Oh my god, I'm so glad she had a mostly positive experience and that she wasn't harassed into oblivion.
That’s one of my biggest fears of I ever became an internet celebrity.
I think she was lucky - it seems most people understood the source material was a girl goofing around and didn't make fun of her for it. They used it to make more goofing around entertainment. There are a lot of instances where that's not the case and the internet is very cruel to the person.
Times were different then. It’s ever since TikTok changed from a dancing and lip syncing app to a tea app that things changed
Of all the “meme people” Laina was always my favorite. Glad she’s doing great.

She’s self-empowered and so wise for her age. Truly happy for her to look back thru the ups and downs and conclude that she glad it happened the way it did. You’re right, the fact that it was her choice rather than a boyfriend or girlfriend’s, someone else, makes all the difference.

Her message about mental health struggles is very important. We need to take care of ourselves, and if something is not bringing us joy, we should ask ourselves why and try to look inward and work on bettering us every day.
