Nice to see the side by side comparison of a smaller gen and a big one. I went with the Genmax5500 and it’s charging a percent a minute or more at a very reasonable volume. Glad I went that route vs a small one that struggles a bit.
As an FYI it not very accurate to be charging at different percentages of charge due to the way Lithium Chargers. Lithium, when they are at a low SOC will accept a charge much faster with the last 10 % taking longest. Think of it as the Ions going into a parking lot, as they look for places and the parking lot become filled up it takes longer to find a place for the ions to park.
This is like the new YZ400. Going to change everything. I love gas bikes, but this thing is awesome. I don't get the hate, at all. The power and having it be quiet with traction control and almost no maintenance, I'm in. I ride a yz250x two stroke....
Hello, does your varg light up blue when it won't charge? My varg lights up blue when connected to the charger but never charges. The charger light is on but the fan doesn't work. Now the bike only has 6% left and I don't know what to do. I've been trying for two days.
Just curious but is the testing off cause one bike is charged higher then the other at start? I thought lithium batteries charge fast @ low % and start to get slower the higher %
Hey. Thanks for the great video. At what altitude are you at? I have a 2300watt ant it does not seem to charge my Varg up at 5280’ elevation. Surges and can’t gain a %. Thanks, Larry.
On a predator 3500 does it make any difference in charging with large 3 prong 30 amp vs standard 3 prong 20 amp receptacles? Just got my bike with Stark’s 110 adapter. I think the predator will be adequate for track charging/ topping up between practice motos.
Thanks, I agree but my main goal for all of this was real world at the track use. I doubt many people are going to realistically wait that whole half hour to get their bike from 90% to 100
@@ShanePinney there is a wiring diagram to make the same adapter alta used. I did this and it works perfect. The bridged 220 adapter was the problem. The charger is a L14 30A plug but doesn’t use the bridged connector. It’s wired ground neutral and power only. Electric dirt riders forum is a great spot to be if you have or want one of these bikes….OG alta owners who are so ahead of the times and help across the board on all these e bikes.
Check your 220V Cord Caps ...Stark did not cut off enough insulation off the wires...Charging mine on the Genny at 241 Volts...about 1% per minute... last 20% may take longer.
Makes a lot of sense… bring a gas powerd 300 lb generator….you know I heard Dylan Molvaney apparently rides stark… Its all coming together now… he’s not a girl and this is not a real motorcycle…
So,4 hours of running a gas generator so you can "save the planet" and ride your ebike for less than half that time. Gee,lets get rid of the track noise and bring it to the parking/pit area. 🖕
Man this is a great video! I ordered my SV this weekend, and now I'm on the market for an inverted generator, this was a great video for perspective!

Thank you! We went with the 6000 mainly because it was the same weight but also $300 cheaper
Last 30 seconds were the best 😂
She had to cut the video there lol

I hate most analogies when it comes to electricity and electronics but your parking lot analogy was great!

Aside from the warranty battery I had to do, we haven’t had to do much more than lube the chain and plug them in

Have you taken apart the charger cable and made sure the connections are okay? If you’re charging on 110v some people have had issues with that before
Just curious but is the testing off cause one bike is charged higher then the other at start? I thought lithium batteries charge fast @ low % and start to get slower the higher %
We have a time lapse video that is a bit better. They don’t slow down on charging until around 90%

If i charge with the ryoby in 240 is posible ?? And what will be tha charging faster ?? Thanks
It is not possible without other equipment. The ryobi is already charging as fast as possible

The 110 charging should pull around 14amps at full speed. So there shouldn’t be any major issues
You need to listen to Elons analogy of charging a battery, it takes alot longer for a lithium battery to charge its last 20% than its first 80%.
Thanks, I agree but my main goal for all of this was real world at the track use. I doubt many people are going to realistically wait that whole half hour to get their bike from 90% to 100
Hi Shane, thanks for video, pretty informative. Do you know if invertor generator is mandatory to charge the Varg ??
It is strongly recommended for charging due to the pure sign wave. I don’t know what the consequences would be but i would not risk it on my bikes
@@ShanePinney thanks !
I’d never go anywhere else than an inverter gen
Is that the stark adapter? I can’t charge mine cause the adapter I have doesn’t work. Badass bike just sitting dead. Sweet.
I’ve heard of some people having issues with adapters. Common issue seems to be on the wiring either going to the charger or the 220v head.

Did I see a Mako360? Do you have a product number or do you know a KTM model equivalent to look at that matches the Varg mounting locations?
I don’t have the model number, but the ktm bar clamps that have the rubber cones transfer over. XC gear sells the metal cones to replace them
These dont plug into the wall? Need an RV outlet to charge this ??

I heard there were some issues. Don’t see any issues on our side.
good wind noise dampener is a Movo brand wind sock - fur looking type
Thank you! I’ll have to give it a try
Nice. How do you like your EE full wrap handguards? I'm a Cycra guy but heard that they don't fit so I was going to go with the EE ones you have.
I really like them, they take a beating well, they don’t fit perfectly on the stock bars
How come your fork caps are blue?
We have different inner cartridges in them. Hers are from her sherco
Dang bro has a mako on an electric bike to fight them vibrations the engine causes😅
Brappping noises intensifies
Wish they made a street legal Varg.
Granted

Thanks so much! I’m happy that you think I can single handily move a 300 pound generator in and out of my van
These bikes require an expensive gas tank to take with you.😂
Even worse if it’s the $6k battery!
I hate to admit it but it's worth it. Try one out and you'll understand.
That's about as logical as a bag of hammers.
Discount hammers!

Feels like you’re taking your insecurities out on me. Feel free to tell me more. I’ll listen.
Nobody is riding these because they want to save the plannet lmao, they’re just more fun than a regular bike it’s pretty simple
IS STUPID CHARGE E BIKE WITH FUEL GENERATOR
The point of the bike is superior performance over a gas combustion engine. At best, it’s just ironic it’s charged by a gas motor.
