The problem with tests like this (and I've noticed it also when doing other comparisons of the same foods in different countries) is that people keep trying to find the one that is the local one they know and love instead of focusing on which actualy tastes better.
Are they comparing the Canadian version with the powdered cheese packet , to the DELUXE American version with the liquid cheese pouch? That is not a fair comparison. They need to compare the american powdered cheese version.
I saw those commercials saying they had removed artificial colors and flavors and they said no one noticed. I don't eat that stuff often enough to notice a difference, I bet it's still neon orange! There are many possible taste tests to do:old American version vs new American version. New American version (powdered) vs current Canadian version. Spirals vs elbow in the American versions (some commenters are claiming the cheese packet is different in the different shapes of pasta but I am skeptical of that).
lestrange, I'd say most likely the American regular varieties now approach the American Deluxes and the Velveeta's in color intensity (closer to American sliced Singles) than to Cheetos (wildly most intense orange coloring you can find...).
lestrange Yeah comparing the processed cheese paste to the processed cheese powder just isn’t fair! Lol Just to be clear. Do you people think any of this is real cheese?
Can you remake this video without using the Deluxe version of Mac & Cheese? That's a completely different recipe from the original flavor. Therefore, this was not an honest comparison.
My suggestion: They should do the taste test for NON-Americans AND NON-Canadians, for example: Aussies, British and Asians will do the taste test for the two products. By that we will know which one really tastes better. ::)))
Ok this is totally flawed. The U.S. has Kraft Dinner but it's just called Mac n cheese. It's still the small noodles and powered cheese, same recipe. BUT they used Kraft's other Mac n Cheese with the bigger elbow noodles and Cheese Sauce. The two are completely different and therefore are much easier to distinguish the difference. Personally I prefer the cheese sauce, however; I could pick out which one was made with each different packet. I would have liked to see the ACTUAL comparison between the two KD and U.S.'s Kraft Mac n Cheese with the powdered cheese. Therefore if tested they would be almost indistinguishable and there would be no difference.
Perfection my dear(I've been watching too much Reign)!! I said something similar, but you said it a lot better than me!!! why does this comment only have 2 likes, and one of it is mine???
Yeah they're knock of brands of Kraft Mac and cheese. I've sen it at the dollar store. But don't buy anything in a foam/plastic container. I found some broken plastic in mine and the food tasted like plastic as well.
Iknow right. I notice that asap. They didn't use the original American Kraft mac and cheese. But anyways to tell u the truth. .. I hate Kraft mac and cheese! I prefer Velveeta.
I'm Australian and never eaten mac and cheese. It looks too weird :/ Sorry probably going to get a lot of hate for this but Canada is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than America.
Yes Canada is so much better I agree! (I'm Canadian btw lol). Australia is pretty awesome too! I've never been, but I have family there. Absolutely beautiful!
Isn't it cheating that they chose the Deluxe Kraft Mac N Cheese for the American Taste Test, and not the box kind? I don't know, maybe there's hardly a difference between Deluxe and Regular? I had Deluxe once, and just remember thinking it was like a poor imitation Velveeta Mac N Cheese. I eat Kraft Mac N Cheese more (its cheap), but I think Kraft Velveeta is generally better.
+Matt N First off it's not a true comparison. Kraft mac and cheese or KD in the tall box is made with a powdered cheese packet. you add butter and milk to it to make the powdered cheese into cheese. the deluxe box uses a velveeta/ cheese wiz packet that is melted with the heat of the cooked pasta and less milk they arent the same. Also, Velveeta IS Kraft it's the same company and the exact same product just different packaging so that the consumer pays more.
312eastwest I've only had Deluxe once, and my memory isn't the best. I just remember it tasting differently. I want to take a trip up to Canada in the near future (specifically Montreal), but I definitely want to grab some Kraft Dinner and see what the difference is :P
I am American but all I see in the comments is people dissing USA for being prideful and saying they like Mac and cheese over KD. Not be biased or anything but is it really wrong to take pride in something that you grew up with? In USA we eat Mac and cheese we grew up that way that's the dinners we had thats the flavour of home . Just because we didn't like KD and took pride with what we grew up with I see everyone dissing us. Same thing with Canadians they picked and took pride with the dinners they grew up with ,and in the comments I see people comparing the two countries as a whole economically wise, wtf this was about food . Not about why Canada is better than USA or why USA is better than the Canada. Sure not every country is economically good as Canada , but that doesn't mean that , other countries are terrible . Each and EVERY country in the world is beautiful in its own way and EVERY country has its ups and downs but dissing a country as a whole and stereotyping it over something that is so trivial as boxed pasta and cheese is really immature. Grow up people they took pride in what they grew up with is that so wrong?
I recently took a trip to Ontario and made sure to purchase a box of Kraft Dinner. We did a taste test tonight & compared it the American Kraft Mac & Cheese Original (not the deluxe!). I much prefer Kraft Dinner! It's a bit sweeter :D
This is titled wrong! It should be "American *DELUXE* Mac 'N' Cheese Vs. Canadian Kraft Dinner". I see what you did there sneaky Americans!! Even with trying to win by putting it up against the deluxe version we still got two Americans to defect to the KD side. I'd say that means KD is the overall winner even with cheating.
+Shar Banning lmao, deluxe just means its easier to prepare in my opinion. now you have me thinking they should have used regular mac and cheese for the american version! seriously, the cheese powder makes it!
First of all, I didn't see not one Canadian eat the American one. Secondly, BAKED MACARONI & CHEESE southern style, trumps any of those lazy made mac & cheese.
exactly! I noticed that they didn't have the same "versions" of Mac and Cheese. I would probably pick the fancier one too if I had to choose which was better and didn't know.
Is it me or were the Canadian taste testers picking the Canadian one for the purpose of choosing their own vs the taste? It just looked like the American taste testers were picking mainly for the flavor and but didn't seem that way with the Canadian taste testers....... especially when they were saying things like "yes! I picked the right one!"
