Players should be allowed to think and do the problem solving on their own rather than pouring advices every single point. This new rule change takes away the very essence of the game. Apart from Alcaraz all top players like to do it the old way anyways.
I think allowing coaching during matches is changing the very nature of tennis. Figuring out tactics and making adjustments by oneself during matches used to be one of the defining elements of tennis. Intelligence and emotions used to go hand in hand with technical abilities, now the brain part is becoming less of a factor. Personally I would prefer no coaching allowed during matches.
A Shelton video?! You sure you didn't mean to post another one of Alcarant? Well, aren't we lucky. I do like this mic'd up series. I agree with Bryan, stand closer to the baseline, otherwise it's so easy to lose control of the point & get pushed around. I wonder what Bryan thought about the music when they started playing Justify My Love in the 3rd set of Shelton's next match.
For someone so ostensibly calm and tranquil, it is a bit surprising to have such a garish and lurid player like Shelton as a protégé and son. However, it might be expected when considering Bryan's (the older Shelton) two decades of coaching with College tennis, undoubtedly dealing with the Shelton-esque conduct on the court an innumerable amount of times, cultivating a sort of partial indifference and carelessness about obtrusive celebrations and the like (after having dealt with it so many times, it's really no wonder). Similarly, it's possible that Bryan was almost identical to Ben in his younger years (which could be be substantiated by watching his early pro career (which is accessible, I believe), something I have not done) and has cooled off and acquired wisdom and equanimity only in his later years. Not an uncommon occurrence for the rash and impetuous, the energetic and effervescent, the lively, unbridled, and immortal youth to lose their once seemingly-unending zest and energy, or perhaps just a partial chastening by old age. Maybe it's entertaining to watch the gaudy celebrations--of Shelton, mainly, but whoever--but I can't affirm either way. Amusing, shameful, slightly enjoyable but ignominious? No classification here, for people formulate their own opinions. Ah, merely another day in this life, the solitude and loneliness of the oarsman travelling down the infinite river, the tune of the forgotten man incessantly and nasally striking my ears. But soon, soon, soon is it not remembered, just like everything else. Ephemeral is this world.

People have gotten used to players playing as good as Carlos at 20, he made the USO semifinals so he is the best American talent on tour. Of course they are going to make video's about him they would be stupid not to.
The semi-final of a home grand slam is cool, but it’s not enough. Let him win at least one ATP title. America just needs a new tennis hero and they are making a hero out of him. But he is still very far from Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and other great American tennis players. Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe are higher in the rankings. I just cant believe that people are getting excited about Shelton... the only good thing he has done is beat a low level Tiafoe to reach the US SF, advancing to the top 20, reaching the AO QF was okay but the draw was not that high level. From the AO until the US open he did not even win two matches in a row. The best win he had in that tine was against Eubanks at the Cincinnati masters before the US Open. He needs to bring what he brought to the US Open and keep doing that outside of slams, if he does not do that there is nothing to see with Shelton.

He didn't even start playing tennis till then. His first trip out of the country was at the AO where he made the quarters.
