protection. I use it by itself, and alongside vengeance.. even in Delves it really isn't all that helpful. Its like the flash of light without crit or proc that doesn't move your hp bar and instead just drains your mana.. your healer dies and you end up using bubble anyway. Idk.. the rambles of a Rookie I guess.
Templar feels like shit , it felt amazing when you could use hammer of light multiple times after wings for a few days with that bug. Herald does insane aoe damage but it lacks any kill pressure
at this point all players know that Blizzard will not let this class get better than a limit point. this happens in every new wow. they let the ret good but they start to nerf it slowly in each new update and when it goes to trash they do a rework to save it again. i just dont understand. this happend in df-shadowlands too
They can't even read their skills, Light's guidance is bugged for like eternity, it was fixed by a mistake and you could actually use it couple of times in a window, so they switched it again and you can use it once..

@@SIIKAP1 First week of the season, if you're playing at 1600 you're going to encounter 2.3xp teams 70% of the time until week 3 perhaps. I'd encourage you to keep playing and beating these teams, as when week 3-7 comes through, you'll be prepared to get glad, hero, or legend which ever has you.
I regularly saw ret in the top 5 DPS during heroic and normal raid. Dawnlight does indeed do a shit ton of damage but I loved that. Finally an expansion where ret gets on top since fucking wrath/cata. Ah well, it was fun for a couple of days.

Dude, let’s face it, as soon as Paladin starts cracking skulls, they nerf it. Paladin has been, and will always be, the most shit on class; and I’m a ret pally main! Pve and PvP, the moment ret starts pumping out big numbers, the community cries (especially the PvP community) and blizzard goes “oh shit! We’re sorry. Yeah, we’ll nerd them ASAP!”. The moment ret mains are having fun, BAM, nerf city!
The constant Nerf to rep pin does not strike up confidence in the direction of the spec. Even with all the healing buffs still one of the weaker if not, still the weakest hybrid he from what I’ve seen, and the single target is abysmal at best.
I think the reason Blizz isn't buffing Rets or Paladins in general right now is because they're reworking the entire class anyways for the 20th anniversary. I'm guessing they will tune other classes down a bit, instead of tuning Ret up.
Think you may be surprised to see that for shuffle there’s actually more fury, unholy dh, and ret than both assa and sub rogue specs combined from 15-1800 which is where most people are everyone over 1800 nearly is multi glad or r1 or tourney players. I also think they are making smaller live adjustments for certain classes that are getting much more extensive ones for 11.05 What I am shocked to see is zero mention of frost mage nerfs for 11.05 or the patch Tue. They seem to be hitting the classes that have lots of hero talent dmg. They are also nerfing dh and fury wouldn’t jump to far ahead dooming and glooming until you can compare relative to others post changes including the ones coming in the next 8~ weeks which imo will make ret way way better. It’s not even a week into the season so I’m okay with small adjustments weekly or biweekly rather than massive changes all at once. I did several blitz’s on my WW and every details meter break down for ret Dawnlight was like 50+% of the dmg lol usually it looked more similar to how Icelance looks on a frost mage dmg breakdown but ya hopefully they could reduce it even more and put some dmg into TV majority of classes hero talents seem to fall in the 7-15% dmg range. Be cool if they left divine protection the way it was and gave us wotlk style sacred shield that would play great into the instant FoL. Both my ret and WW feel like they are riding the short bus atm feels bad 😢 but at least DH is worse lol