That's cause you have everything. We don't. So we feel we need to hold on to every little thing we have over you. We could get fucked by your millitary. We get forgotten about in history. We have a crap movie industry compared to you. And we hear all the time how amazing the USA is. So when we can actually beat you guys in something we damn well try to.
mafiacat88 This isn't about nationalism, it's about a non-biased test to see which food was better. The American testers clearly payed more attention to taste rather the hoping they picked the right one. It would have been better to not tell the testers that one bowl was Canadian and one was American, then they would have no bias or placebo effects.
Jacob Lewis Yeah, I know, I think it should have been more fair. I'm just trying to get you to see whey we might have more motivation to tip the scales in our favour. Also sorry about the long response. Internet's been iffy lately, replying to youtube comments was not high on my list when it was up. Sorry about that. Also, off topic, do you know how to change the spellcheck on this thing off of american english? Because getting told I spelled flavour, colour ect. wrong is kind of irritating. Just wondering if you know a fix.
Jacob Lewis They're still bias because they've likely consumed American mac n' cheese, right? So they'll be more likely to favour it. Just get people from other nations to try it instead.
My main issue with this, is the 'take one' they were blatantly tasting which they thought was better. In 'take two' it seemed more like they were purposefully trying to choose the Canadian one rather than the one they preferred.
Is it bad that I couldn't think of anything but her eyeliner and mascara? She's adorable but the mascara and eyeliner made me want to scream for sown reason.
Why are there so many cartoon characters in this comment section we got Eric Cartman being who Eric Cartman would probably normally be, Bobby Hill acting like a normal user, and Courage the Cowardly Dog being a total ass.
I love how a simple comparison of Canadian KD and American Mac and Cheese started all these arguments about how americans are fat and lazy and how Canadians have shitty health care and are always judging the USA, or will never compare to USA.. arguments involving some people who are neither Canadian or american.. WHYY?!?!!? side note: i am a Canadian and i rarely come across people who think of americans as rude or lazy or fat because they are stereotypes, that are true for some people in thee USA, but obviously not all. Also true for some people in all countries.
a lot of people on the internet always use any opportunity to trash america. and Americans will usually defend their country from being slandered, even if it means resorting to the same often juvenile behaviour. It unfortunately became internet "culture" to always incite America vs _____. In our actual lives Americans don't really stereotype Canadians. Most are generally fond of them (even if they believe in a few stereotypes). I know I am. and from what I've heard of my few Canadian friends, the things you guys don't understand about us when we must be the subject of your conversation aren't enough to warrant contempt. Even on the internet we usually remain civil toward one another. People across the ocean, however, because they're so far away from us, don't really know what North Americans are like in their daily lives until they're actually here to see for themselves. So, they judge all of us based on how the media shows us or what our governments do. It is a rather unfair thing to do to generalize us all in such ways. I don't waste my time with people who think their country is superior. No one should. Its best to leave people believing what they want.
America was great until the U.S. started fighting in the Middle East, starting with the Gulf War. That's when Canadians started realizing that Americans weren't as great as we always had thought they were. The fact that the U.S. is STILL at war there is just crazy.
The main difference between Canadian KD and American Kraft Mac & Cheese is that Canadian KD contains actual cheese. "Cheese" or "cheddar cheese" is on the ingredients list, meaning 100% real cheese, dried and powdered, is part of the recipe. American Kraft Mac & Cheese contains cultured milkfat, which qualifies as a "cheese product"... it melts more evenly because it's mostly emulsifiers, so you get a creamier finish, but a lot less cheese flavor.
It's dried pasta and a packet of powdered cheese sauce. Cook pasta al dente, add butter and milk to powder packet. Combine everything. Cheese sauce thickens a bit to coat pasta in cheesiness. Nearly everyone has their own favorite add in to mac n cheese. Mine is freshly ground black pepper and a spoonful of cooked bacon bits. Yum!
Yes we do! It comes in a red box and I'm sure it's Kraft (I might be wrong!) it's just called Cheesy Pasta! you can definitely get it in Asda/tesco/Morrisons and there is a Farmfoods own make which comes in a black box and tastes the exact same! Tesco also sell the actual American one in their "world's food" section but it's like five quid for one box :') x
I just moved to Los Angeles from Canada; yesterday was the first time I tried american Mac N Cheese...I am so sad I didn't bring Kraft Dinner from Canada because it is so much better. Note to self, buy a case and bring it back when you go home for christmas!
i know this is just a mac and cheese video, but beyond this like for real, america gets so much hate on social media and you want to know why? It's because all the media reports on is the terrible things that happen in america, and the bad people. there are TONS of good people here in america, and we're not all obese, we're not all homophobic, racist, sexist, crazy people, extremists, or weirdos. There are a ton of good people in america, and it's really sad that everyone in the other countries hates on us because of something they saw on jerry springer, the news, or some other biased news report. If you want to judge our country, okay. But first, come to a church and shake someone's hand, come to a five guys burgers and fries and be greeted by people who are happy doing what they're doing and try a delicious burger, get in a conversation with someone in a coffee shop, or even just talk to a friendly stranger on the street! there are so many good people in america and anyone who judges us based on something they saw on tv, and has never been here, is seriously ignorant.
***** I wholeheartedly agree with you. I'd thumbs-up your comment a thousand times if I could, because I really wish more non-Americans would understand what you just said. Unfortunately your comment will probably get buried under all the "USA sucks" comments...
I've never been to America, but I'm sure there are lovely people there as you have said. :) Generalizing everyone into one big group is a really stupid thing to do.
I'm an American living in canada, and everyone is ridiculous. All the kids in my class always make fun of America when I still love that country. Canada and America are similiar due to the fact that they can be both beautiful countries, and countries that make mistakes. Then all the Americans make fun of canada. It's a never ending cycle if hate and stupidity.
