    "What earned them a dark reputation amongst their brothers"
    Yeah I think each Legion were at odds with every other Legion on how to wage war...
    ...I mean seems to be a running theme.

      Only in death does duty end

      They are warrior monks, they might end up in some chapel somewhere if they can't fight anymore as a guard I imagine. Then again...they just get bionic limbs and carry on.

      If by retirement you mean a bullet in the head? Then yes.

      Closest thing to retirement is interment in a dreadnought. Course you’ll be asleep for decades at a time but at least the worst of the action is behind you.

    Question : Can a hive fleet enter the eye of terror , and if so how much "chaos" would the forces of chaos have to deal with how many worlds would be consumed I guess I would like to know how far the hive fleet could take themselves and how much damage they could cause

    • @ethanvallance3437
      @ethanvallance3437 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if a hive fleet entered the eye of terror they wouldn’t be controlled by the hive mind anymore and would just start acting like animals.

    • @micheal5973

      Theres a hive fleet thats been bred to go into warp space and fight chaos....... poor papa nurgle pulled out his last hair when it nomed a plague world and just ate every virus papa could throw at it.

      M33f3r Have you read the Horus Heresy novels? The first 5 especially are full of stories of the Traitor Legions before they were, well, Traitors. Also, the big black Horus Heresy books from Forge World have a ton of lore of the Legions from the Great Crusade through the Horus Heresy era. I love that stuff, too- I find the 30K era stories way more interesting than the 40K. The only negative thing about those black books is the price. They’re over $100 US! But I think they’re worth it- the art, lore, everything, is just awesome. Hope I was able to point you in the right direction-

    Suggestion: Can you guys organize more 40 facts videos into your playlists. I've noticed a lot more recent videos aren't in there. I love watching your guys videos and that would make it a lot easier to find the videos/topics I want to watch. Keep up the great work! Thanks

    • @Racistobama
      @Racistobama 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be truly great to see the episode titles re-organized. You've got so many variations: "40 facts on," "40 facts about", sometimes you use "and" while other times its "&", and so on. Yahoo's listing algorithms certainly don't help but bringing some consistency to the titles would probably help with playlists tremendously. With some good search-and-replace tools it might not take all that long, actually.

    The death guard would have been a really strong loyalist chapter if Mortarion wouldnt have f'ed up

    • @andrewjennings236
      @andrewjennings236 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tanith First the problem is Mortarion was never really a loyalist, he hated the emperor far too much.

  • @manuellaslo1282
    @manuellaslo1282 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    it is also worth mentioning that a lot of the astartes from the death guard refused to join chaos and fought against this desition and their primarch. a large amoint of death guard marines were purged from mortarion and those who followed him because they resisted chaos. this happened in ALL traitor legions, but in non other legion was so much resistance against their traitor primarch and brothers than in the death guard.

    • @Euroland07
      @Euroland07 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that’s because they had so many Terrans still in them? Correct me if I’m wrong.

    • @manuellaslo1282
      @manuellaslo1282 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Euroland07
      possibly. Terran Marines were by trend more loyal to the emperor than to their primarch, than those who came later. but am not sure if the death guard had more terrans still in them than others.
      i think a more important reason was the natural hate and despise from mortarion for psychers and chaos in general. the fact that mortarion fell to chaos is very ironic.

    Question: If you we dropped into the 40K universe and you could pick what role you choose to serve in the Imperium (Obviously not ones that are already characters) What would you be? And what weapons and armour would you have and why?

    • @Animefan1803
      @Animefan1803 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably Imperial Guard i mean no normal human brings anything to the table of 40k.

    • @Racistobama
      @Racistobama 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Best option is probably a rogue trader. You have the most independence, wealth and power and you don't have to kill every single xeno on sight. I'd probably carry a concealed inferno pistol if I could score one and dress as modestly as possible. I'd head for space dominated by the Farsight Enclaves and try to join them. If they were open to an alliance we might be able to form an inclusive society whose focus was on fending off any threat, be it warp-based, technological, biological or anything else. We'd unleash the technologists: my Admechs would share all they knew with the rogue tau to create the best possible early warning systems, countermeasures and defenses. With the help of earth caste Farsighters we'd dig deep underground bunkers to protect civilians from planetary assaults. Psykers under my command would be charged with constantly remaining vigilant for any warp influence among the non-tau and defending all citizens from horrors of the warp. Humans in the military would usually be trained in heavy close combat and siege warfare. We would share our knowledge with tau who showed a proficiency for those types of combat. If an enemy managed to gain a foothold on a Farsight colony and was able to resist tau firepower then the Guard would affix bayonets and join the drones in overrunning the invaders. Assuming that our grand union survived and prospered I would build up our space infrastructure to construct small and medium-sized voidships that were based mostly on tau designs but incorporating any Imperium technology that might prove useful. I would start cautiously trading with Imperium worlds that weren't too closely monitored by forces loyal to Terra. From there who knows how things might develop?

    Suggestion: Lore timeline from 2nd edition - 8th. Connecting the timeline. I haven't played since 2nd but still love the lore and asthetics. It's somewhat confusing when all these new armies started popping up. I stopped right as necrons were released. OMS brought me back though, that and dawn of war 1.