WW is prob worse than every melee class other than DH(which has a better kit), enhance(which is getting massive buffs) and ya that’s about it…there’s one WW in the top 200 players for 3v3. Even ret has 5x that so does arms warrior…fury sub assa unholy frostdk etc all have way more. WW has good mobility for running away but even worse defensives than ret a worse stun and worse cc and wears leather armor lol yes they are solid in 1v1 but against good players they are very very easy to exploit inside arena and they are absolute garbage in bgs because of long CD crowd control and how weak the defensives are.
I was enjoying Herald til I saw my Dawnlights only ticking for 120k and stacking up to 30s on people just to be immuned later. Dawnlight needs to have a shorter burn time or stack in intensity. I had better experiences in SRBG/Blitz when I went templar, against all thinking, because I was tired of having no passive sustain and literally expiring against MM hunters or any other class. WoG somehow is just as strong as EF if not more so cause it seems to heal more based on Healing Light, And the absorbs and free healing keep me up better. I also ran JV and instantly started winning 1v1's that happen alot in blitz for Flag spinning JUST BECAUSE I CAN SURVIVE NOW. Hit 1600 blitz at 15W-8L games played.
Honestly templar feels horrible now that they reverted that change. They should have just played with hammer of lights damage or something. Don't feel like ret needed a nerf for herald tho, 15% dmg reduction is gonna suck.
I know it sucks brothers but we can hold out for October when the new patch drops, we will feel a bit stronger I'm hoping and there is still room for changes /buffs before then as well.
Prot pal needs a buff, i get clowned on half the time. I can take on 1 dps usually but it depends on the spec. Last season prot pal felt amazing, i didnt die in 3 seconds to a single warrior, even 3 warriors combined i could last a while. Disc priests are the only real pvp tanks at the moment. Afflic lock nukes me, warrior nukes, evoker nukes, mage nukes. Fun spec and class but not fun to die before i know whats happening. Hero talents feel near useless too. When it was bugged and i could land 3-4 hammers of light it was amazing. 1 hammer of light does literally nothing when every single dps spec has massive healing.
Was horrified to learn HoL was reverted back to one use per WoA(tool tip still doesn't match functionality). Leveled Ret to 80, fully honor geared and enchanted prior to S1 launch, then did 1 BG in S1 on launch and got globaled just about immediately after every Rez if the appropriate immunity wasnt active. If Im only allowed to be dead as Ret it will remain shelved. Damage feels bad because being CCed is near constant, and Plate armor feels like it is made of paper. How far we've fallen from 10.0.7.
?? Ret is B tier. I played way too many arenas and it’s ALL warriors, DKs, monks, mages, and affliction locks. I faced maybe one ret, maybe. Ret’s damage is very low compared to almost all other classes. Saying they have “above average” damage is a joke.

The Templar strike window was a bug, especially because once you triggered the capstone giving you a free Templar strike it gave you another 12 sec window to keep casting Templar strike I was able to get off like 7 Templar strikes between wakes. Clearly not intended and gave divine purpose way way way too much power as a talent. Dawnlights cranked super hard in pve it was the best spec in both m+ and raid after they made Dawnlight correctly scale with damage it is regularly my highest damaging ability in aoe and single target competing with final verdict and divine storm in both scenarios This is one of the first balance patches and we still don't have tier so if we do end up being lower than a lot of the other classes after they get their tier i expect to see don't buffs it's not the end of the world, and that's going mostly towards people in the comments who say they are quitting over this

Paladins scale extremely well with master now even more than with strength so having a hard hitting dot like this I can see being a problem in pvp and if the damage is too low they can always rebalance. I just don't see the issue the first week into the season before tier sets are even owned by a majority of people. Balance still to come just be patient. I think ret players that think it's bad are just playing too selfish and only looking at their performance. In a solo environment I get it, but even in solo if I bop a mage who is being trained by a warrior all of a sudden the warrior is dead and the mage is still full hp. You are not the star of the show, you are the supporting cast with very telegraphed burst windows, you can solo carry it's just not going to feel like you did anything yourself. Maybe it feels unsatisfying but it's definitely not bad.

Templar needs two changes to the Unrelenting Charger talent. First, the 130 speed should be permanent, and second, the slow and roots resistance.

Ret burst isn’t nonstop it’s every 45 seconds when wake of ashes comes off cd. In between that it’s pretty weak dmg

DH is like a dead water class. BOTH hero talent trees are either overly convoluted for DPS class or there is no significant damage.
Because Sub rogues are trash right now and if you aren't doing good with WW right now then you're not doing right with how good they are

With the utility that is being added to Divine Protection in the rework, it would be nice if its cooldown was reduced.
overperforming on trash. i was typically the top damage dealer on day on 1 trash pulls and dead last on the boss damage..
trash damage doesnt matter at all. only thing ppl care about is dps on the bosses.

Honestly templar feels horrible now that they reverted that change. They should have just played with hammer of lights damage or something. Don't feel like ret needed a nerf for herald tho, 15% dmg reduction is gonna suck.
That templar change killed ret for me, being able to get 3 hammer of lights in felt great now its poo poo
About PvP changes:
Prot pala doesnt have DP, maybe the 50% buff to dp is to retribution.

I know it sucks brothers but we can hold out for October when the new patch drops, we will feel a bit stronger I'm hoping and there is still room for changes /buffs before then as well.
I hope they bring back the 12 second window for Templar. It gave us some good single target damage that we need.
Prot doesn't have divine prot ability. It is probably a typo and they thought about ret.

