Like that’s a surprise! Anytime a white guy can sing, he’s got to be part black. It’s a shame black folks only listened to black music coming up, while us white folks listened to all kinds of music. All you had to do was turn the dial a few spots and you could have been educated in real music of all kinds!!! FACTS…

@@Hippydays1959 Tom definitely has the LOOK of something else in his heritage - besides "white".
I guarantee it (coming from another mixed-blood). 😉

Tom Jones is a Welsh singer who has one of the smoothest powerful voices around. And he was a showman too, in fact he was a big heart-throb with the ladies. He has so many hits such as "Delilah", "It's Not Unusual", "What's New Pussycat?", "Green, Green Grass of Home", "She's a Lady". He covers a lot of genres. He is still performing & is a coach on "The Voice" UK version. He also had a variety show from 69 - 71 & had some of the biggest music stars at the time.

I was ten years old and caught my mom watching him on tv. He had his own show after the nine o'clock news and my mom thought he was the greatest. He married when he was sixteen and became a father of a baby boy three months later. So he never really had the heart ache as he sang about. One great singer tho and still at it. May God bless his soul.

He had a tv variety show here in the states and then would fly to England and do the show there. He was married for 59 years before her death. One of his idols was Wilson Picket. Should watch their duet. He is a judge on the voice in England. He still tours and can belt out a tune.

There is an episode of THE VOICE where Peter Donegon, the son of the man, Lonnie Donegon, who wrote I’LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN auditioned. When he realized who Peter was, Tom invited him to sing the song with him. It was a great performance. Some people claimed it was all a put up job. But in an interview, Peter swore it was unexpected. He said he was terrified all through the song that he would screw up because they did not have anything planned. They even decided on the fly what key to sing in. He just had to follow along and sing when Tom indicated he should. And he had to play the piano because none of his musicians knew the song.

Tom is from my birthplace, Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 in the UK 🇬🇧😊 Wales is the smallest of 4 UK countries. You may know Tom indirectly through the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air and ‘Carlton’s dance’ because the character Carlton dances to Tom’s first hit record from 1965 called It’s Not Unusual! Tom is now 82 and up until 2016 lived in a a Los Angeles mansion which he shared with his wife who was his high school sweetheart (they married aged 16 in 1957)!! Sadly she lost a battle to cancer in 2016 😢 Tom was great friends with Elvis who first met Tom backstage after a show Tom had just done in Vegas and asked Tom “how the hell do you sung like that?!” Tom is also great friends with Stevie Wonder and for a real treat you wanna watch a medley of songs that Tom did with him on his TV Show back in ‘69 when Stevie was but a pup, just 19 yrs old, 4 minutes of TV magic, back in the day Tom’s tv show I believe was recorded & broadcast in the UK and ABC syndicated it to the American tv stations. Tom drew the biggest stars of the time, you gotta check out one of Tom’s heroes Wilson Pickett when he joined Tom in ripping it up with a medley of Barefootin’, Midnight Hour and Hey Jude, it won’t disappoint ya. Aretha Franklin and Little Richard were among his many guest singers too, thankfully many of these magical moments from years long past can be found here on YT! Much love to you and yours bro from a friend across the pond 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧🇺🇸

Sir Tom Jones 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 is a performer, from Wales, UK, very, very popular back decades ago & to present day ( at age 83 in June). He had the females fans going crazy over him, running on stage, throwing dainty under garments on stage at all his performances. Tom had a TV variety show back in the 60’s & had Vegas gigs as well. Present day Sir Tom is a judge on The Voice (UK) and when people come on & sing one of his songs the audience will beg him to get up and perform, which he does. Being from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 he comes from a country that has some of the best voices in the world, especially choirs.

Tom is Welsh (where they are famous for producing great singers). Tom was never trained or had singing lessons he is just gifted. Yeah, you are tripping as he is not mixed. Although he looks like he is and his voice is soulful.
Tom has also sung with many great artists i.e.Wilson Pickett, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles etc etc. But again, Dusty Springfield was classed as the soul sister even although she was white.
I was only 16 and from the UK when he sang this. It was a time of love and speed if you know what I mean. Definitely happy memories. So glad you liked it.

I've been over the moon in love with Sir Tom Jones since the mid 60's! I think his first hit in the states was "It's Not Unusual" in 1965 (I think). He would have been 25 and I was 15! I wanted to see him in concert forever. I finally got to see him when he came to Kansas and my BFF bought tickets to see him for my birthday! It was as spectacular as you can imagine! I wish I could have seen him more times. 😢 But in the meanwhile, from 69-71, Tom had a variety show on TV. He ha all kinds of musical guests on and sang with him. People like Wilson Picket, Janice Joplin, Sonny & Cher, etc. It was a fun show and I doubt there's a woman my age or even 10 yrs younger or older that ever missed his show! Well, unless there was an emergency! 😅😅😅

Tom Jones is Welsh and will be 83? on June 7th 2023. He 's put out 39 albums and still sings today. He was married to his wife Linda for 59? years until she passed from cancer in 2016. He and Linda were parents at the age of 16 he stayed married to her until she passed. I'm not sure, but I think he's still on TV. Is it The Voice that I'm thinking of? I don't know because I don't watch TV. I certainly remember a lot of his songs when I was growing up in the 60's and 70's. I remember a song called, "What's Up Pussycat" and another called "She's a Lady". Both were great! Always loved his voice. In elder vernacular, he was a dish and the ladies loved him!

I always thought of him as the tail end of the crooner era and new pop at the time. Ladies used to throw their panties up on stage to him. Honestly. Women loved Tom! Haha! Tom had his own TV Show. My cousin and her daughter watched it EVERY week. They would make a snack tray, sit, and watch him. Believe me you better not talk, or walk in front of the TV when Tom Jones was on! Tom was the hottest thing going at the time. At his Concerts women would throw panties, and roses on the stage. He had numerous affairs with famous women. He was married throughout his career to his high school sweetheart. She died a few years ago. He's still singing now.

The man had natural soul but was not mixed race. He loved all the early soul singers. He was born in Wales. Looks like Shia LaBeouf?? No way. Tom Jones 100 times more sexy and attractive. Not even close. Didn't you see how suave, classy and full of swagger he was?

Check out “You Can Leave Your Hat On” by Tom Jones. Joe Cocker does an excellent version too.

When I need some cheering up I watch him telling the story of him and Elvis in the shower/ bathroom. It cracks me up every single time 😂
.......Jones added: “I’m thinking, ‘I’m hearing Elvis Presley in the shower now - I’m going nuts here!’ So when I got the soap out of my eyes, he was over the shower door - he was right there, and I said ‘Elvis, I’ll be right there!’ I got out of the shower and I say he’d been to the toilet in my bathroom while I was in the shower. He was wearing a North Beach leather outfit - a lot of us used to - and they weren’t lined, they were just natural leather. So he was standing there, cleaning up and looking in the mirror. So I’m naked, and he’s half naked.”......
