No word about what happened to Sarah, the neighbour! She knew from the beginning, she went to the pharmacy with Kate, she even tasted the poisoned wine and she said absolutely NOTHING! I am sorry, but this was FAR more than just a fleeting fantasy, and Sarah actually took part in all these preparations, so I don't buy her story of "I didn't believe it was real" at ALL. She knew all along and she never said a word to anyone - if your neighbour was preparing to murder her husband and took you along for weeks, wouldn't you have said something to someone? Neither the iron solution nor the antifreeze were fantasies, they were REAL, and yet no one thought to ask stupid Sarah what she was waiting for to actually open her mouth?! She was a part of the scheme, not an innocent bystander as she pretends to be. She didn't think it was real, my ars*.
Couldn't have said it better myself! She should have been charged with aiding and abetting (!that's what it's called here in the states, not sure if it's called something different across the pond).

That woman must have seen / heard the ambulance, that took this poor man to hospital. You are so right - she knew exactly what was being planned. In my opion, she only spoke up eventually from fear that she would be implicated. She absolutely should have been prosecuted . The pair of them are utterly vile.
Yet if it hadn't been for her speaking up when she did, Lee would be dead.
That poor man. He didn’t deserve that. It was so sad seeing him like that. I hope he has a damn good life now with his son, his mum and his lovely brother. He deserves every happiness.

The nurse who is taking care of Lee, and walking hand-in-hand with Lee in the last scene, has genuinely happy and kind eyes. THIS is a good woman, here.

Antifreeze poisoning is excruciating. Apart from the actual horrendous act of putting the poison in food, it is beyond my understanding how one can stand by and watch the person who loves you suffering beyond words. Now that is the true definition of evil.

The woman sought the quickest way to instant riches and found instead the quickest way to permanent jail-term. She has all of 30 yrs to ponder and figure out for herself just where things went wrong. To that end, the court has been very merciful to her indeed.

Poor man. Not everyone finds a good man like this one, my heart hurts for what he has endured. His family and work colleagues are his gold. 30 years is nothing compared to what he has gone through.

I just googled this case, she was sentenced in 2008 and told she'd serve at least half of the 30 years before being eligible for parole. That could mean shes eligible for parole now which is a horrible thought!

About 2:30 Kate's Narscissts traits are described:. She was bubbly and outgoing (superficial charm). She liked everything Lee liked (a narcissist will seem like a dream partner and love bomb their Target). Everything moved fast. (They chose gentle, kind, loving and agreeable partners and rush thungs). As soon as she entered Lee's Mother's home she went right to the cupboards and opened them looking for tea instead of greeting and asking (sense of entitlement). And Lee's Mother noticed she was domineering and had to have the last word on everything. And she was motivated by money. The terraced house wasn't good enough for her. She wanted more.
Kind loving gentle people don't always notice these things when they're in love.

I cried during the part where he learned he was blind and deaf. I just loved his dialect and accent too! I could listen to him for hours. I'm so glad he found a girlfriend who looks very pretty! His family obviously love him deeply. I wish you all the best - from California.

And they have been released which was a monumental mistake, one of those pricks keeps getting arrested for sexual abuse of children and child pornography, he was either relocated to NZ or here in AU of all places. I'm just so happy that he found someone after his horrific experience and I'm extremely satisfied that Kate has to serve her sentence knowing full well through the grapevine that Lee has a new girlfriend, living life in the world, living period. Now everything she thinks about IS an actual fantasy within the walls of prison. Yes, I'm extremely satisfied with that thought.

My take is that she simply didn't believe that this woman she has just met is telling her such personal information, especially considering the legal ramifications. As soon as she realized that her crazy a$$ neighbor really had poisoned her husband, she immediately gave the family the information, and Lee actually had a fighting chance. Plus I imagine she was a crucial witness. That shows strength and courage, imo.
The arrogance of this woman is astounding. I'm glad she was stupid enough to tell all to the neighbour and think she wouldn't get caught.

What a courageous person, not surprised he pulled through when you see the faith and support for him that he’s surrounded by. What an act of selflessness by his brother, I have a couple of friends one who has given to her twin sister and has no problems at all after 20 plus years, the other a recipient of her brother after childhood problems, had two family transplants she became a nurse and has had a son with her husband and he did not have the gene and was conceived naturally. Hoping anyone going through this will understand how well this can go. Lastly to his beautiful Mum, you were chosen to love your boys the way you have raised them is a credit to you. What a fortunate son to have a father , uncle and grandmother to have around you as you learn to deal with all this trauma. Much aroha, love as we say in New Zealand, kia kaha Lee when you watch the All Blacks do their haka next time they play England know that battle cry is in your heart and soul and you are a warrior. ❤
The defence counsel suggested that Lee's poisoning came from heavy drinking.
I am no toxicologist but I am sure that alcohol poisoning does not cause deafness or blindness. It may cause liver damage, though.

This is heartbreaking!if my husband tries to eat something 30 seconds after midnight on an expiry date I literally will tackle him to the ground and yank food out of his mouth!!!!!!to think that somebody could do this to someone who loves,trusts them,has provided so selflessly for...hell, I'm rarely affected by crime things etc but this is one of the most harrowing cases ever!I trust God blesses this man the rest of his days

@@crazygreenlady7907A tin of meat over twenty years old was found in perfect edible condition some years ago. While I would never eat a can of meat twenty years old, some mayonnaise I use is sometimes a month or two out of date and still tastes well.

What the hell was up with her friend sarah if my friend came 2 me looking 4 hit man with her at chemist she knew what her friend was at should of done something like go 2 police some people are just pure evil like money is the route of all evil

Lee is a lovely man with a beautiful family and friends. Thank the heavens he is surrounded by such caring people which I believe has made a big difference in his continuing recovery. I'm so glad his son gets to grow up with him, his nana and his network of good friends. 😊❤
I don't understand how someone can have such little regard for another humans life, that they are reduced to a dollar amount. So sad. I am praying for Lee, his son and family.

There are just a few times when I hear a case like this and think 'an eye for an eye.' I often think this way when I hear of a case of cruelty to an animal or a child. Whatever the perpetrator did to that child or animal, the same should be done to them. This should just be the start of their sentence.
Kate deserves to have a cup full of antifreeze poured down her throat; be left alone with the wrenching stomach pain for five days; watch while no-one knows how to treat you; go into a coma for 10 weeks; then come out the other side with no ability to hear or see, along with a kidney that needs to be treated for life.
I know it sounds harsh but maybe these sub-humans would think a little more carefully about what they are prepared to do to another.
