    That’s awesome man congrats. I also got approved pretty quickly in San Francisco. I applied last Friday, got pre approved on Saturday and passed my interview on Monday this week. I was told I’ll receive the card in a couple weeks or less. Now is the time to do it before everything reopens

    Last week Feb 2024 I got conditionally approved, after applying on Jan 2023. I guess I can say I was not one of the lucky ones 😭 who got approved quickly. My aunt, my brother, and some of my travel friends got approved within days and were confused as to why my mother and I took forever. The trusted traveler website said that it was normal and that for some family members it may take longer. My mother and I have our interview for April on the same day/location. I’m excited and anxious, as we are going to DR in the summer and I’m glad this worked out. Thank you for the tips!!!

I have a trip to Newark sooner at the end of September and on the site it says no appointments were needed, so I will stop by the office in Newark terminal B to see if I can get the interview done there while in the area. Wow, that's crazy fast!
    How risky do you think the fingerprint scanning is as a privacy concern? I mostly figure that your face is technically riskier, since the government can track you with your face on cameras anyway, and they already have your face from driver's license and passport. So in theory fingerprints are just another version of that, but actually safer, and worrying about that is actually just being emotional about it. What do you think? Do you think there are any other risks by doing the program?

    • @Stezworld

    • @Green0Photon
      @Green0Photon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Stezworld Yeah, that's basically my thoughts. Everything is all in a database anyway, including all the info you need to give for a background check. So confirming all of that in an interview doesn't hurt anything. My only thought was maybe the fingerprints, and as I said, I figure that's me being too paranoid.

      At the end of the day, they already know a ton about us, and you have to get your picture taken going through customs back into the U.S as it is. The background check stuff is info already available. The only thing I would say is fingerprints, but oh well. If it honeslty gets to the point of it being that corrupt where they are tracking joe schmo down for his finger prints, we are all screwed anyway

    • @HF-rc1tr
      @HF-rc1tr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kittynyc27 oh goddd you're one of those. Do you have a job? They require fingerprints. The country has some sort of biometrics of you in their system so deal with it. You have a smartphone that you give permission to for all your apps such as location, contacts, etc. This is no different.

      Not 100% sure. I know the program is available for certain citizens of other countries outside the USA and are not residents of the USA who qualify for this program. I know from top of my head the Argentinians, Colombians citizens can get into this program.

    • @ganymedes62
      @ganymedes62 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's actually a list on the application website with the countries that citizens can apply from. If your country is not on the list, then you can't apply. If it is on the list, then click on it and you will see what you have to do before applying. I applied a week and a half ago (I'm Dutch), gave permission to the local authorities to do the background check, and I'm now waiting for the 'conditional approval' email. I hope I'll get it before November 9th when I have my next trip to the US, so I can do the 'interview upon arrival' in Atlanta.
