You are the only one I’ve seen use a drip leg on the gas line. Thank you for being so thorough and professional!
I'd get rid of the union between the generator and the flex line. You already have a union on either side of the flex line. I'd probably eliminate the union on the other side of the flex line as well. The reason to get rid of the first one is that it will see a tremendous amount of vibration, particularly on start up and shut down. Fuel tech's often use unions for appliances, but don't realize how much motion and vibration a generator has when running, unlike a furnace or water heater. At the least, I would do routine gas line checks with a detector and the appropriate liquid.
Is there any particular gas regulator should be used for a 26kw Generac generator?
The sediment trap is supposed to be installed before the regulator, just fyi
Why are you using galvanized pipe supposed to be black pipe for gas
Black iron you still have to paint to avoid rust by code in most states.
Is the tracer wire made from copper or steel?
Copper
What size galvanized pipe did they install? 1”? Thanks
Looks like 3/4”. 1 “ would be too big I would have to assume
Why are you using galvanized pipe
Rust
Thank you!! This video stopped a lot of back and forth this is how no this is how it done. On our first Generac install also so once again thank you very much !!!
I live in Oregon and amerigas came and filled our propane tank but they refuse to come out and hook it up to the generator
I'm doing the same thing good video, have you figured how long the tank will run your generator
My burn rate is 5 to 6 gal. per hour. Over 400 gals. in tank. Days !!!! Thanks for watching !!!!!
Typically a 500 gallon tank gets filled to around 430-450 gallons I didn't catch what size generator he has but i basically have a similar setup and after a couple of extended outages in the past i learned that a full 450 gallons of LP will run a 24 KW Generac roughly 3.5 to at the most 5 days straight days depending on how much of a load you keep on it. Me personally I typically try not to run any of my large 240v appliances other than my heat and air which is a variable speed Trane heat pump system during an outage all food we eat is either take out or nuked.
