2 to 4 weeks is not that long a period of time. You can reach out if you wish, but I think the most important thing is to take a different approach so she doesn't feel pressure. Ideally, she would reach out to you, but it won't always work like that. In essence, the key thing is to make her feel like you've moved on and no longer need her. Either side can reach out, but the key is to not care. A girl ironically won't get interested again until you're not interested in her anymore, but you seem interesting to her because you some how seem new and interesting to her again. That usually takes more than 2 to 4 weeks and some active social media posting, but yeah, you can try again later. Truth be told, it is usually better just to move on to a healthier option and try not to make the same mistake. Then the old option sometimes returns, but some how seems less important. Some how they know not to come back until you've really moved on.

She replied "thanks for understanding, I think it's for the best right now". After this, I felt like my life was missing something without her. All I can say is that the first 24 to48 hours after the first date are the most important time for you to astablish that not-needy mindset. My recent mistake was, led by the aftermath of just coming out of a long relationship, to jump in too much after the first date. I liked the girl, and very much so...I still like her and that sent im into a panic mode. I started texting her too often too qick after we took our ways and she pulled back. I was texting her, wanting to see eachother again every 2 hours or so, for like 2/3 weeks. Like I said, I was in a panic mode and since I was used to a nonstop communication with my ex, I thought I need to replicate the same here, but I forgot to consider that not every person is the same and not all females are always craving attention psychopaths like my ex was. The more she pulled the more I pushed until I realised I lost the battle. So my ego was hurt. My mind was full of sht, and I blamed her for it. But I took a step back and... realised that actually I have as much fault if not more. I presented myself well, I was funny, she seemed attrackted...and then I morphed into that insecure, clingy BETA due to a lack of control over myself. So fellas PLEASE! After the first date, if it was successfull, just give the obligatory text "I've had a great time, thank you" and just take a step back. Don't text, don't push if not neccessary. Regroup, think about yourself, go out with friends, try to focus on what's on your table, and text her after you feel recharged. Just remember, a good first date doesn't meen a wrap up. It only means that the rules of the game are now changed. If you really want to text her, or she texts you in that period, DO NOT over-engage! Stay polite so she doesn't feel like you lost interest and move one, don't block her out for the time period, but PLEASE! Take atleast 1 or 2 days off of that story and dive into your regular life. That way you'll be able to re-wire your thought process and make it less needy, you will come across as less needy as well. And also have a taste of what it is to give space. Let the stew simmer for 2 days and you'll thank me after that. Trust me, I spent 3 months chasing a lost cause because I was too paniced to regroup and catch my breath.

inherently good advice, but in my opinion 2-4 weeks won't be enough for someone who has nothing going on in their lives, or if procrastination is a major problem. speaking out of experience. it's a long process to shift your paradigm from scarcity to abundance, at least it was for me. maybe it's enough to make the girl come back, but in the long run the neediness will come through again, unless some major mindset changes happend in that time period, which I doubt.

2 to 4 weeks is not that long a period of time. You can reach out if you wish, but I think the most important thing is to take a different approach so she doesn't feel pressure. Ideally, she would reach out to you, but it won't always work like that.
In essence, the key thing is to make her feel like you've moved on and no longer need her. Either side can reach out, but the key is to not care.
A girl ironically won't get interested again until you're not interested in her anymore, but you seem interesting to her because you some how seem new and interesting to her again. That usually takes more than 2 to 4 weeks and some active social media posting, but yeah, you can try again later.
Truth be told, it is usually better just to move on to a healthier option and try not to make the same mistake. Then the old option sometimes returns, but some how seems less important. Some how they know not to come back until you've really moved on.

So we had a good time. I liked her A LOT. She was some years younger than the women I usually date, but much more intelligent and god, so cute. After a few weeks, when her studies returned, she told me she didn't know how this could work out, as she did not see how she had the time for this to develop, because of studies, and because she use a lot of time with her family, and other school related things + work. She took distance from me, and nothing was the same when we were together. When I talked to her about her being distant, she cried and told me that she liked me, but did not see how this could develop due to so little time, bla bla. On one occasion, she told me I probably liked her more, than the other way around. I realized I had showed her way too much attention. I wrote
to her, saying that I understood that she needed the time in her life on studies, family etc, and that I understood that this probably was hard on her, and also that I needed some time away from her, because I had developed feelings for her. She replied "thanks for understanding, I think it's for the best right now". After this, I felt like my life was missing something without her. And the break-up all felt so wrong, because it actually went so good, until I showed more feelings towards her. I really want her back, but I don't know if it's too late. I can't seem to stop thinking about her, and I really don't know what to do.

Exactly the same happened to me. Hot woman are devil creatures. I also was needy these weeks and i cant understand her logic. Great advice. Coming off a 7 year relationship. It was painful but after 2 months it's finally calming down.
All I can say is that the first 24 to48 hours after the first date are the most important time for you to astablish that not-needy mindset.
My recent mistake was, led by the aftermath of just coming out of a long relationship, to jump in too much after the first date.

I have as much fault if not more. I presented myself well, I was funny, she seemed attrackted...and then I morphed into that insecure, clingy BETA due to a lack of control over myself.

After the first date, if it was successfull, just give the obligatory text "I've had a great time, thank you" and just take a step back. Don't text, don't push if not neccessary.
Regroup, think about yourself, go out with friends, try to focus on what's on your table, and text her after you feel recharged.
Just remember, a good first date doesn't meen a wrap up. It only means that the rules of the game are now changed.
If you really want to text her, or she texts you in that period, DO NOT over-engage! Stay polite so she doesn't feel like you lost interest and move one, don't block her out for the time period, but PLEASE! Take atleast 1 or 2 days off of that story and dive into your regular life. That way you'll be able to re-wire your thought process and make it less needy, you will come across as less needy as well. And also have a taste of what it is to give space. Let the stew simmer for 2 days and you'll thank me after that. Trust me, I spent 3 months chasing a lost cause because I was too paniced to regroup and catch my breath.

inherently good advice, but in my opinion 2-4 weeks won't be enough for someone who has nothing going on in their lives, or if procrastination is a major problem. speaking out of experience. it's a long process to shift your paradigm from scarcity to abundance, at least it was for me.
maybe it's enough to make the girl come back, but in the long run the neediness will come through again, unless some major mindset changes happend in that time period, which I doubt.