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO EAT KD WITH KETCHUP AND A FORK, NOT A SPOON. OMG. Also, the american version looks like shriveled up maggots covered with snot. KD is and always will be superior, just like all other Canadian products.
+CANADAWOOOOOOOOO There is no specific way to eat KD. Just shovel the mac and cheese into your mouth. Ketchup is optional and you can eat it with both utensils. You're making Canada look bad.
Derpifyed how was that making Canada look bad? 😂 All he/she said was to add ketchup and use a fork and I agree with them about "mac and cheese" I like KD better
All these people saying, "Canadians were wanting to puck the Canadian... Yada yada..." Think of it like this: They have you listen to a song played on piano by 2 people. One of whom is someone close to you. They ask you to choose which one was played better. Of course you're going to go into it hoping you choose the one your friend or kid or whomever played. Same mindset the Canadian testers went in with. Not hard to understand.
I'm not saying this with a biased opinion, but the Canadians TRIED their best to choose KD, while the Americans were actually choosing the best-tasting one.
yeah that's what I thought too! especially when that one lady said, "Yes! I picked the right one!" like... that's not really the purpose of the video.. it's just what tastes better..
The Canadians purposely chose the one that familiar to them; the Canadian one. You could tell the Americans chose what they actually liked but the Canadians were all "for the sake of Canada"
Maggie Poynter Look, we have like five things you guys don't just steamroll over. To most people we just feel like everyone thinks we are just the colder, more north, worse america with less stuff. Assuming anyone ever even remembers we exist. America is like this black hole of attention (I don't mean in an offensive way or anything, I just mean when people think of north america they don't think of Canada or Mexico or anything attention just slides right on to you). So we try to hold on to every little thing we can that we have over you. Cause this is all we got. We go "we have better THIS! and you go fine, but we have better THIS, THIS , AND THIS!. So when you take one of those things away it sucks. Then all we have is water, cold, and a fuckload of trees.
Yeah, Kraft dinner is all Canadians have. Except for free healthcare, fair drug laws, pay for struggling musicians, A non-racist, pro LGBT leader, far lower crime rates, beautiful nature and scenery, a far more peaceful history, an ability to exist as a country without shitting on every other country in the world and a list of about 50 other things.
King Samurott No I'm implying that your government is inherently racist and Obama is not given enough power to change the societal attitude towards non-white people
I agree that the test should have compared two basic boxes of Mac & Cheese/Kraft Dinner instead of one basic and one deluxe. I've had the deluxe Kraft before and it is a little better. That may be why Americans preferred the deluxe. On the other hand, the favor of the deluxe version may be different to Canadians so they would naturally choose their own brand because that's what they know. Next time, compare similar types.
I really hope they prepared that KD/Mac and Cheese with some butter and some milk, otherwise it's bland whichever one you eat, also good when you chop up hot dogs and boil them with the noodles then drain em then add your butter, milk and cheese powder, mix it up then if you want when it's done, add ketchup, that's the real Canadian way of eating Kraft Dinner.
When I was a kid, my friend and I would argue about whose house we wanted to eat lunch at because, of course, we both felt our respective mothers made the best Kraft Dinner. However, no matter whose house we went to... WE DIDN'T HATE EACH OTHER AFTERWARDS! Seriously TH-cam commenters... have we honestly stooped to a hate-filled flame war based on who produces better boxed convenience pasta?
America Vs Canada Canada Pros: -Free Health Care -Better Political system -Better Economy -Gun control -Non violent country -Loved by every country in the world -Safer country America Pros -Lower priced fast food -?
The only way I can eat Kraft mac and cheese is to add a little extra butter and milk and then add some shredded cheddar cheese to it. I don't use many foods that come from a box, I make most things from scratch, that way I know what I'm getting.
Do you have the Spirals Kraft Diner in the US ????? Cause this is the stuff, much better than the Regular KD. They used to make Egg Noodles KD (the box was brown) that was in the late 70's and 80's, those where even better than the Spirales.
+The420Earthling Yeah we do. I also think they compared the wrong ones here... they used the american deluxe edition (which is worse in my opinion) than just plain old kraft mac n cheese.
Spirals are great and they enhance everything. I like the deluxe but it's just that gooey sauce that's premade in the package. Regular mac n cheese is so similar to kraft dinner it's ridiculous. Possibly a tad saltier. Not sure
Deluxe looks like this - pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/440725/220.jpg Regular looks like this - workingmomadventures.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/original-kraft-macaroni-and-cheese.jpg
This is gross anyway. Who eats "mac and cheese" from a box? A box. With fake cheese..powder stuff? Real mac and cheese is not hard to make, nor is it time consuming. 1. Boil pasta 2. Make cheese sauce (butter, cheese, milk, flour, salt, pepper) 3. Combine 1 and 2. :) then eat it..or if you like it baked..which i recommend, after mixing..put into a dish..add more cheese..and bake it. Quit eating boxed crap. Ugh. That's not cheese...!
Wait.. what? There isn't even real cheese in there?! I was already wondering what type of cheese they were using. How can either of them be/taste as mac and CHEESE, without real cheese.
Actually Jefferson brought back a pasta machine from Italy. His daughter Mary Randolph became the hostess of his house after Jefferson's wife died and she is credited with inventing the dish using macaroni and Parmesan cheese. Later, the Parmesan was replaced with cheddar cheese. Straight from Google and get your facts straight, okay!
Odd experiment Americans = Picked which they thought "tasted better" Canadians = Picked what they thought was "right" My point: Bias however you look at it
The real difference is the amount of butter and milk recommended to be added. On the american one, the amount of butter is ridiculous like 4 tbsp per box and Canadian is 1 tbsp per box
Never mind that it wasn't an equivalent test either, the US version they used was the Deluxe with cheese sauce as opposed to the regular version with powder they sell which is equivalent to KD. And even then it was 4-2 for the American testers...
