Yeah! The new ones (actors)aren't charming nor attractive. Can't take them seriously. Very much like the remake of McGyver.

I loved Magnum as a kid. Mags was always kind of a big kid pulling one over on Higgins

I loved Magnum P.I. so very much as a kid in the 80's. This show helped define a decade, and showed a generation (Generation-X) how to be cool. This was my favorite 80's TV show. Sadly I never got the chance to see this part until now. Thank you.

My daughter deals with ADD and can sometimes overwhelm herself and have a break down / lock up . Tears it can be ugly. I always told her “dont look at the dogs. Focus only on whats in front of you” Dads will use anything to help their girls. Today at 19 years old i had to dust this one off and tell her again and wouldnt you know I find this clip in my feed! Shared it with her. Now she knows Dad isnt original but the phrase still works for her.
For me, that Ferrari is the coolest TV car ever.

Tom Selleck war/ist einfach ein genialer Charakter Schauspieler, bis heute!! . Unerreicht und einmalig. ❣️👋👋👍👍Und vor allem als Jesse Stone auch nur genial!! ☺️

Its a Targa top and is stored behind the seats . Seems he didnt need it lol. But still a great show , one of the best of the eighties .
Watched this every week in the 80's. Damn I'm 53 today where did the time go. My wife was born and raised on Oahu, not too far from where this show was filmed ( Kailua). Sadly the house was demolished .
Most of the outside scenes at "Robin's Nest" were Filmed in Waimanolo. I watched the "Foiled Again" episode being filmed there and got to meet Tom Selleck and John Hillerman, it was really a great day

I loved this show. It was a nice follow up on Hawai'i 50 giving us a look at Hawai'i and it's charm.
I'm shocked he figured out the gate code when he did.

First combo that Magnum tried was 1138. Minor shoutout to George Lucas and his first film. Cheers.
Lucas used a version of this number(Milners license number) in American Graffiti and a stormtroopers call number in Star Wars.
Great show, and the pilot is one of my favorite episodes.

Selleck used to Live up the Street from Me when we were living in Honolulu. He lived at Black Point, our house was down the street on Aukai. Used to drive his Black CJ7 down our street all the time....Memories..
Simply the best show ever because Tom Selleck is the sexiest guy ever on TV. I watched every episode all eight seasons and many more times in reruns.

The best shows back then usually had some sort of story about Vietnam vets. The A-Team was Army, Magnum was Navy. I bet if they got creative, TV execs could come up with shows about former Iraq/Afghaniston vets who do things after service.

There was one episode in season 7 I think that almost deliberately played like a Miami Vice episode and quite effective, too. I think the makers of Magnum were simply trying out new things.

One of a few times the Ferrari was used with the roof on, because Tom Selleck is too tall to be inside the Ferrari, with the roof on and properly drive it, according to the show information. 😀

I think they should have brought back magnum’s friend in the flashback episodes like the one when magnum got married.
That's funny. The roof panel on a Ferrari 308GTS (and for that matter, the 328, 348, 355 and other Ferrari models that have targa tops) do not slide backwards. You have to get out of the car, push the seatbacks forward, and place the panel on the carpeted bulkhead behind the seats. It's as if Magnum had 2 film crew hold it as he drove away... all off-camera, of course.

Certain Actors in person you wouldn't look twice at in person.. However my mother met Tom Selleck in Malibu back in 1990 and she said in person he was stop in your tracks beautiful. She said in person he's far FAR more attractive than television shows him.. He's 6'4 with an excellent body and of course that iconic mustache and Face. ❤
