You have some plugin or something that is causing this, or are running some plugin that fails the engine if you over-torque it, or something like that.
This is one way to get folks to try to newest beta. LOL. I appreciate this. Living south of Charlotte, we had the balloon pass directly over our home on its way to the beach. The most impressive part of the entire day wasn't the balloon, but the air show by the various military planes that continued until the balloon was popped on the coast. I haven't seen CLT shutdown since 9/11, so it was interesting to see the sky devoid of commercial traffic once more and the contrails and aircraft flying various patterns and altitude. Not much happens around here, so props to China for giving us something to enjoy on a Carolina Blue sky Saturday.

@@XPlaneOfficial My ten year old son did that last year. We could not find a binding that would arm the guns, so I made a lua script that automatically armed them. We did dogfighting around our local airport. It was like being in a James bond movie. I made the guns low power so the planes could take a hit or two without blowing up.
That was fun, funny, exciting, and informative! The keyboard commands were delicious icing on the cake! Wheeeeeee! I think that this was the first time that I've smiled at 6am! Loved it!!! Thanks, Austin!
can you make this for x-plane 11? I do have x-plane 12 however I'm not using it because the add ons I own do NOT work in x-plane 12 and my m1 MacBook gets terrible fps

@@cursivejayhe seems to initially lock up on the target for identification followed by choice of weapon. as that little bracket on the hud and the target symbol on the lower display tells. should be a square though. That bracket is being visualized as coming from radar coordinates but it also tells x-plane found a way to localize and lock up on target objects. operationally you wanna use radar or electro-optics for an initial lock, and not shoot at anything with a sidewinder right away hoping it has a heat signature, right? in my post i was refering to the before-release target acquisition, a functionality we all hope to see in x-plane.
@@piloto_loco You said the missile would miss because there is no radar target locking. That suggested to me you were confusing an infrared guided variant of AIM-9 with a radar-guided variant. Your method of target acquisition is irrelevant, since the missile has its own seeker head that may or may not talk to your targeting radar or pod. Apologies if I misunderstood.
@@cursivejay sorry for the confusion. he locks up the target with radar initially and then claims the aim-9's heatseaker would take over. the hud symbols just don't reflect that switching process, that's all. nothing severe. to give you a better context of my initial post: i mentioned x-plane's missing radar lock capability because it's a long year concern to localize other objects (coordinates) and interact with them. the forums are filled with toold trying to do that job. so i was surprised how austin all of sudden managed things as seen in the video. we all know how missile types work obviously, but to adapt their functionality into x-plane is something i support strongly. thanks for your intervention and sorry again for the confusion. definetly my mistake.
Fun as it is, it's very dissapointing to see this title and the assumptions that it makes. I would have expected X-Plane's author to stay out of political dramas like this.

Nice Feature for some People I guess. Please fix the Performance and start to use Multithreading when Flying in X-Plane and not just when loading the Scenery. It is 2023 and the CPU Utilization is horrible because it is single threaded, as soon as asynchronous loading is done loading the Scenery, Aircraft etc. My Performance in X-Plane 11.55 Vulkan is much better than in the latest X-Plane 12.03R1 Beta. Please please please fix this! As much as I love the new Features in X-Plane 12, Performance Optimizastion should be Number 1 Priority - right after Bug Fixing. I agree that performance isn't where it should be. I have what was a top spec PC when XP12 went into beta (1 gen behind now). For default aircraft and no addons it's fine for one screen, but as soon as you add more screens, a study level commercial aircraft, and a few addons, 1 PC just can't do it. There just isn't enough spare performance on the table to allow you to change it much from default.

This feature is in X-Plane since ages. I only know XP10, XP11 and XP12, but they all had functional weapons for the fighters.

XPlane-12 insane graphical requirements, no way to tone it down and VRAM consumption is insane, Xplane-11 is much more enjoyable.

Give it a try in the sim, the AIM-9M tracks the balloon.
AIM-9M is infrared guided, not radar.
