    ...And along the top of the unit (along the same side where the output jack and ac/dc power adapter plugs in) and also along its right side, if you have some kobiconn 3.5mm minijacks, you can solder the jacks right to the PCB underneath it’s ‘patch bay’, to upgrade the pin header patch row for legit plug ins for proper patch cables. This disposes of the need for destructive surgery to be done on patch cables. There’s also an upgrade kit to integrate proper minijack sockets, I think it’s called the Moog Werkstatt CV upgrade kit, retails for probably 30 ‘quid’ as you say in that there ‘Olde World’ of yours. It seems to accommodate the jacks comfortably inside the chassis on the side walls, although it’s a tight fit. I used a hand drill and put the holes for the inlets as low as they could go while still fitting, being careful about any exposed leads since it’s a cramped space once you’ve added wiring. I’m definitely happy about modding that part, though maybe a breakout box would be an easier solution and would leave much more empty space for any other mods you might decide on in the future. Thanks for demonstrating a few patching ideas, I always like to study the points people patch from/to, because everybody is unique, and with this stuff we like to expose what’s surprised us. My favorite is KeyBoard_out/LFO_in, LFO_out/VCO_in, to get dual oscillator action going. THANKS AGAIN!:)

    I have a Moog Minitaur and I can see this perhaps as an extra OSC with independent controls to wack into the Minitaur via it`s Audio in

    and how diff is it , to mother32 now sound wise ?? or too damn close maybe ?

      +ArtyoneT Hey there, you can use CV gate to sync to interface with other synths, drum machines or whatever. Also you can use the patch bay to experiment with syncing the LFO and VCO to other synths too. Check out this fella's video to see what's possible - th-cam.com/video/t20Gd8S2JPQ/w-d-xo.html

    • @guitarguitaruk

      +I967 No, I'd say the werkstatt is significantly less "crusty" sounding, seems to have a clearer signal path perhaps.

    • @jimmy_jamesjams_a_lot4171
      @jimmy_jamesjams_a_lot4171 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      gvp999999 Yes indeed, there’s the same EG/VCA switch select in the upper right corner just as on the Mother32. Bypasses the envelope and just drones the tone, and then shifts to the next keyed note, applying glide value.

    • @guitarguitaruk
      @guitarguitaruk  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not straight out of the box, no. An additional part from Moog can expand it to be controlled by CV. MIDI is possible, if you're technically minded, but requires a bit of work!

      For a few $ extra you can buy an Minitaur an actual good moog

    • @ronnieperez7650
      @ronnieperez7650 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      michaelbryczysz I have to agree, as much as I think this thing is really cool, the price is steep. Though I'd have to admit that if you paired 3 of these up... which is the price of a subphatty, you get a ton of sonic potential. Linking 3 of these and going nuts.
      Still, it's a bit broken with those tiny, ungrounded cables that you can't easily interface with anything else.
      If you're sick of your standard consumer synth and want to really get down and dirty, making your own cables and your own sequencer, etc. you could really make good use of this.
      IMHO, all synths should have the DIY potential, with mod points like the Volcas have.

    • @Goth108
      @Goth108 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, I own the Werkstatt now, and trust me: the Microbrute and the Bassstation 2 suck balls against this! First time in a while that I feel I'm not going to return or resell a new synth. The Microbrute sounds always metallic and the Bs 2 just flat. Just use your ears man... The Minitaur is cool and all, but does only do bass sounds and isn't patchable.

    • @bloodyhell6378
      @bloodyhell6378 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Goth108 You must got tin in your ears then because the MB sounds pretty darn fat to me (for a single vco synth), the only time it sounds metal is with the metalizer up, and I really dig shredding like that, with a touch of brute factor of course. Even better with my Microzwerg chained to it.
