    One thing is certain, if it weren't for Austin, aviation simulations for ordinary home users would never be so perfect.
    This requires a person with great knowledge, but also great passion.
    We are very lucky to be able to enjoy X-Plane.

      And for $59.95 US. What a GREAT value, too. All the work that goes into X-plane 12 and Austin still releases it at an affordable price. Thank you, Austin for all your hard work AND making this incredible program affordable for nearly everyone.

    Austin, may I suggest you add a section such as “How things work” with your videos on the X-Plane Home Screen? People will know where X-Plane is different from other sims. I am sure not many other sims simulate fuel temp cool down in their wings, ABS traction in the wheel, etc. These kinds of behind-the-scenes work usually go unnoticed by regular folks or even by experienced pilots. This section will be a great tool in recognizing your hard work and learning experience for so many of us.
    I really loved a quick preview of what 12.0.8 is bringing with a real aircraft in this video. Please continue.

    • @frankbyte
      @frankbyte 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Yeah, other sims are unfortunately still quite behind when talking about the flight-physics, the most important criteria of flightsims according to the last navigraph-survey.

      @@austinmeyer Thanks for the what's new option in the game. I like it. But I still think these videos could have a permanent place in the X-Plane Home Screen with a brand new icon.

      needs to know every aircraft type as well as helicopters etc to actually know where fuel lines are located. or how would the shown concept work on a uh- 60? havn't seen any such draw functions in planemaker. miss this sort of explanation in the video among that groupie noise.

    • @piloto_loco
      @piloto_loco 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@frankbyte just a side info and not challenging your statement, but navigraph surveys represent 1% of the total user number. definetly not a reference. there was a special aricle on this, which was also posted on some community news page. this 1 percent users contain 80 to 90 percent noobies. Still, i fully agree on the importance of flight dynamics, but it won't cover the entire spectrum. one feature without the other is worth nothing. navigraph polls are considered being dumb, better use your own judgement.

Ich liebe die Möglichkeiten, die mir der Plane Maker bietet. Ich finde den Support klasse. Ach ja - ich "fliege" in diesem Sim, so wie ich es in der Realität auch getan habe. Come on Austin, you gotta find a way to make XP look good. That’s all your missing to knock out MSFS. You already have the best flight model/physics, you just need to add that beautiful eye candy clouds and scenery world. Wish you can team up with google or something to do same as MSFS or something just as good

      @@Deploracle eye candy is everything. It’s the reason why MSFS is destroying XP. Eye candy is the first thing that comes with realism since on a screen it’s the closest thing you first get to achieve immersion and realism. Physics come next.

    Current X-Plane is amazing in API and modelling aspects, leaded by talented team.
    I like it! A lot.
    Too bad professional mode-makers mostly underrating this sim now (including PMDG, FSLabs, FenixSimulations, HiFi simulations, FSDT and a few more).
    If we had as sofisticated planes as P3D addons, mmmm… Absolute flightsim bestceller, most realistic one.
    By the way, with a new great weather system, X-Plane 12 misses one vital thing - the default weather DEPICTION system.
    We need new weather and terrain RADARS, Laminar Research! Very much!
    Even if you could make just one oversimplified default, fully manual controlled but volumetric WXR… It would be awesome. This is what happened with your default FMS in early days of X-Plane 10 - modemakers had basic sample and improved it with own mods.
    It would bring absolutely new experience of flying through the hazardous conditions in a diffierent altitude - flightsimers could actually see the volumetric region of space (coordinates and altitude) they shouldnt fly into (like in P3D with Active Sky engine, meanwhile current X-Plane’s precip depiction is flat and never depends of altitude).
    We NEED it so much, guys!
    I cannot imagine full realism of the flight if there’s unreliable precipitation depiction with no radar beam and its reflectivity’s simulation.
    With physics like yours, it absolutely BEATS P3D on all aircrafts if you could do that.
    So please, LR guys.
    In the name of the flight sim community, counting on you❤️‍🔥🙏🏻

    Xplane is my go to sim. I was a MSFS simmer for years. Switched to Xplane maybe 6 years ago and never looked back. Xplane IMHO simulates more fluid flight, I do not feel like I am flying on rails and includes more active working aircraft systems. my 2 cents

    I don't think people give Austin and the team at Laminar, as well as all of the 3rd party development companies the credit they deserve for making such a realistic simulator with so many options for real-world style flight from your chair. I think people, too generally, compared XP and MSFS and say: "well Microsoft is better, it's made by a big company." And not look at the amazing team of skilled individuals with a true passion for flight simulators and desire for realism, just another reason to love X-Plane.

    love the wheel brakeaway delay idea. thought that was already implemented as part of the inertia concept. will try it with the uh-60 helicopter to see whether adding collective is required when leaving parking and to see whether wheeled helis have been considered. seems planemaker is still incomplete, as such key features are being added only now. from my experience helis will need and hopefully see corrections and new features. will list some topics if wanted.

    Thank you, Austin, that was quite the 'learning curve' ! Here's something that you might like: If you want one way for 'fusion' power...think about how you could get 'fusion' by 'super-cooling' two molecules within a miniscule of a fraction of a second, upon collision with each other, within a nano-second - thereby causing the contraction of the two instantly cooling colliding molecules within a LHC section so fast, the two molecules 'meld' together releasing energy - starting - 'fusion' ! Ha ha ha ha !...( think about it...). We Love X-Plane, Austin !! Good luck !! x.

We can talk about YEARS now. Thank you for making me understand the professional approach. I just blame myself for being an everyday amateur simmer. Good pilots don't care these unimportant stuff. XP: A simulator
    Now they both ar amazing, I just hope that devs also come back to XP, you can see big devs completely left XP sitting to the side, Just Flight, PMDG, Aerosoft etc... They all more or less halted development. Also what I've heard version 12.1.0 is going to be a dive into graphics, which will attract many users I think, if done correctly at the get-go.

      @@frankbyte really? They had added charts into the CL650? If no navigraph option then its not top of the league for me. No EFB charts then its VFR only imho. Even VFR navigraph now has vfr and sectionals.

    Have to say, I've grown up around aviation all my life (father is a retired airline pilot). I had never known about how jets cool their oil - that's very interesting! Also, I didn't know about breakaway thrust, but it totally makes sense. This is great video series for explaining those concepts!
    One piece of feedback that got me cringing during the video - so many mentions of "I have...". I get it that Austin is the inventor of this sim, but I'm guessing the team is always growing and would appreciate a "we" approach when announcing updates.

    That's all nice, but let's have a lot more love for visuals because that's also an important part of flight. I'll give you an example. Flying into rain will reduce your visibility, Strobe lights and landing lights shining on clouds as you fly through them can impede your vision and sometimes you have to turn them off so you're not blinded by reflected light. I am sure there are some folks into the whole physics elements and science but let's be honest here, the dynamics you are working on relate to the default aircraft that comes with Xplane but much of it isn't something 3d party devs concentrate on or put a whole load of time into so the "dynamics" of xplane gets undone by none accurate flight models of third party aircraft (Im sure that many here will either be flying Zibo and flight factor aircraft with very few flying the default aircraft)

    Austin - could you use satellite data to drive some of your graphics? Flying the simulator function in Google Earth provides elements of a wonderful experience. Of course, it's a terrible flight sim, but I can fly over my house and see the canoe I had laying out in the front yard last summer. How neat is that?