Tbh if they tested it with someone from a European or Russian country, both of them would lose. People in those countries are disgusted by anything that taste processed especially when it comes to cheese. As someone who grew up in an Italian family, I know this. Both of them would lose because Europeans would think both of them sucked.
In my opinion, what they should have done (even though it may not have been possible) is to get a group of people that has never had Kraft Mac 'n' Cheese or KD to taste test it. Make sure to use the *ORIGINAL* Kraft and KD so it's a fair comparison. This way you'll get an unbiased result and find out what people like. Even though just a handful of people can't define what and what not is most desired, you can estimate what's most desired by finding out the pattern and creating a ratio for the rest of the world. Correct me if I'm wrong. It is late at night and my focus isn't 100% there.
XBOXNationTVHD Hahahahhahaha are you serious?? I live 2 minutes away from the town where James Kraft was born lol. Canadian, buddy!! I'm not patriotic, but please don't think Kraft is American lmfao.
They cheated, deluxe Kraft comes with real cheese but original doesn't. They should do a rematch with Kraft macaroni and cheese (Not deluxe) and Kraft dinner
They are exactly the same... any difference is based on solely on preparation. Although in this video, they used the Deluxe for the American version which is in fact different because the deluxe version uses cheese sauce instead of powder.
***** except Canadian doctors are some of the top and most highly trained in the entire world, Canada has the most up to date medical technology as well. We are paying slightly higher taxes, taxes well spent. Id' rather pay taxes that go to healthcare and maintaining the lives of our citizens than using majority of that tax money on military and being forced to pay absurd amounts for health insurance or even more absurd amounts for visiting a doctor at all. Clearly our system is better, considering we are the 2nd happiest nation on earth and have one of the highest life expectancy's in the world, as well as lower infant mortality rate than the u.s. more immunized people than the u.s., around 7% less obesity rate than the u.s. We even actually spend only 11% of our GDP on healthcare, yet we have better outcomes, while america spends nearly 18% of their GDP on healthcare with far worse outcomes, and that's with nearly $15 billion more of GDP than us. Clearly Canada is doing a far superior job with healthcare than america. sources: hdr.undp.org/en/countries/profiles/CAN hdr.undp.org/en/countries/profiles/USA
***** population has nothing to do with it. UK has it too, they have almost double our population, and they have the universal healthcare that we enjoy. you are just using population as an excuse to get around the fact that Canada is clearly better. Not to mention the stats from the HDI are in relation to the RATE. That means it doesn't matter how large a population is. The HDI was designed to compare countries with their standard of living, they are obviously going to take population into consideration, which they did and used rates instead of straight up numbers. You can't avoid the fact that our system is better.
***** LOL! wrong again! Canada has been independent and self governing since 1867 and later after WWI in 1918 has then taken full control of its foreign affairs. please, the Queen has no power over us whatsoever. Canada also exceeds the u.s. in education, quality of life, GDP growth, happy population, and many more.
Notice what they say. They say they got it right. They were trying to decide which was KD and which was American. They didn't do it based on taste, but rather which country the food belonged to. I call part 2 for this video.
I thought i was the one who noticed that. Lol. Everyone is commenting on how america is better or canada is better and you are like whats with that lady's mascara. XD
OK - so they didn't even make KD right. All the Americans watching this - you need to make KD WITH cut up hot dogs and put about a TBSP of Ketchup mixed in with the finished product in your bowl. Maybe some pepper on that if you're fancy. Another good one is make 1 box of KD - add 1 can of tuna, 1/2 c. kernel corn, add some pepper and some extra grated real cheese. BAM. amazing.
i want to live in canada is that wrong... am i like betraying american because thats how im feeling right now.... but i also want to live in Uk sooo bad.
no nit at all, Canada is actually a better place to live in than the U.S. but if you really want to move to different country go to Sweden because you'll probably have a better lifestyle there (I'm Canadian and I'm saying go to Sweden so this isn't biased)
American vs Canada. That's like saying European vs France. Canada is American. It's North America... They mean US... Like, wth. This is why people make full of "Americans".
UberPlays Mc You just contradicted yourself, m8. North and South America ARE continents. America is not a continent. What you are trying to refer to is known as "The Americas" which is a landmass that depicts of North and South America. Hope that clears things up.
***** There is no continent called America. In the United States we refer to people as "North American" or "South American". France is not called "The United States of Europe" where calling it Europe on its own would make sense and even then Europe , unlike America, is a continent. It is a cultural thing. People need to get over themselves
Tigerparadise In some countries, America is identified as a continent in their education system. I am not really sure why they are separate continents, because it's not like there is a huge plate boundary between North and South...Also, I am not really sure why you have to be so close-minded.
The problem with tests like this (and I've noticed it also when doing other comparisons of the same foods in different countries) is that people keep trying to find the one that is the local one they know and love instead of focusing on which actualy tastes better.
Exactly bad test
They need to get a person not from America or Canada to do the taste test so it is fair.
Ziddell Yala It was fair to begin with they didnt know which was which and if that was the case they need people from all over
***** But what if one of them eats the specific brand a lot and can discern the taste of their favorite brand from the competitor.
Ziddell Yala That is what the people on the second test clearly did so I don't really see their test as even valid
Wait, I had no idea there wasn't kraft dinner in the US...
It's basically the same thing. Just a different name.
Well I had no idea there wasn't Kraft Mac and cheese in Canada
They're the same thing, just a different name.
I wish. I want to try it.
Mikee Flores did you just watch the video?
Lol
Just to be clear. Do you people think any of this is real cheese?
What these Americans don't realize is that mr. Kraft was a Canadian mac and cheese inventor Kraft dinner is our invention in Canada
@@FS02012 Interesting I'm sure, but not sure how it relates to my comment about comparing the powder to the goo pouch.