Prot pal needs a buff, i get clowned on half the time. I can take on 1 dps usually but it depends on the spec. Last season prot pal felt amazing, i didnt die in 3 seconds to a single warrior, even 3 warriors combined i could last a while. Disc priests are the only real pvp tanks at the moment. Afflic lock nukes me, warrior nukes, evoker nukes, mage nukes. Fun spec and class but not fun to die before i know whats happening. Hero talents feel near useless too. When it was bugged and i could land 3-4 hammers of light it was amazing. 1 hammer of light does literally nothing when every single dps spec has massive healing.
I just stack the 1.8 million health pvp trinket with shield of vengeance and seems to hold long enough
The reason they nerf herald is because its doing more damage than templar while being vastly easier to perform.

Was horrified to learn HoL was reverted back to one use per WoA(tool tip still doesn't match functionality).
Leveled Ret to 80, fully honor geared and enchanted prior to S1 launch, then did 1 BG in S1 on launch and got globaled just about immediately after every Rez if the appropriate immunity wasnt active. If Im only allowed to be dead as Ret it will remain shelved. Damage feels bad because being CCed is near constant, and Plate armor feels like it is made of paper. How far we've fallen from 10.0.7.

Reason of blizzard to nerf ret is because the damage is above average while the class is just too easy to play. Check wowhead. Thats why they nerf it.
?? Ret is B tier. I played way too many arenas and it’s ALL warriors, DKs, monks, mages, and affliction locks. I faced maybe one ret, maybe. Ret’s damage is very low compared to almost all other classes. Saying they have “above average” damage is a joke.
At this point of ret blessing of an'she feels stronger than the whole templar. inconsistent as shit but still stronger. Hope it gets buffed, at least in pvp.

Just waiting for the rework rn, ret is alright but nerfs are dooming us yet again, meanwhile my dk is wrecking everything with insane gapcloses, insane burst damage and superb self sustain. Really sad to see. Pally is supposed to be the one class that has the insane burst damage and self sustain, yet here we are.

But regardless of meta i been playing templar and im going positive in blitz and solo shuffle topping damage at 1600 rating but yea that usable 2 maybe 3 if lucky hammer of light was nice and divine protection needs to be 20 fasure and 10 you dont feel it at all monks and assassination is going nuts on us
But there is gear that will buff wake of ashes by 15% and blades of justice by 15%
2 and 4 set are both halved in pvp

aoe is great but single target it is lacking abit for pve so far having a great time with pala
The Templar strike window was a bug, especially because once you triggered the capstone giving you a free Templar strike it gave you another 12 sec window to keep casting Templar strike I was able to get off like 7 Templar strikes between wakes. Clearly not intended and gave divine purpose way way way too much power as a talent.
Dawnlights cranked super hard in pve it was the best spec in both m+ and raid after they made Dawnlight correctly scale with damage it is regularly my highest damaging ability in aoe and single target competing with final verdict and divine storm in both scenarios
This is one of the first balance patches and we still don't have tier so if we do end up being lower than a lot of the other classes after they get their tier i expect to see don't buffs it's not the end of the world, and that's going mostly towards people in the comments who say they are quitting over this
Your comment doesnt make sense. Everyone here os talking about pvp not pve. If its busted in pve nerf it in pve. Why shred only somewhat viable pvp build alongside it?

@@cemtastemir109 that's not true there's definitely pve'rs here I've spoken to them numerous times. Paladins scale extremely well with master now even more than with strength so having a hard hitting dot like this I can see being a problem in pvp and if the damage is too low they can always rebalance. I just don't see the issue the first week into the season before tier sets are even owned by a majority of people. Balance still to come just be patient.

@@r-ex2945 yes and they already said in a blue post they'll be balancing tier sets for specs where they are too strong and too weak, but I imagine they need more data first when millions of people will be using them.
My point in mentioning tier is to say nobody but the luckiest 0.1% of players have tier yet so balancing is going to keep happening in the next couple weeks as more data comes in

Herald was the only thing going for us in dungeons to compete with fury warriors and the mages and the rest of the overpowered classes , a fury warrior literally 2x the dmg ret paladin does in pve even without the nerf... so stupid . i guess ill roll with my DK this expansion .

I think ret players that think it's bad are just playing too selfish and only looking at their performance. In a solo environment I get it, but even in solo if I bop a mage who is being trained by a warrior all of a sudden the warrior is dead and the mage is still full hp. You are not the star of the show, you are the supporting cast with very telegraphed burst windows, you can solo carry it's just not going to feel like you did anything yourself. Maybe it feels unsatisfying but it's definitely not bad.

@@grimoire3940 apparently Ret is really strong in PvE. It will probably still be good. And so far I haven’t run into any problems pushing in 3s! 2s is a bit rough but I guess we’ll have to see when the changes come Tuesday.
