My father joined the Seabees in 1954 and after tours in Alaska served his first of 3 deployments to Vietnam in Danang in 1965. As an Equipment Operator who advanced to the rank of Chief before retiring in 1975 he told us about flying all over the South Vietnam areas and of a JATO takeoff in a C130 from Hue as the airstrip was under mortar attack. Before the Vietnam duties he was on Guam for a year when my mother joined him and where I was born in 1959. My father was elbow deep in agent Orange mixing and loading it for spraying. We were a happy Seabee family living in Oxnard most of that time. God bless all who served in our Armed Forces and all those families who were a huge part of their lives. Many sad deployment days for us but fortunately all were followed by happy return days! I watched this video very carefully but did not see my Dad in it unfortunately.