I would just eat it, idc if it's canadian or american, i'd just eat it.
+Ducky1521 no one eats Kraft for health.. maybe Annie's, though.
Best one is the one you make from scratch, using the cheese you like in a mac & cheese
Ducky1521 why u have to take it that far?
I'd finish both bowls and ask for two more because I didn't have enough to fully make a decision
@@jeremyimm2243 Annie’s is bussin
Can you remake this video without using the Deluxe version of Mac & Cheese? That's a completely different recipe from the original flavor. Therefore, this was not an honest comparison.
Yeah, they should do NON-Canadians and NON-Americans... Also..
Canadians and Americans have bias because they grew up eating it. They need to get Russians to eat it.
Ya, that wasn't fair.. they should've used the deluxe or creamy KD!!
yes
Ed Prins-Stairs yessss
My suggestion: They should do the taste test for NON-Americans AND NON-Canadians, for example: Aussies, British and Asians will do the taste test for the two products. By that we will know which one really tastes better. ::)))
Good idea :)
+Rafael Vicho smart
But Asians have no taste they just work all day.
+MLG MLG I'm Asian and ur mean
Squinkie Lifestyle I'm Canadian and you are a hoser eh.
lmao isn't that cheating, if u use the deluxe mac?
It definitely is.
Spax which one do you like more?
Yarfy Fox I've never had Canadian Kraft Dinner. I may be Canadian, but I was born and raised in the US and still live there.
Ed Prins-Stairs You need to try it and see if you prefer it. Maybe the preference is in your blood.
lol I'm confused. How are you Canadian if you were born and raised in the US and you still live there?
The "national meal of Canada " is actually poutine
GOOLEELAAL .R same
GOOLEELAAL .R ikr
you're absolutely my man bro. poutine for life. especially poutine from quebec
Bot Lester I'm from Ontario never tried Quebec potinue
+me Noob its truly the best
BuzzFeed read this comment, she made an amazing point about the KD and U.S Kraft dinner.
***** The Cheese sauce one isn't even Kraft. Its Velveeta.
It looks too weird :/
Sorry probably going to get a lot of hate for this but Canada is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than America.
Yes Canada is so much better I agree! (I'm Canadian btw lol). Australia is pretty awesome too! I've never been, but I have family there. Absolutely beautiful!
Australia is the best tho (I'm from the U.S.)
Yeah Australia is beautiful and I love living here =)
The only downside is our Prime Minister, he's completely insane.
id love to live in Australia but i like gun rights and its like the shark capital.. thats the only reasons i cannot lol
ChiiXxTohru "downside"
Pun intended?
I have seriously never eaten Kraft dinner without ketchup and hot dogs mixed in it. Seriously try it it's so good.
Oh man. Yes.
CANADAWOOOOOOOOO
Sounds odd, but tastes good :)
nexxusty BC...the best province...with hotdogs? wtffff
YAS I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE
Sour Eggz and you're inferior, hot dogs and KD don't mix.
I eat Kraft Mac N Cheese more (its cheap), but I think Kraft Velveeta is generally better.
totally cheating!
Deluxe is totally Velveeta Mac and Cheese!
312eastwest
I've only had Deluxe once, and my memory isn't the best. I just remember it tasting differently.
I want to take a trip up to Canada in the near future (specifically Montreal), but I definitely want to grab some Kraft Dinner and see what the difference is :P
312eastwest truth
The national food of Canada..... I don't think so I mean I like it and so do my friends but we're not crazy bout it like we are about poutine
Good to know, because I like Canada and would hate to learn that some Mac and Cheese from a box is what everybody there loves. Poutine is cool though.
And Beaver tails!
beaver tails, ketchup chips, kinder eggs, poutine, all dressed chips... and they pick kraft dinner?
"Bout it"
I've asked Americans about poutine, they're clueless about what it is
Kraft Dinner for the win!
I disagree!
lovepinkgirl97 Fucking baguette in your faces bitches FRANCE WINS
All wrong, Vegemite for the win!
Clementine Birkas Yes!
Agreed.
Europeans dont even have these quick mac and cheese options...lifes unfair for us. We live the true struggle.
No, you're not. I'd pick homemade mac n cheese over that processed-in-a-box mac n cheese any day.
We feel for you.
Memoria James
Unless you can't cook.
I'm so bad at cooking that I can't cook even *Easy Mac* right.
Nalen Jay That's unfortunate. Homemade mac n cheese is far superior to the processed versión.
I am so sorry, can I offer you a hug, eh?
+Mıa Kırkland I totally agree with you. If only more people had a mind set more like yours. (:
Because of where i was born i have a false sense of pride . Wow would you say the same if i was from another country?
+Drew Kane Literally everyone excels are hubris. Get out more, seriously.
Preach
Well, wait a minute. They compared the Kraft Dinner to the Deluxe Mac and cheese. That's not the same thing.
I recently took a trip to Ontario and made sure to purchase a box of Kraft Dinner. We did a taste test tonight & compared it the American Kraft Mac & Cheese Original (not the deluxe!). I much prefer Kraft Dinner! It's a bit sweeter :D
Same
I live in Ontario! Props to you, what city did you visit?
+Sean Sousa probably Toronto, or mabye Ottawa but much more likely Toronto
This video makes me uncomfortable because who eats mac and cheese with a spoon...
Yeh they should use knife and fork
I do? But I also use a fork. Just depending what is clean.
People that don't want to spend an hour eating Mac and cheese basically normal people
WHAT. Fork = STABSTAB munchmunchmunch STABSTABSTAB munchmunch. Spoon = swwwwwwwwoiiish plop plop plop plop minimunch wiiiioooooosh plop plop smallermunch
spoon means maximum intake lol
This is titled wrong! It should be "American *DELUXE* Mac 'N' Cheese Vs. Canadian Kraft Dinner". I see what you did there sneaky Americans!! Even with trying to win by putting it up against the deluxe version we still got two Americans to defect to the KD side. I'd say that means KD is the overall winner even with cheating.
