Overall the MX150 is a significant upgrade over the 940MX that has been the go-to low cost mobile processor. I am sure we'll see this GPU in many more laptops in the coming months. I am really eager to see the new Xiaomi 13" laptop that has one of these built in.

I have this computer but with an mx250 instead, plus the 8gb of ram and I5 cpu. I love it! Gets the job done for work, it’s fast and great battery life, and can do some light gaming too on low to medium, I play Overwatch on it and it’s great! Just wanted to say this here in case anyone is considering picking it up!

in the witcher 3 benchmark you should go out into the open world to get true performance test.. doing that opening isn't really a benchmark for the game. but it just a suggestion
Lucky students nowadays can game perfectly at 1080p heck with games these days are beautiful even in low/medium..when it was 2011,i used gt 540m acer laptop bought by my dad at the same price but yet cant even run the first crysis in full 1366*768 in high..how fortunate kids these days😂😂,so my recommendation is just buy this laptop for ur work/uni or college work and build urself a $500 pc with ryzen 1200 paired with the gtx1050ti then 1080p high is achievable with 60fps
Most of them are spoiled complaining that GTX 1050 is old! I read some comments in a laptop brand IG page it's so cringy. 5 years ago the performance you get with a GPU like GTX 1050 is non existent! Uhh

Dont settle, can buy a gtx 1060 6gb , for 500 now, makes a big difference or raise the bar "high"at 800 or 700 then get a 8gb vram gtx 1070
Yeah I'm gonna do my first pc build soon. It will cost around $630. i3 8100,120gb ssd , 2tb hdd , 2x 8 DDR4 , PNY gtx 1060 6gb....Corsair Spec-1 case...Rosewill 400w GPU (hopefully that's enough juice, I got that first real cheap for $15) ...I decided to forgo picking up the Acer Nitro 5 laptop in favor of building a new desktop...it was very tempting though...refurb was around $500 on BF sales....and was $600 +tax new at best buy. I'm more of a desktop person , it will last me a lot longer...And I like the idea of personalizing every part of my pc and finally gaining some pc building experience..

I am thinking of buying an Acer laptop "Acer aspire 5 256GB SSD" version, but I read in someone's review that
It doesn't have any HDD mounting bracket and SATA cable to connect HDD drive in HDD slot.
So I am kind of confused whether to buy it or not.
Because I am thinking of upgrading it with 1TB HDD.
I'm expecting to buy a new Acer laptop with following specs
i5 8250u processor
8 GB ddr4 ram
mx 150 2gb/4gb ddr5 vga
1tb hdd
FHD 15.6' IPS display
with DVD RW
ACER aspire e5 576g model has all the specs which are fit to me except 8 GB DDR 3L soDIMM module
Why ACER new version of laps contain DDR 3L 1600 mhz instead of DDR 4 2133 mhz ? even old Aspire E15 575g lap has DDR 4 version.
Any notebook to buy with above specs ? my budget is around 600$
Can't find this laptop anywhere right now online in the US. Not at Acer store, Microcenter, Best Buy..........nowhere. Makes me wonder if Acer is holding back on purpose, to sell what they have overseas in EU. I see it being sold a lot of places in Germany. It has good specs, and even though it won't beat a 960M or 1050, it does offer better battery life and maybe better thermal control(less watts), which could allow it to hold up for more years.

Lon, if you really wanna check out a cheapo gaming laptop look into the Eluktronics W650KK1. It runs an desktop Pentium G4560 with a GTX 1050Ti. I've seen it on sale for like $650.
SDSakuragi That's insane, assuming it doesn't have any major drawbacks.
It's a desktop CPU so the power draw is a bit insane for a laptop. Only estimated 4 hours of light usage, even with a 60Wh battery. Also, it looks like there's only 1 copper heat pipe going the GPU, so the fans run hard almost all the time, though not loud.

Thank you SO MUCH. I've been looking for a laptop that can run SFV and this one looked like the best specs I could get for around my budget. However I didn't know if it would be strong enough to run SFV since the gpu didn't quite meet the benchmark but the other components were strong enough and then some. I'm certainly purchasing this laptop now that I know it is strong enough, again, THANK YOU.

I was looking at price comparison site, at exacty this laptop. I open TH-cam and this Video is on top of my recommend. It's getting spooky. Doesn't mean I don't like it.

Wish acer stuck with the upgradability of the e5 series. My e5-774g (E17) laptop I bought last november had 2 ram slots (1 populated with 8gb) leaving room for another 8 as well as having sata connector for an additional hdd. The only neg I can think of is having to go out and buy the HDD caddy from acer if you want to properly install the sata drive. I however just taped my drive in place so it would stay in the connector securely. I wish they stuck with that design but just upgraded graphics chip

Liane González if you're on a budget you should totally buy it I found it on microcenter but it doesn't ship to Morocco and the storage is unfortunately isn't upgradable but you can use an external ssd
for a 600$ laptop with nvidia mx150 (which is far better than 940mx) , this is a good laptop for the price . AA games runs perfectly , while latest AAA games u need to lowered your setting . recommend for daily use, college work, and light gaming . speaker sounds good for me . everything works well for me. If there's anything you want to know, tell me i will test
I bought the 8th gen intel CPU version of this and returned it the next day because of washed out colours glare from glossy screen and very thin/flexible plastic panel which makes me feel uncomfortable.
I have a Acer Aspire F15 F5- 573-55LV with a Intel Core i5 dual-core processor 16 gb of ddr4 memory a 256 gig M.2 ssd and for storage a 2.5 inch 256 gig SSD I upgraded the memory from 8 gigs to 16 gigs and I had a 256 2.5 inch SSD drive I put in for a storage drive

Looks like you might need to do an updated video since there is one with an i5 8250U which is a lot better because the 8250U is a quad core with 8 threads over the 7200U that is a dual core with 4 threads.

great review! i have a question theres another model (A515-51G-51RL) which has 1TB HDD and has a very long battery life (up to 21 hours),but everything else is the same as this one how does this one only lasts five hours on battery?
and for the backlit keyboard thing i guess that the keyboard itself is replaceable with an Asipre e5-575g backlit keyboard as they have the exact same layout so both can fit in both models

I don't get it about the m2 SATA drive. The slot is only upgradable by certain bare bones drives? Can you do a video how to replace ram and add the m2 ??
My HP 15 ay105ne with dedicated AMD R5 M430; while playing games, the GPU comes to life only when it is plugged into power and uses specifically the Intel HD 630 on battery. Is this the case with this Laptop too or is it something specific to HP?

Could laptops one day come with a PCI Express slot and no video card. This would of course mean that I could buy one video card and use it for my desktop and my laptop. Of course you'd be stuck with a low profile design. I also would imagine you have to screw like six screws into the laptop to get the heatsink on. And it would cost a lot of money in thermal paste. But you can take your laptop with you on vacation and put it back in your Maine system when you are at home. And if you feel like it you could bring your laptop to a LAN party.

witcher 3 will definitely heat up the laptop, but other games will do ok.

Dude a laptop with a gtx 1070 is like 2 to 3 thousand dollars. Gtx 1070's are serious gpu's that are wayyy to expensive, let alone a laptop with one. A single gtx 1070 gpu is 800 to 100 dollars.
