My way into The American Analog Set was with 2023's For Forever, after reading it was their first album in 18 years. For Forever, ended up being one of my favorites of 2023. I just loved the guitar riffs and song grooves. I first saw John from The Digital Gramophone speak about the box sets and I've since streamed the albums, but nothing has yet grabbed me as much as For Forever...which I found in the realm of Yo La Tengo - This Stupid World and Death Cab For Cutie - Asphalt Meadows (Acoustic)l two other albums that were on my personal best of 2023. That said, I too have been monitoring the box and I do see that Amazon Canada currently has New Drifters (White/green split version) for $78.74 CAD 🤔 FWIW, not sure how accurate it is but the Amazon Canada description lists this the source as "analog": Product description "Gathered here are The Fun Of Watching Fireworks, From Our Living Room To Yours, and The Golden Band albums, garnished with period b-sides, outtakes, and demos. Remastered from the "original analog tapes", this early-career spanning 5xLP box includes lyrics, photos, and ephemera from the before times."
Would also love to get Kuti's Boxset 1 and 2 but resigned to the fact that it will never happen! Have 3, 4, 5 & 6. Missed that here was a 7 out so will have to look out for it now. Dear me, you've made another expensive video...🤣
I have now cancelled all my MOFI, Acoustic Sounds, In Groove, etc pre-orders about £6.25k. Last year I spent more than £10k. Now returning to UK 1st presses you can guess why