Do they even have deluxe KD? Because it either means there isn't, or they just didn't know.
There's deluxe KD in Canada.
+Shar Banning so your saying having DELUXE mac n cheese is cheating?all mac n cheese tastes the same
Deluxe vs deluxe...regular vs. regular!
+Shar Banning
lmao, deluxe just means its easier to prepare in my opinion. now you have me thinking they should have used regular mac and cheese for the american version! seriously, the cheese powder makes it!
I don't know if people realize us canadians are North American...
Haha british beats both canada and usa we got the best food trust me I'm 8 and I know that
Could you be quiet meguca you have a weird name
Okay, kid grow up your not even old enough to be on TH-cam trolololol
Meguca LEAVE ME ALONE DUMMY
britishkid 21 go brush your teeth you dirty brit
Totally cheating. Can't compare Deluxe with regular.
But the best boxed mac 'n cheese in Canada is Presidents Choice White Cheddar (IMHO)
M. Baker hell yeah it is
Yesssss i agree it was really good when they didnt change the recipe back in the day haha
First of all, I didn't see not one Canadian eat the American one. Secondly, BAKED MACARONI & CHEESE southern style, trumps any of those lazy made mac & cheese.
+Anisha Renee um k
+Anisha Renee ..... alright????
+Anisha Renee that's like saying pizza from Italy is better than frozen pizza ... Duh of course it is lol
Since a double negative makes a positive, are you saying you saw Canadians eat macaroni?
tladybug100 A valid point. very interesting.
"It's almost Canadians national food" what the f#ck.. Lol
Yeah that's no joke. I'm canadian and I have at least one box of KD in my pantry all the time
You think that's bad? Our (the British) national dish is chicken tikka masala. Which is Indian.
A lot of hockey events in Canada are sponsored by Kraft. Not a joke at all.
Jacob Lyons Many sporting events are sponsored by McDonald's.
I eat it 3-4 times a week, used to eat it every day.
Wouldn't actual Kraft Mac and Cheese be closer than the "Deluxe" version?
Exactly!!
exactly! I noticed that they didn't have the same "versions" of Mac and Cheese. I would probably pick the fancier one too if I had to choose which was better and didn't know.
ya and i wonder if the other office used the correct american version
I thought that too! It was an unfair test because they didn't even use the original Mac & cheese
I was going to say the same. Point of fact: the "deluxe" one tastes worse than the regular one (it's a lot saltier).
Least we win in general goodness
Am i the only Canadian who doesn't eat KD with ketchup?
No
Ugh kd with ketchup!? Disgusting... The best is with hot dog wieners
+Someone I eat it with a little bit of ketchup
+Someone KD with ketchup and sriracha >
No because I hate ketchup
wanna make your kd better. put in more butter and only put in like a splash of milk
MrBojangles002 How about 5 gallons of milk?
mmm no less milk more butter
MrBojangles002 Ok 5 gallons of butter
there ya go, much butter..., ill show myself out
MrBojangles002 OK then :D
Is it bad that I couldn't think of anything but her eyeliner and mascara? She's adorable but the mascara and eyeliner made me want to scream for sown reason.
Same
i felt the same way. literally her mascara makes me cringe like no other
Alright another example that it is you women who created this taboo not us men we never forced you to wear makeup
***** Whut?
i actually really liked her eyeliner & mascara :) but hey, everyone's different right?^^
Why are there so many cartoon characters in this comment section we got Eric Cartman being who Eric Cartman would probably normally be, Bobby Hill acting like a normal user, and Courage the Cowardly Dog being a total ass.
You forgot nyanyan the cat thinks Tanya is attractive
Oh yeah
Luigi-Luka Because that is the beauty of the internet, my friend.
We also have Willy Wonka, goodmorning, Internet.
I'm Canadian and I love Kraft Dinner! It's so easy to make!
Eh?
a lot of people on the internet always use any opportunity to trash america. and Americans will usually defend their country from being slandered, even if it means resorting to the same often juvenile behaviour.
Canada's health care is not "shitty". It is pretty much the same as america's
But freeeeeee
The main difference between Canadian KD and American Kraft Mac & Cheese is that Canadian KD contains actual cheese. "Cheese" or "cheddar cheese" is on the ingredients list, meaning 100% real cheese, dried and powdered, is part of the recipe. American Kraft Mac & Cheese contains cultured milkfat, which qualifies as a "cheese product"... it melts more evenly because it's mostly emulsifiers, so you get a creamier finish, but a lot less cheese flavor.
So we defiantly don't have this in UK and I'm so confused!! How exactly do you get Macaroni Cheese from a box!?!
-A,x
Stephie K. Some fine bit of culinary. :D
Americans ...
I might have to try some out :p
-A,x
Stephie K. I add hot sauce or ranch seasoning.
I just moved to Los Angeles from Canada; yesterday was the first time I tried american Mac N Cheese...I am so sad I didn't bring Kraft Dinner from Canada because it is so much better. Note to self, buy a case and bring it back when you go home for christmas!
They should have done it with Australians. Bam. Totally unbiased unless they lived in america/canada for a period of time but still.
EY I HAVE YOUR FULL PROFILE PICTURE
i know this is just a mac and cheese video, but beyond this like for real, america gets so much hate on social media and you want to know why?
Skeptical Unicorn ***** I'm Canadian, and I agree with you guys. There are idiots everywhere, unfortunately.
im Canadian too and just shut up just shut up
My grandmother makes mac and cheese with cheez whiz. Needless to say, she isn't a good cook.
I think I threw up in my mouth...
