If only I could see a video like yours specifically for us Indians while I was applying, it would have been so much smoother. I just got mine today and the whole process took 6 months for me. Also if you are not a citizen or PR holder, you don’t get a card. I asked the officer, he said that known traveler number is all you need. You can use that for complimentary TSA pre check and in older global entry kiosks that are not face recognition based.

Hello Anisha, Thank you for the detailed video. I happened to watch video last weekend started applying immediately after detailed steps. I created account in TTP for Global entry and paid 120$ on sunday, it's more than close to 3 business days, and i haven't received GES/GOES ID. I only had applicationID from TTP site. In Parallel, i have also created account in passport seva embassy site and in that , it asks for GES/GOES application ID and application date along with Indian passport details. Once i gave the application ID from TTP in that passport seva embassy site, it complains like this "Entered GES/GOES Application ID or Date of Birth is incorrect or not available with Passport Seva System. @@lichee786 Hi! Thank you so much for watching :) to answer your questions:
      1) I don’t think it will be done much faster. In some cases, it might be, but then we can’t be sure! So to have it be more convenient for you, I would recommend choosing the other option where the applicant is applying from the US.
      2) I think there can potentially be administrative delays and the officer may or may not come when you expect them to. It really is quite arbitrary and they can come any day! They do call before showing up at your door but not much advance notice. So to be safe, I suggest you schedule your VFS appointment such that your folks are available at home for the next few weeks. In my case, the officer showed up within the next 2-3 weeks.
My opinion with these administrative things would always be to play it extra safe to avoid delays. Hope this helps!
