- A&Z #938 - Randy Santel "Atlas" and @natefiggs each vs the $250 Monster Tomahawk Wagyu Steak Challenge at The Wagyu Bar, also hosted in conjunction with Meat N' Bone, both on Coral Way in Miami, Florida. Katina and I decided to kick off our 2021 food challenge touring in Florida, and our February Florida Tour turned into a February & March Florida Tour!! I attempted lots of food challenges all over the state of Florida. For challenge #19, we traveled to The Wagyu Bar located on Coral Way in Miami, Florida so that my friend Nathan Figueroa and I could kick off their new $250 Monster Tomahawk Wagyu Steak Challenge which also features a 3lb Wagyu Picanha Steak, both provided by Meat N' Bone just a few doors down on Coral Way, under the same ownership. We each had 1 hour to feast on a 3.5lb monster-sized Tomahawk Wagyu Steak and a 3lb Wagyu Picanha Steak, served with sides of Creamed Spinach and Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese. We were each trying to win our $250 steak dinners free plus sweet t-shirts and the first two spots on The Wagyu Bar's Wall of Fame. BIG thanks to everyone with The Wagyu Bar and Meat N' Bone for the amazing food, drinks, and hospitality!! Thanks to everyone who came up to watch and meet us that afternoon!! The Wagyu Bar's Meat N' Bone Monster Tomahawk Wagyu Steak Challenge in Miami, FL ($250):
- The Wagyu Bar has been serving the Miami, Florida area on Coral Way for a few years now.
- It is a few doors down from Meat N' Bone, under the same ownership, which sells (online) over 350 different cuts of steak and other premium meats, nationwide, hand-delivered to your door.
- For this challenge, there is a 3-3.5lb Monster-sized Tomahawk Wagyu Steak and a 3lb Picanha Wagyu Steak, both served with sides of Creamed Spinach and Smoked Bacon Macaroni & Cheese.
- There is a 1 hour time limit to finish, and you'll want to use a lot of that time to enjoy the food!!
- Winners receive the $250 steak dinner free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on their Wall of Fame.

@@rexlint2520 I eat my steaks medium rare and even that was to undercooked for me. I bet it was still cold on the inside. I like a warm red center. You have to cook it on the low fire side for 7mins on each side. Then flame kiss it for 1 to 2 mins on each side then pull it off. It’ll be red or pink on the inside but it’ll be cooked and it’ll be hot all the way through. That was just disgusting in my opinion. That shyt was still raw and jelly like on the inside. That is not a properly cooked rare steak. He might as well just eaten it out of the pack. Steak is my specialty, I have a family of 10, and when we get together and do steak night at my parents house I grill 10 steaks and my family are addicted to my steaks.

No steak fanatic eats anything above medium rare, but yeah that was a rare steak
When you cook a steak that big the internal temp can reach 135 with less color change. Wagyu also has a naturally deeper red color.
I'm not trying to assault you commentors...but you're wrong. Steak temps arent a color, they're a temperature. I was a server at one of 2 4 star 4 diamond steakhouses in the country at one point. Chains and local restaurants severely skewed what the average person thought steak temps looked like. Medrare looks significantly more rare than what they have led you to believe. If you dont believe me, use a thermometer at home and see for yourself.

Wagyu(和牛) means 和 (wa) - japan/japanese 牛(gyu) = beef/cow. I think the 'black cow' reference you're thinking of is a breed of wagyu. 黒毛和種, which is 'Kuroge Washu', literally 'black hair breed'

That steak looks amazing! But it's definitely not medium rare, it's rare. If rare steak isn't cooked properly and is not cut correctly it can be tough and chewy.