Not all grandmas are great cooks. :P
They make good cookies
And that's awesome
:( Oh...uh. I am so sorry.
That sounds awesome. Spray cheese is so bad yet so good
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO EAT KD WITH KETCHUP AND A FORK, NOT A SPOON.
NO!!!! You eat KD with ketchup and a spoon not with a fork!!!!!!!!! CANADA F YAA
CANADAWOOOOOOOOO Spoons give it a better taste!
YA ADD KETCHUP AND HOW DO YOU EAT IT WITH A SPOON?
Derpifyed how was that making Canada look bad? 😂 All he/she said was to add ketchup and use a fork and I agree with them about "mac and cheese" I like KD better
You used a totally different flavor! They sell the same one as KD here too!
***** yeah the deluxe one is great, but this isn't a fair game lol
you did it wrong. you didn't put ketchup on it.
Exactly my thoughts
Nasty ass
YASSSS
Agreed, they should've had ketchup on it
***** It's delicous
All these people saying, "Canadians were wanting to puck the Canadian... Yada yada..."
Think of it like this: They have you listen to a song played on piano by 2 people. One of whom is someone close to you. They ask you to choose which one was played better. Of course you're going to go into it hoping you choose the one your friend or kid or whomever played. Same mindset the Canadian testers went in with. Not hard to understand.
Pick*
I'm not saying this with a biased opinion, but the Canadians TRIED their best to choose KD, while the Americans were actually choosing the best-tasting one.
IKR P.S We have the same name
+Kim Bui Nameseption
yeah that's what I thought too! especially when that one lady said, "Yes! I picked the right one!" like... that's not really the purpose of the video.. it's just what tastes better..
+kim bui But that`s irrelevant, since it`s a blind taste test.
+kim bui Americans just can't let stuff go...
The Canadians purposely chose the one that familiar to them; the Canadian one. You could tell the Americans chose what they actually liked but the Canadians were all "for the sake of Canada"
Yeah, that's what it seemed like to me too.
For the true north strong and free!!!!
So the Canadians were more patriotic? Weird....
Obviously not a bad thing they're patriotic, but you can't give a proper review if you're going to biased.
How can you forget Maple Syrup?
>Implying Obama is racist
Wut
King Samurott No I'm implying that your government is inherently racist and Obama is not given enough power to change the societal attitude towards non-white people
Rosie J "A non-racist, pro LGBT leader" no, you are saying Obama is racist
Can't be racist if you hate or strongly dislike everyone equally.
Wow your useing two differnt kinds of mac and chesse your useing the gross our fancy mac and cheese instead of the same box version as kraft dinner
I was literally going to type the exact same thing.
commented the same thing! It is gross isn't it?
yes, mac & cheese is disgusting! If you're eaing mac & cheese for any other reason than being flat broke, there's something wrong with you!!
Next time, compare similar types.
badmonkey91 You're an inferior non mac and cheese peasant; excluded from the pro mac and cheese master race.
I'm not that person but..
Canada votes:6
America votes:4
LOL
+Idk & idc LOL
You are that person.
What's wrong with her eyeliner game?
Oh god, and I just saw her mascara more clearly towards the end of the video. OH god.
KC Elle screw the makeup... it looks like her nose is a separate piece. Like it's interchangeable or something
Shh...
She's Canadian!
I think she looks pretty.
damn, calm down on the judgement
Is it just my PC or is that girl's eyeliner really fucked up? I honestly can't tell...
it's actually messed up😂
it disturbed me ;;
Yeah!
not even Canadian but CANADA ALL THE WAY
I really hope they prepared that KD/Mac and Cheese with some butter and some milk, otherwise it's bland whichever one you eat, also good when you chop up hot dogs and boil them with the noodles then drain em then add your butter, milk and cheese powder, mix it up then if you want when it's done, add ketchup, that's the real Canadian way of eating Kraft Dinner.
Emily Elizabeth Agreed!
The thing about this is that the Canadians were trying to pick the Canadian KD. While the americans picked what they liked better..
Ruby Doomsday are you new...?
Basically the lesson is that what you ate growing up will most likely be the one you'll enjoy more.
America Vs Canada
Canada Pros:
-Free Health Care
-Better Political system
-Better Economy
-Gun control
-Non violent country
-Loved by every country in the world
-Safer country
America Pros
-Lower priced fast food
-?
Nhlpro14 You forgot the American pro where we have the military to take over your country if wanted xD.
I'm sure 3 trillion in debt really helps you take over countries
***** nobody like you
***** you got the south, and i agree with the quebec statement
Nhlpro14 You forgot to put "rides on Americas jock" under Canada
Kraft Mac and cheese DELUXE vs regular Krsft Dinner. yup, that's fair
I dare any Canadian to ask a American if they have ever ate a beaver tail
Liz_wood _ omg, they are the best!!!
That sounds disgusting.
Those are so good
its not a real beaver tail you moron. you kids actually have the world's answers at your fingertips, yet choose to be ignorant.
I also think they compared the wrong ones here... they used the american deluxe edition (which is worse in my opinion) than just plain old kraft mac n cheese.
gregory06 cool, and what do you think about them? you like or don't like?
Spirals are great and they enhance everything. I like the deluxe but it's just that gooey sauce that's premade in the package. Regular mac n cheese is so similar to kraft dinner it's ridiculous. Possibly a tad saltier. Not sure
gregory06 Never tried the deluxe you're talking about, i'll look for it just to see if we have that here.
Deluxe looks like this - pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/440725/220.jpg
Regular looks like this - workingmomadventures.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/original-kraft-macaroni-and-cheese.jpg
we got poutine, and the most donut shops and yet we have a lower obesity rate than the states, not that it's low, it's just lower than the states
that's deluxe Kraft... totes different
Did you melt it with butter and put some milk in after it's done? IF YOU DIDN'T, then they're missing out on a lot
Kraft Dinner with hot dogs is the bomb.
