I was at the US Open last year (2023) and saw Ben Shelton serve a 153mph serve. It was an ace. I think he was playing Tommy Paul. The interesting thing about how fast the serve was is that the ball went so fast that you saw it hit the court before you heard it. It bounced once and then hit the wall at the back of the court. I've never seen anything quite like it. Amazing.
Emma still using the older V6 2021 Vcore 100. Been searching all racket shops for left overs as it is an exceptional stick. Newer is not always better.
It's interesting how tennis and football lie on different places in the skill-athleticism spectrum. Tennis is more skill, (relatively) less athleticism, and football is (relatively) less skill and relies more on just raw, brute athleticism. This is why at the beginner level here, Ben and Emma were able to put up a presentable front whereas the Miami Dolphins couldn't even touch the ball.
I think its more cuz throwing has a very similar technique to a tennis serve. Also anyone can throw(just at different skill levels) but not everyone knows how to swing a racket because I wouldn't consider a tennis racket a household item. That's why most people look like fools when they first use tennis rackets.
@@MrRandoI used to think the same, but the NFL is no joke bro. Dudes bodies are getting destroyed every week from the pounding. People have died playing football. Ain’t ever here that in tennis. Tennis is no doubt up there too. I played D1 I know the grind. But man NFL got some freaks in there
This was hilarious😅 I've ALWAYS wanted to see a normal human being try and return a top atp serve. I've watched exhibition matches where top players deliberately play soft tennis and it's not nearly as much fun as watching people trying to return those 120 mph serves!
@@AJ-iu6nw Not really. He's probably a solid 200 lbs. To be a college QB he'd have needed to get to about 215, 220. He clearly has the frame to add that kind of bulk in one summer weight training program.

i was there too, believe it was 149 mph tho
@@keiraidontknow That sounds right. They replayed it on the giant screen and it was still unbelievable.
Emma and Ben are great representatives for USA!
the sound of bens serve 💥
Ben’s serve is so satisfying to watch. Most explosive since Roddick. Gets so much speed despite not being a giant like Raonic, Isner and co.

yooo that was fun. we should have more crossover things like this. thanks for putting this together!

David thought he had Ben's serve figured out, and then Ben hit him with the lefty spin
Ben Serve is TOP TIER 💯

Ben has an amazing serve
Love seeing Ben so relaxed next to Emma. They seem like a couple.
I'm getting that sense, too
What a serve! 🎾🔥
Bennyboy casually hitting a 140mph serve
Great for tennis!
BENSKI serving bombs out here. Damn!
Shelton would be a good QB in a different life
He's the perfect size for a QB and has a rocket for a left arm. Plus he clearly has the work ethic and character

Tennis requires insane athleticism

@@spinshotballmachine for a professional tennis player? just as much training but in different facets.

It was the Ben Shelton show. He was sucking up all the air in Miami.

are the dragonball z noises apart of ben's actual serve or is that an added effect?
Shelton was recruited for college football no?
naw he way too scrawny compared to a football player

Ben and Emma were better at tennis and throwing the football than these guys. Lol.
NBA next....or even MLB?🤔
These guys have major upside

This tournament drags on too long
All Masters 1000 events are 12 days, to ensure the players have a day off between each match (weather permitting).