You dont get it, do you?
I agree! But sometimes I crave Kraft(:
I prefer KD, but I also love real Mac and cheese but the real cheese upsets my stomach 😂
Wait you put flour in your cheese sause?
Obviously Kraft Dinner is better, we invented mac n' cheese.
There's no way you're not joking
Actually Jefferson brought back a pasta machine from Italy. His daughter Mary Randolph became the hostess of his house after Jefferson's wife died and she is credited with inventing the dish using macaroni and Parmesan cheese. Later, the Parmesan was replaced with cheddar cheese. Straight from Google and get your facts straight, okay!
TheComedian928 It's actually a British thing.
The Kraft Dinner
I didn't know there's a difference... Kraft Dinner is great
everyone is freaking out that america used deluxe Mac and cheese
Chris Simpson its literally macaroni
They should have used deluxe KD as well then.
They are totally different from one another, but deluxe is way better in my opinion.
U mean buzzfeed not america
Alex Illingworth yes it does, and did 2 years ago when you made this post
Odd experiment
Americans = Picked which they thought "tasted better"
Canadians = Picked what they thought was "right"
My point: Bias however you look at it
The real difference is the amount of butter and milk recommended to be added. On the american one, the amount of butter is ridiculous like 4 tbsp per box and Canadian is 1 tbsp per box
The American one in this video doesn't use powdered cheese
To make it fair, they needed to get neither american's nor canadians to test it. That way they have never tried either before!
The Americans actually picked which one they liked better Canadians were just trying to choose the Canadian one.😒
They need to try the presidents choice white cheddar mac and cheese...
YESSSSSS the sharp cheddar too :)
Not a fan of white cheddar to be honest, but I can attest to the PC Extra Creamy as being much better than KD, and usually much cheaper.
Either way America wins, because Kraft is american
American biased
Either way America loses since your so called "KD" was called back in stores for a full refund due to lead poisoning.
Kraft is actually a Canadian company... So...
XBOXNationTVHD Hahahahhahaha are you serious?? I live 2 minutes away from the town where James Kraft was born lol. Canadian, buddy!! I'm not patriotic, but please don't think Kraft is American lmfao.
***** Yes?? lol
They cheated, deluxe Kraft comes with real cheese but original doesn't. They should do a rematch with Kraft macaroni and cheese (Not deluxe) and Kraft dinner
Canada is better, American food makes me sick lmao how y'all live down there
I have to live in America it sucks a lot
like you up there
Jeez it's not that bad
***** your grammar sucks
+Kawaii Kitten L
They are exactly the same... any difference is based on solely on preparation. Although in this video, they used the Deluxe for the American version which is in fact different because the deluxe version uses cheese sauce instead of powder.
Wait KD isn't in America?
Sucks.
Wait Kraft Mac and Cheese isn't in Canada?
Sucks. :/
Guys its just mac and cheese chill
lovepinkgirl97 No it's processed shit... They're lucky.
It's just mac and cheese how different could they taste since they're both in a box. Rather take homemade any day.
Actually, Kevin durant is in America...
Mac and cheese was created by an American founding father (I think it was Jefferson). So the Americans did it right.
Mac and Cheese originated in the UK i think.
It came from the UK but Thomas Jefferson did bring it to the US well before Canada was even a country
America > Canada
Canada > america

***** no, their healthcare is awful, if you need treatment, you may have to wait a week before you get it, no matter how bad your condition is.
1:39 that dude just loves any macaroni and cheese😂😂😂
Notice what they say. They say they got it right. They were trying to decide which was KD and which was American. They didn't do it based on taste, but rather which country the food belonged to. I call part 2 for this video.
Mexicans to break the tie!!!!
Mexicans would go with Kraft Mac and Cheese because we have more of us Mexicans in the US, then in Canada.
Mexicans would have: "Golden Arches"
Kraft Mac and taco
Americas looks disgusting on the box
IKR!!
They look the same
What do you mean
+Asuna Miku sorry
That's what I thought
Definition of Buzzfeed: Canada vs. America
That's not standard kraft Mac "N" Cheese. It's Deluxe
What's up with that lady's mascara...
I thought i was the one who noticed that. Lol. Everyone is commenting on how america is better or canada is better and you are like whats with that lady's mascara. XD
Lol im eating Kraft Dinner right now in Canada. Lol
BAM. amazing.
Will never ruin my KD by adding ketchup. Rarely (if ever) hot dogs either; ground beef and some extra real cheese added to it, yes.
They compared two different kinds.. This is a bit of a lie.
i want to live in canada is that wrong... am i like betraying american because thats how im feeling right now.... but i also want to live in Uk sooo bad.
No way come to canada! Break your leg health care is free up in here
lol nice
is it really, it seems like a nice place i did research on it... but i do know the food there tastes different soo idk about that
i bet.. idk why people don't like america so much, but hey im used to eating it so its fine
no nit at all, Canada is actually a better place to live in than the U.S. but if you really want to move to different country go to Sweden because you'll probably have a better lifestyle there (I'm Canadian and I'm saying go to Sweden so this isn't biased)
American vs Canada. That's like saying European vs France. Canada is American. It's North America... They mean US... Like, wth. This is why people make full of "Americans".
America isn't a continent. "American" is a demonym given to the residents of the U.S, and has been like that for decades.
UberPlays Mc You just contradicted yourself, m8. North and South America ARE continents. America is not a continent. What you are trying to refer to is known as "The Americas" which is a landmass that depicts of North and South America. Hope that clears things up.
But what if Americans are Canadians :0
*****
There is no continent called America.
I am not really sure why they are separate continents, because it's not like there is a huge plate boundary between North and South...Also, I am not really sure why you have to be so close-minded.
typical Canadian saying sorry over mac nd cheese hahah
Make a vid on weird comments

Hell yeah that will be awesome
